    This was a great tour. I love that you guys showed the "real van" and not one that's emptied and super bland. I live fulltime in my van and I always see youtubers show a new or completly emptied van and it's just not real life to me, so thanks for showing the real stuff! If you ever decide to replace that seat cover, I can dm you the ones I made that have a non-slide bottom. I would 100% go with the second fuel tank or water tank in the spare tire area. But let's be serious, I have no idea how you deal with one cabinet for clothes, that's just wild and that's coming from a fulltimer. Can't wait for the next video!

      @@heatherm4276 Thanks so much for your comment! To be honest, we were thinking we should have tidied up more, but that is life on the road and everything is far from perfect. Lol.
      We’ll probably need a new seat cover soon, so if you can send the ones you made, that would be awesome. Thank you!
      We are also leaning toward and extra fuel tank. Almost running out in Canada was so stressful!!
      And yes, not having many clothes is totally inconvenient. It also means more laundry days because we run out quicker. Still don’t know what to do about that…
      Thanks again for watching and commenting! All our best!

    It's an awesome van and has everything you need. Personally I'd want some windows by the bed to peek out or get airflow. Do you think you'd ever get a bigger van? We have a 170 extended we'd like to build out but would it be limited going the places you've went? Curious your thoughts on that. Can't wait to see what other adventures you go on next. Stay safe and take care.

    • @AdventureOutThere

      Thanks so much!! Agree, that it would be nice to have windows in the back. I’d love to be able to see out while in bed. Maybe someday.
      I’m not sure if we would get a bigger van, but the extra room sure would be nice! In particular, would LOVE a fixed bathroom. The trade off though is that we wouldn’t be able to go to a lot of the more remote places we do. We love that we can off-road in this and also park in any normal parking space. There are pros and cons to everything!
      Thanks for following along. Let us know if you have any other questions we can help with!

    Are you still happy with the Sprinter? Have there been any mechanical problems? If you had it to do over again would you consider the Transit for the build or is the Sprinter still your first choice?

    • @AdventureOutThere
      @AdventureOutThere  7 днів тому +1

      Great questions! We do still love the Sprinter and would be our first choice if we did it again. We’ve only had a couple of issues, both of which were really our fault. One was from a river crossing and water getting in the air intake and the second was a torn CV boot from off-roading. Both were fairly easy fixes. The only reason we would go with a Transit or Promaster is if we were going to do the PanAmerican or something like that. Good diesel and parts can be harder to come by in those countries and we’ve heard of a few issues with people traveling through Central/South America with Sprinters. Hope that helps!

    Awesome 🤘
    I've been waiting for the tour, thank you.. you guys have really made it a comfy lil home, i like the roam boxes on top. I'll be checking those out for my van, something you didn't mention, is your water heater electric or? I also installed the flatline van bed system, the integrate molle system is great for extra storage, and you can purchase extra hangers from flatline.. i need to catch up on your videos because while my vans not quite finished , I've gotten it to a usable point, so I've been enjoying it, im waiting on the galley to arrive and some adds and ends... safe travels ✌️

      So glad you enjoyed the tour. 😊 It feels hard to do it the proper justice. Our water heater is electric, which is another reason why we would love more battery. Hope your van build is going well! Would be fun to cross paths on the road some day. All our best!

      @AdventureOutThere Absolutely, I'm in Colorado if you make it out this way, I could show you guys some great camping spots, and im only about 2 hours from moab, which is a place that everyone should experience, it's amazing, in regards to your battery capacity, you have one of the best systems available having the GC2 battery, battleborn designed them to be easily expandable, a 2nd battery, just mounts onto the existing battery, and comes with cables to connect them, super easy..

    Awesome build. We chose to just do a store bought van, it works well for us but I wish the quality was better. One thing we wouldn't give up is the dedicated rear wet bath. Us older folks get up more at night...lol. Yall build definitely uses all the spaces really good. Love the roof rack for extra storage. How much clothes do yall each carry?

    • @AdventureOutThere
      @AdventureOutThere  18 днів тому

      Thank you! There are times we wish we had a dedicated wet bath for sure. We’d love to take more showers in the van, but dealing with a wet shower curtain, isn’t the greatest.
      We have a little over a week’s worth of clothes each, which is not a lot. Haha. 1 big packing cube for pants, 1 big packing cube for tops, 1 medium packing cube for socks, and 1 medium packing cube for underwear. It’s hard to fit much more than that with the two of us, but we make it work!
      Thanks for watching and commenting. All our best!

      @@AdventureOutThere we don't use the inside shower much because of the same reason but we do use the outdoor one often even when it's a bit cold. Wow just one week of clothes. Our last trip was our longest and we were able to each bring around 10 changes of clothes, I think we might be able to squeeze 12.....we're still figuring all the packing and what we really need to bring which had changed since we first started traveling in our van...Happy Trails 🐕

      Thanks! Miss you guys too and can’t wait to see you soon! The projector is a Kodak Luma 350 thanks to my awesome old work team. 😊 We love it, but you do have to be connected to internet to play anything through Amazon, Netflix, etc. It doesn’t let you play downloads to your phone which is the only drawback because we’re off grid a lot, but definitely recommend. amzn.to/3O4P1nj

    Nice tour!! Do you have an AC and how do you go without an oven of any type?? Doing my build now and I must say the additional spaxe with the 170Xd allows for these things. Just found your channel and am enjoying your videos!! MaybI ask how your dog does when you cannot take with? I have a dig and worry about temp control so have it automated. Thanks so much!!

    • @AdventureOutThere
      @AdventureOutThere  8 днів тому +1

      Thanks, Sheryl! We don’t have any AC, but have a MaxxAir fan and another fan that work really well. We try to stay out of areas that are too hot, so we don’t have to rely on AC. We haven’t actually used our fans in over 4 months. Lol.
      We do most of our cooking outside in the Dutch oven or skottle, but when we can’t/don’t want to cook outside, we have an air fryer and an induction stovetop. An oven would be nice though! We just don’t have the space like you mentioned. If we had a 170, we’d totally try to put one in.
      For our dog, like I said, we’re in cooler climates so don’t have to worry about him too much. We also rarely leave him alone. We are looking into getting a Waggle pet monitor though for when it’s warmer out. It allows you to measure the temp of the inside of your van while you’re away and there is also a camera to check on your pup. We’ll show that in a video coming soon!
      Hope that helps! Wishing you all the best for your build!

      @AdventureOutThere  10 днів тому +1

      Thanks! That's a good question. Storage for clothes would definitely be a plus, but we also think that more battery would be super helpful. There have been a few times we wanted to stay off-grid without moving and didn't have enough solar to recharge our battery. We're also leaning towards getting a bigger fuel tank.
