I just quit a FL warehouse in Whitestown IN, today. The pay was $24 an hour and that was the only good thing about it. Management was mostly very young and either lazy or just totally clueless, I didn’t see them enough to be able to tell if they just didn’t know what they were doing or if they just didn’t give a shit. If you’re lazy and don’t take any pride in your work or work ethic I’m sure it’s great because management doesn’t make anyone clean or pick up pallets or help out others etc. if you actually work hard you might get $10 worth of “smile points” (that you get taxed on) but you’ll also just get worked that much harder. Picking up pallets or cleaning might not seem like a big deal but when you’re cleaning up other picker’s messes or picking up pallets someone else should have every single day, all day long it gets frustrating. When it’s slow they send you home or “decrew” you and tell you not to come in, or they might have you do some fucked up job no one else wants to do. I got extra hours by cleaning after work every night because we went in at noon and were usually done picking by 5. Management was about the worst I’ve ever seen. They were constantly harping about “job codes” and EP despite the fact that nobody even explains to new workers what those are. In Whitestown a lot of no picking employees would just be on their phones all day or in the break room. Management would tell them to get to work but never follow up or discipline anyone so they just went back to the break room when the manager left the area. Yesterday I worked 8 hours straight with no break trying to finish all my orders while dock workers stood there and watched me audit and load everything. They never even offered to help. I’ve been told at other FL warehouses pickers audit and load everything themselves but we just started it a few weeks ago. We have dock workers and auditors who did all that so we could pick. From what I was told the Whitestown warehouse is one of the bigger FL warehouses. Anyway auditing and loading everything made a job I could tolerate into one I absolutely hated. Working my ass off picking, auditing and loading while the auditors and dockworkers just watched really pissed me off. I worked 8 straight hours yesterday without a single break to get everything done the manager was complaining at prework today about all the guys just hanging out in the break room, but management never follows up on it so those same guys will be back in the break room again tomorrow. It’s also a physically demanding job. The boxes aren’t heavy but you pick up 1,000-1,500 boxes every day, move carts around, load trucks etc. I got carpal tunnel pretty bad from pulling carts and squeezing the trigger on my scanner. Not a bad job if you’re a kid but not if you’re a hard working adult.
I used to work at Fritolay here in Aberdeen, Maryland. I was in the manufacturing side as a PMOC formally PMT. Basically we were like assistants to operators as far as helping them keep their lines running by clearing faults giving them seconds on their paperwork, cleaning formers getting them film cleaning the hoppers and weighers. It was ok i got tired of it because I wanted something better but now at my new job im having regrets about leaving but it is what it is.
True but details are important trust me you can get paid $30 hour and working only 15 hours or it's stressful boss is asshole or bad treatment money aint the only thing that determines if a job is good
The ad tells you how much depending on the time of year and location. And like the person above me said they might pay you 40$ but only work part time.
Thanks for the info, I have a separate question though, I applied for a part time position standard warehouse but I really want a full time position. Do you know if Fritos generally allow part timers to transition to full time? And would it be okay if I ask my interviewer this question; or would this make them uncomfortable?
I work full-time in a GES warehouse in NC and I've got my 3 days off in a row. Maybe it's different with every warehouse. Some people have their off days broken up though. Btw GES = Geographic enterprise system.

@@jamesandersonreviews But I stay a hour away from the warehouse give me your opinion do you think its worth the drive I already have a decent job with decent pay but it's not $22.00 an hour and it's only 25-30 minutes away from my crib? We never got two days in a row off. Only the people who had been there a long time had consecutive days off. I worked second shift (noon start) which basically took my whole day. I had a 40 minute drive to work and I’d work usually 8-9 hours, sometimes more. Not having two consecutive days off just blows. I’m 47 so after picking and cleaning all day I was tired. I’d get home about 9-11 PM on Mon night, get up around noon on Tue, my day off, and have to do laundry, shopping, run any a errands I had to do etc. my body never got time to recover. I’m in good shape but just all the lifting, walking, pulling, etc causes a lot of aches. Month after month of that just beat me down physically.
I had the same problem with fluctuating hours. First shift always seemed to get most of the orders at our warehouse. Second shift got what was left over. Some days it was only 4 hours of work. Then I had to do some other fucked up job or clean to get my 8 hours in. Then when it got busy they’d work you to death, which makes for nice checks but that warehouse is a miserable place. Where I worked people were always quitting or not showing up too so you might end up getting more orders added on.
Lot of my families work there and for many years and they bought a house from it im like man im kinda jealous cause i applied many times and just couldn't get hired it frustrating as fuck
