- Chris Forsberg gets the ride of his life in Brian Hosford’s winged Sprint Car!
(Season 1, episode 6): Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg takes us on a tour of garages around the country, from professional outfits to grassroots backyard garages. In this episode, we meet Sprint Car racer Brian Hosford and get a tour of his personal Sprint car garage in Phoenix, Arizona. Hosford builds and maintains his small fleet of cars to race in the USAC 360 division race series-these methanol-fueled bad boys put out 700 horsepower in a super-lightweight chassis. Forsberg squeezes into the an ASCS 360 winged Sprint Car and way out of his comfort zone as he “wings it” around the dirt track. New episodes of “Garage Tours” release every Tuesday. Sprint cars have never been my thing but I have huge respect for the racers and would never turn down a chance to drive one of those beasts either. Really liking the diversity in this series. Great video!
Thanks for the great feedback Stig Msr !!!
Thanks Stig Msr, we wanted to hit all aspects of cars and racing! I really enjoyed this episode!
+Network A damn Chris. You seemed a little ball "busterish" in this episode lol
Sprint and dirt track were never my thing either but as soon as I had a chance to run a dirt mod car I was hooked.
@Anthony Huynh basically the wing, as us dirt fanatics call them, is ment for downforce, since like he said in the video, there is so much grip, caused from the air pushing the ass end down. Without these wings, the cars would be very unstable, and often leave contact with the ground, due to the 900+hp engines. The wings also serve as a purpose to tune the drive of the car, if it be to loose, or to tight on the track, simply by moving the wing forward or backward to adjust how the air pushes on the car. This can be done in the cockpit, with hydraulics. The small wing in the front of the car, helps push air up over the hood, and onto the top wing. Hope I helped some what the top wing does. As for the dish in the wing, some wings are dished out like that, and some are just flat, it all depends on driver feel, personally we run our car with a dished wing. Hope I helped!
CJ Davis, I'm jealous! 😄
Chris, this was awesome!! I'm so glad you got to get a firsthand experience - there's nothing else like it in the world. Brian is very lucky to have extra chassis and cars; coming from a small, driver-owned team, we don't have that luxury. Thanks for the great explanations from Brian, too - makes it a lot easier for those that haven't seen this stuff to understand!
Chris Forsberg in a sprintcar = Badass!
Wow! Brian is nothing like his brother. And I'm loving the longer episodes, keep it up!
A full 410 sprint car these days are 850 to 950hp to the point we use air flow restricters on some tracks to keep them drivable
Ricky Horsburgh and traction control on asphalt races
That seems like a wild ride! 700+ hp in a 1400lb vehicle. GoKart on steroids. Cool to see Corey in there.
No comparison lol
I know of a sprint car garage in Nesbit MS. I stumbled across it one day after misreading some "follow the signs to a poker game" signs. Had 4 quarter midgets, 5 USAC 410s, and a few Outlaws if I remember correctly. It's been a few years.
That was only a 360. A 410 has 200 more horsepower
A well tuned 360 can turn lap times very close to a 410 in many instances.
But a well tuned 410 is just something else,
@@bobbyboykin7137 yea but not really lol
so dope they let him try and rip one
It's fun to watch
so dope they let him rip !

SPRINTERS ARE 800 HORSES IN 1200 POUND CAR ITS FASTER THEN LIGHTENING
A fuel line in between your legs? 4:27 Gives a new meaning to the term fire crotch
The drive line
The fuel pump is practically between your feet, and the main fuel line feeding to the pump runs atop your right foot. There's not a lot of space to be had.
paco! 5:38
What year did the other hosford start drifting?
yer man Sprintcar drivers are real men ,,,drift nuts are little boy racers
Hey, I was thinking how to get into pro drifting, and get sponsored and drift as a full time job??
Where can I get that shirt?
how come the spoiler is shaped like that? is it because they're racing in an oval?
Yup, because they only make left turns and the cars are so light, the wing is designed so that downforce is applied to keep the car level and on the ground
Joshua Boune thats interesting haha thanks for the reply
i used to race junior micro sprintsat the age 10
woahh phoenix thoo ;)
Now do top fuel dragsters on dirt
Missing Dustin Millard.
I really want to get into sprint car racing someday. Does anyone have any tips on how to get into the scene? Are mini sprints (600cc) a good place to get started. I live in Minnesota and am 22 years old. Any helpful tips are welcomed guys!
Race what you can afford. karts, 600s, whatever.

Racing hobbies. If they pay for this with their day jobs this is their hobby. A career you make a living at. Words have meanings use the correct vocabulary.
Anyone else catch Corey Hosford? I'm guessing him and bryan are related!
In the beginning, Chris Forsberg still sounds slightly unnatural, like he's uncomfortable or something.
Oh and there should have been more in-car footage.
Otherwise, Chris is the f***ing man!!!! He seemed more natural with the drift missile videos (which are my fav videos)
So, I'm taking it that Brian is Corey Hosford's brother?
rip Kevin Wards
…tighter than forsberg's pants

Drifting is a joke compared to throwing a 360 sprinter into Turn-One with 23 other cars and its dry slick.
I’m 14 and Race a sprint car
"downforce". More like drag.
the heavy hitters don't lift they need that wing.
