The reason being E negative is no vaild by your explantion.You have taken clockwise path and in clockwise path(you have taken) the emf is negative was potential decrease as it from positive terminal to negative terminal ( high potential to low potential)..But the case of 24V its from negative to positive (low to high) so,its a positive.that's a valid reason....But love your effort and thanks man you help in my revision
