This video relates so many things we enjoy in modern days including soccer and parks. I just eventually made a connection between industrialization, consumerism and leisure activities. It's really a helpful video!

Thanks so much for these videos, im a fashion design student and this made me understand clearly the life at that time. Fashion reselmbles a lot of what is happening in the colective and people like you makes it way easier and simple to study : )

Good to listen to the thoughts of someone who can unite so many seemingly unrelated things to a thread that does unite them.

The development of professional nursing in the 1860s and 1870s allowed many women 'legitimate' work out of the home. Florence Nightingale coined the term 'woman's work' in reference to professional nursing. Allowed freedom from strict regulated authoritarian homes (opposite of Belle Epoch's zeal).

Under the Mundell trilemma, the Belle Epoque era had a fixed exchange rate under the gold standard and free capital flow. What it did not have was domestic monetary policy control. So, my question is, what was the monetary policy of this era? How could it have not been controlled?

OMG, an American can’t speak perfect French?!? What an outrage!!! Just kidding, that’s sarcasm. I’m Mexican and I realize that judging people for not being able to speak another language is RACIST
