I've heard this song in my youth (1980 first time). At that time, i know the song from Peter. But the text in the intro from Robert opened my eyes at that time for the consequenses of klimate destruction. Now, we all are able to see, that this was right. Many cities will be flooded!
The speech at the beginning is not Fripp. It is the English spiritualist/scientist, J.G. Bennett, whose teachings had a profound influence on Fripp. Bennett founded an institute to further both science and spirituality/meditation. In 1975, Fripp effectively retreated from music for a year and stayed at the institute for a time. Fripp used the recording of Bennett which had already long existed - but which was incredibly prescient, and which - as you say - predicted the very times in which we now live…and in which we are about to live.
This consists of the last 5 tracks from the album "Exposure" by Robert Fripp: 00:04 - Water Music 01:23 - Here Comes the Flood 05:17 - Water Music II 11:40 - Postscript
Fripp is Fripp in everything and everywhere! Excellent pop song got its Heaven just due to Mr. Fripp. This is like returning to your real Home.

Don't forget the beautiful "First Inaugural Address to the I.A.C.E. Sherborne House"
Amazing song! Good idea to put the whole suite! And a well dressed man to boot!
I have been loving both versions all this years. ("Naked" one and "wall of sound" like).
There is not a "single god", there are Fripp and Gabriel.

I don't remember this version. It is some mix?
This is from Robert Fripp's album Exposure. (It's not rare.) I think it's the best version out there.
No. It's the version Fripp released on his album Exposure. You are probably familiar with the version on Peter Gabriel's album.
I was 21 when this came out. This is part of the original album.
Yes, me too. Original.
Me too, I had just finished college and turned 21 in 1981. This is some of the defining music of that age for me.
