Glad you enjoyed it! Easy to prepare and cook and a multitude of ways that you can prepare it. We appreciate the great compliment and thanks for watching!
My mother does something like a Shepherd's Pie, I also did it once myself. The meat mix however is sandwiched between two layers of mashed potatoes, and it does not have peas. One time I did a vegetarian variety due to lack of meat, I used mushrooms and some cream mushroom sauce.
Hmm ... two layers of mashed potatoes, that sounds like it ought to be in the instructions. The ingredients are really Chef's choice, mushrooms, that's a hard yes for me. Thanks for watching!
@@allthingsbbq I don't think she knows what a Shepherd's Pie is and if I ever get to visit the UK I'd love to try it how they do it over there, but from many videos that I watched, she does make something similar to it. A lot of the basics are nearly identical. She just calls it a "potato pie".

It adds umami, additional savoriness, to the dish. I keep a tub on hand for dishes I don't want to cook down for hours for flavor.
Or maybe splash a pinch of MSG into it if you can't source miso paste.
I didn't have access to this when I made it so I just substituted soy sauce which was a recommendation from Google.
