Peter Gerstenzang Bee Gees got too associated with Disco. People began to hate Disco (and rightly so), but unfortunately associated this with Bee Gees. But.. a lot of time has passed.

I've not been to a night club in a long time, so I can't say what type of music they play, but I do know that gay people, such as myself, LOVED DISCO . And the Bee Gees made plenty of people get on the dance floor and dance. Today its all electronic stuff I think.

@@susanleone9767Hello Susan, I totally agree with you, people are not faithful these days, they'd rather change partners as often as possible, because relationships are built on lust not love like in the old days. I send you my best
This song reminds me of the spring/summer of '76. Being very little and going to the Lil Peach convenient store to get a blue raspberry Slush Puppy and hearing this in the car with my mom and my Auntie Fay. I used to love the ending adlibs when Barry's falsetto really soars
Why is it that the falsetta doesn't come across as un natural? The Bee Gees pulled this off perfectly......men singing and sounding masculine and dynamic. Plus the over the top lush orchestration..helps..alot! This just soars....Kudos to all people involved. They don't make songs like this any more. I guess the era and timing was just right.
I’ve practiced for years to imitate them. They use their nose a lot when singing, making it easier to hit these high notes and producing a smoother voice timbre that you normally can’t get without the right technique. Plus their harmonies blend so well together that it sounds like one voice. Even knowing these things, the degree of perfection of the finished product is simply unbelievable, I never get tired of hearing this song.
Real shame. My parents, especially my dad, were Bee Gees fans but this song never came up in the cassette/cd compilations they bought. The radios would only play the bigger 60s and 70s hits (I can't believe they ignored the 80s and 90s discography) but even those were so random, like, they would play Don't Forget to Remember but never Nights on Broadway. I only recently found this wonderful song (along with other wonderful, wonderful BGs songs) while rediscovering the group on YT. Now, I wish this was more popular in my country because I want to experience belting out to this song's chorus along with my classmates for fun (like when I played Stayin Alive, Massachusetts, and How Deep is Your Love). Even karaokes are missing out a lot of Bee Gees songs, and it really sucks for a young fan like me.
This makes me want to dance in a field of flower's, looking up at the sun.... Feeling free of everything, oh, what a feeling of warmth inside my heart..... ❤❤❤... 🌹🌹🌹... 💃💃💃💃....
Very true. It was released in January 1976, just before disco exploded and since the Bee Gees have been associated with the disco genre, this song is one of their "forgotten" hits. If it had been released a few years later, I have no doubt that it would have been a number one hit.

There is something sublime about the vocal intro to this song - just captures you immediately and draws you in. Funny how the intro to "How deep is your love" does the exact same thing. Hear it?
I've heard several times the Bee Gees were the second top selling in record sales right after Michael Jackson. this group is so underated. I hated when they were bashed for making disco music years ago.
Not only great singers but songwriters as well. I just purchased Barry Gibb's new CD today called "Greenfields." Has so many of the older Bee Gees older ballads. Love it!

Their music is timeless, I was around 12 when this came out and I will never get tired of listening to these musical geniuses!!
As kid going outside with a portable radio, just to lie back on the grass, feel the warmth of a spring day, and do nothing but listen, because it sounds and feels good. I guess I still kinda do it!
This song is brilliant and makes me crazy because it is so beautiful.
kgc114 yes !!!! no words to explain the awesome vocals or music arrangement
Made me cry, couldn’t listen to it! Memories 😞
I heard when this song dropped the chairman of the board smiled real big and said, "These guys got it"...
Their BEST song ever! Memories of my senior year...1976❤️
Just luv this song - never get tired of it! It came out when I was a teenager. Fond memories....
I WAS 13 YEARS OLD WHEN THIS GIBB'S SONG WAS ON THE TOP OF THE PLAYLIST IN 1975. ONE OF THE BEST ROMANTIC SONG OF THE 30 YEARS OF GOOD MUSIC, THE PERIOD BETWEEN 1958 THROUGH 1988 OR 1991. AND OF COURSE ONE OF THE BEST OF THE 70'S. THANKS BROTHERS GIBB.
They made great disco music!! Just proves great versatility.
underrated? by whom?
I hated it too
They were disco! Defined the art of it! Nothing but LOVE for The Bee Gees! ❤️
@@rbeasley2049 the Bee Gees weren't a Disco group they said it themselves
It's amazing how these guys can reach deep into your soul and heart. By far the best Bee Gees song, with the music and lyrics in perfect sync.
Not only great singers but songwriters as well. I just purchased Barry Gibb's new CD today called "Greenfields." Has so many of the older Bee Gees older ballads. Love it!
This song STILL gives me chills ! A masterpiece!! Wolfsky9
Loved the BeeGees. Decades of wonderful music. I was so sad when the brothers started to die! Now Barry is alone with his memories. My heart breaks for him. But they all live on in their music!
There's not much more to say that hasn't been said already except that these beautiful and talented men are the best of the best, on so many levels!!!
Why the hell am I crying? 😢
This song leaves all their disco stuff in the dust.
A,brilliant passionate song filled with emotion. Also. The gibbs mother. Barbara favorite s9ng of theirs
Such a pretty song. The range these guys get up to are phenomenal! Love these singers❤️
I grew up with the Bee gees and they are phenomenal. There's nobody out there like them, I never will be . They were truly blessed. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍❤️🦋😊
I went to see these wonderful musicians in 1984. They we're just as great in concert as on vinal...yes vinal! I haveen a van since high school. I'm 65 now and still one of their biggest fans. I grieve with Barry for his brothers . 😢
Susan Lovin I ALWAYS wanted to see them in person!!
Fani and Nathan from Georgia brought me here! Sounds like she wasn't quite tender enough with his love. 😂🤣😂
People use each other. They're not true to each other they think that they love they Don't know what Love is. It's a shame that people cause such pain , there's no more loyalty in this world 🌎 this is what I get from this song hurt and pain, get a dog. God bless everybody and be safe ❤️🦋🙏🙏🙏👍💯🎶🎵
an incredible song . from a time when people could sing - really SING!!! Do I miss that. So glad it's recorded .
And I thought Burt Bacharach wrote some of the the most complex melodies...and he did but this would give anything he wrote a run for its money. Amazing song and vocal!!
Barry Gibb and Burt Bacharach are among the best of histories songwriters.
This song will always remind me of my first love and the only time my heart was broken. It's been over 40 years and it still makes my eyes misty.
this is why the bee gees are as great as they are.
asi es verdad

You said that right
lisa bradford They are the best !!!
When you think it hits a crescendo you notice there is more. Perhaps the best of many great Bee Gees songs!
I wasn’t a big BG fan back in the day. I can really appreciate the greatness of this song now.
This is One of my favorites songs ever driving in the middle of the night or working in my night shif.i always enjoyed.....thanks brothers Gees for do it like you only can...
So relaxing and easily can listen to it 10 or 20 times in a row
Benita 🎼🧖
To me the gold nugget in this song is the line "Do you think I'm gonna stand here all night in the rain" sung in Barry's high full voice.. That's so beautiful.
This song was the ultimate when heard on WPRO FM Providence, circa 1975, with their famous reverb and extremely loud audio processing chain! Who could forget "Mighty Mike" . RIP to all the Gibbs brothers forever............
Rip?They're busy entertaining heaven and God who's listening 2 their wonderful harmony. They were truly blessed with ears 4 singing like black men singing doo wop n the 1940s and 50s.⬇️look

I absolutely love this song
What a tremendous song : incredible lyrics, Fantastic melodies, Timeless !!!
No one can touch them and there are many fantastic groups out there - Temps, 4 Tops, Rolling Stones, etc. TO ME, Bee Gees are at the very tip of the mountain !!!.
Pop perfection. Barry Gibb is ome of the greatest songwriters of all time.
I just heard this for the first time today and I love it I played it ten times .it speaks to my heart about a past love that was sensitive to everything I said or did to him Let's say it didn't work out . I still miss the love he showed me. In another time things could have been different. I love the sound of the music that touches me. Also, I truly love the bee gees
how anyone..cannot love this song. .is beyond my understanding. .I love every song the Bee Gees ..ever sang
Heard it on the radio today and just had to hear it again. So many memories ...

Yes they were!
they were never under rated. their music were so popular back in the day. people are just forgetting about them, sadly.
Under rated how ? They were famous in the 60's and 70's all over the world and everybody knew who they were ! And yes, melodious and lots of harmony!
I love so many of their songs. What a blessing to music they were.
The Brothers Gibb sure knew how to grab you by the heart..They wrote and sang some beautiful love songs...this and Juliet have to be two of their finest pieces.
This song is perfection
Fanny - Bee Gees - incredible!!. Nothing like it today !.;
The melody, the instrumentals, the orchestra, the harmony...probably the best I've ever heard
THIS IS MUSIC...REAL VOICES...
