I've finally (and sadly) finished all your video playlist (beside The Traveller's guide that i have to dose like the finest wine). Now it's time to attack your livestream section, i'm glad you put out all this amazing contents. Thanks, really
Oh you HAVE to watch the Traveler's Guide! It's SO good and really very clever. It was one of the first of his videos I watched back when the series was still airing. Remains one of my favorites!
So sad I missed the live stream last night! Love your videos Robert! I listen to every episode while I work from home & cook dinner. Thank you for the content. Love your POV on WOW. 💕🙏🏼 be well!
I cannot watch these livestreams until the weekend but WHAT a treat. Great commentary from you Robert and the questions are excellent. I'm so impressed with the audience and their interest in the WORLD George RR Martin has created. I have begun to read the 5 books completely through for a single POV character. I've just finished Jon Snow. What a fabulous experience to read this amazing story as if only a single person is involved--a new perspective. I finished my 5th reading before Christmas and decided to do the 6th in this fashion after being inspired by your livestreams. I really feel like I understand Jon much better without pushing on to the next chapter from another POV. I hope to become a patreon soon when my finances improve. Oh yes...next up...Arya. I'll do the Stark children and then the Lannisters. Obviously there is no POV for Robb or Rickon but that is fine.
I’d love to see a video comparing how alike and how different Jaime and Cersei are from Loras and Margaery. They seem to parallel each other to a degree
I could read an entire book about house Tyrell's history and lore. I know it won't ever happen but I wish we could get history books on par with fore and blood about the history of each of the lord paramounts of the seven kingdoms Willas and Garlan especially are very intriguing characters
All of the castles in ASoIaF are impenetrable compared to real world castles, even if Highgarden isn't up to the standard of the other castles in Westeros. The walls of Winterfell are so enormous it is hard to even imagine the scope of that place. It is enormous, with many layers of defense.
GRRM admitted that he wasn't thinking of real world sizes when he described The Wall so he probably wasn't when he described Winterfell either (maybe he also admitted this somewhere). Unfortunately, it does make a big impact when things in a fantasy world are so different from the same type of thing in the real world because readers naturally make that comparison. For example, if your castle walls are 3 times taller than a real world castle wall, does that have some specific meaning in ASOIAF or is it just that GRRM didn't realize that real world castle walls aren't that tall?
@@MykeFahrenheit Fortifications exist still to this day, you can look at european fort development until around the 19th century and they still had walls etc, gunpowder didn't automatically make walls useless.
There are so many places I’d want to visit in Planetos But if I had to live anywhere it may have to be in the reach where food for most people is hardly an issue most of the time
02:03:00 - I know Robert's main theory on the Horn of Winter is that it animates statues of the Stark dead but I actually think that the Horn of Winter causes massive, magical earthquakes. So I suspect that Euron's spies are trying to find the Horn of Winter (which Sam probably has) for Euron. I suspect Euron's blood sacrifice is to reactivate the broken horn. And I suspect it will be blown either by Euron himself or by Sam trying to warn the city of the Ironborn ships he sees in the distance and the resulting earthquake will bring down the Hightower, the Citadel, destroy parts of Euron's fleet and level Oldtown. Then Euron will claim the horn and sail to Eastwatch where he will blow it a second time and the resulting earthquake will bring down the Wall and let the Others into Westeros in the epilogue of Winds.
Just started the video couldn't catch it live... Please please please talk about the order of the green hand! What dont I know what do I know?! Lord manderly a part of it? does it still exist????
If the citadel and the books therein will be destroyed the next big library might be the wall. Maybe Samwell starts the first public university in westeros. Finally a good use for Harrenhall ;)
I dont think the Maesters forge new Links of V-Steel, I think they just have a bunch of them on hand and forge the rest of the chain around them. it is known that it is very rare to be awarded a V-Steele link as it is both difficult and not popular/encouraged so i dont think they would even need to forge new ones anyway
I really doubt that Loras Tyrell will be defending Dragonstone from Dany. It seems more likely that he would defend it for her. He has no reason to hate Dany and plenty to hate Cersei.
Robert, did you just say "holding down the fort?* Is the fort in danger of blowing away? One holds the fort as one holds the line. There's no need to keep it in place. I only bring this up because you are usually so erudite and generally well spoken.
The Reach, Highgarden and The Tyrell's are my favourite part of ASOIF and they were all done so dirty on Game of Thrones. The war was over as soon as Cersei destroyed the Red Keep, the Tyrell's were the wealthiest, most powerful and resourceful house, the writers never thought it through. Idiots.
Every Thursday . Depending on your time zone! For me its 5pm it might be different for you! You can put on the notification bell to be told when things are out!
Robert you magnificent bloke, thanks for blessing us with your insightful content.

Maybe this is how European castles would have developed if we hadn’t started using guns

God can you imagine Euron killing Edric Dayne and getting his hands on Dawn, that would be a nightmare
Maybe Euron _is_ Azor Ahai the gritty reboot.

❤
Are John and Sam analogous with bran the builder and garth Greenhand?

Euron is actually the Prince that Was Promised...

If they ever re do game of thrones more like the book you should audition for littlefinger.
How do I find out when Livestreams are being conducted? I'd love to attend one live!

just here to find the "lovecroft"
Wow yeah imagine if Euron managed to wield Dawn in his Valyrian Steel Armour..
