Gorgeous table Mike!! I'm glad you didn't go with the epoxy river top. You are always your hardest critic.

Mike you, like me, are not a plumber, carpet installer, roofer, siding specialist, electrician, drywaller, or hunter, you are a wood craftsman genius. Brilliant!!

Overload is a Great word to describe two videos! It was another awesome presentation of your talent but when you cut the edges off and held them up and looked at them, I could see the Future in the way you just glanced at them. Future creations. My favorite part of this video is when I saw you with cloth in hand standing over the table. Then it happened.....The MAGIC!!! Beautiful!

Beautiful slab of book matched maple. It can be difficult to waste wood but when I learned to use the best parts I was happier with the end result. The most important thing is getting the backs nice and flat. Once you have a good edge on the front you can keep them sharp with only a leather strop and some paste.

Doesn't rustic cabin and thick old wood compliment each other!? Made to last and mother nature will do her best to keep that from happening. Look at it like a war and you just took advantage of the shock and awe against your opponents raw power! Breathtaking may not even be the best word but when you can sit there eating your over easy eggs and stare at what you made, then lose yourself admiring the mirrored effects of the spalting and grains,,, PRICELESS!

This. Is. Gorgeous. you'll never know what it could have been and its really hard to really envision what it will look like unless you do this for a living day in day out and have hundreds of experience points to go from and then still its subjective. What i do know is generally when doing ones own work we are very likely our own worst critics.
