Thank you for the video and taking us on the journey with ya'll. Going to be bad ass to see the tear down of the old and the build of the new race car....The "Elco" will be reborn!!!!

Im willing to bet cash at this point that they have an old cassette stereo in the shop... and a twin to my old cassette collection lying around. If it is on CD they had to scrounge long and hard to find what I have heard so far.
Greetings from NY. Sorry you’re finding more damage than ya thought, but we’re glad you got away from that crash. Hope it’s not TOO bad to fix the transmission.
@@KamiKazeLife hey if your needing sponsorship we own a chassis shop in des moines iowa an would love to work with you an build a new chassis just a thought I'm not sure how to send pics of our cars but let me know how an I'll send some we build chassis for drag cars street cars an dirt track check us out
You guys are a lot 🤣. Between Chris’s random OCD barks, Grayson holding that thing while it was leaking all over him, Cory windexing stuff (Chris you know windex cleans everything lol), and Clayton trying to explain stuff....I’m just glad something came off that car like planned 🙌
Damn the part when Chris has the hammer trying to get that bolt out with his unique way (hammer) 'Give it a little tappy !! Happy Gilmore , u just see the guy standing on the far right shacking his head and then his brother bart with the cable just standing there shaking it , I can just see me and my brothers doing the same damn thing A. D. D
Now seeing the chassis and everything I knew chef and them was all bull shizzzing about the elco about held together with zip ties and duck tape. Oh it’s a rolling death trap of put together parts. Shizzz that’s a freaking real deal built race car/truck lmfao. I’m glad to be able to see the beautiful work that mad it suck a bad azzz but sorry it was this way. One of my favorite cars.
Love the videos, feel like we’re there with ya. With all the dismantling, anything you found that was a positive? Or ‘silver lining’? Watching from Tucson 🌵
If it were me I'd wanna throw up every time I looked at the truck and thought about all the hours invested in building, all the money, all the LOVE any motor head would have only to see it all gone in a second. Back to square one, start again. Yes, every racers knows it's inevitable, if you stick with it one day it will happen, the crash. We never know just how bad but hope to GOD we survive and the hodrod is salvagable. Chris lost all of the truck 'cept a few parts BUT he escped unhurt thanks to a very well put together chassis and cage. I guess all the exoerience he's gaind since he took the wheel of the ElKo and ya can't put a price on that. The next edition of the Kamakazi ElKo will be sumpth'n to behold! Watch out 405 and others 2021, the ElKo will return, a quicker and faster hotrod.
It’s looks really bad but a lot of that chassis is still usable and can be repaired and the engine can also probably be repaired it’s probably not as bad as it looks in the videos but it would still suck to have so many destroyed parts
Simple reason they didn’t do that. Output shaft of the trans went into the u-joint, which bent it( the joint), therefore took out the cir-clips (wedged them in), making it impossible to remove the joint themselves. You could’ve hammered them till you’re blue in the face with no result. The only option was to pull it as one, but cutting it on the floor was a smarter move. Linkage was probably still attached and bent hindering them from putting it in neutral to rotate.
Kamikaze isn’t just for his racing this man said if ya ain’t on the edge you’re using too much space. Those grinder skills son 😂 I’m gladosha doesn’t come to my shop too lol.
Great music. Check with Cleetus McFarland he has a body of a elco that he was building into a rocket car but pulled the plug on it. So it would not hurt to check in on it. Good luck and God bless
@@davemorrow3862 the elco they’re building is a different body than they originally started with the original body is setting behind the shop and not gonna be used
There's a lesson to learn here, kids. This is what happens when you build the car too rigid, with no crash impact absorbent structures. They do tend to add weight, but they also can save your internal parts. In drag racing the forces are different than in normal transport, but the physics of impact are still the same. In a Pro-Mod, the outer shell is almost not fastened to the frame at all, and has an inner structure inside it to disperse the forces when collided. This added to the overall lightweight of the vehicle, gives the car a directional change when impact, and thus softens the blow to the internal roll cage, engine parts and driver. How to convert this into a street legal body? When attaching the body into the roll cage, the points need to give in, but wheel structures need to hold a bit longer. They need to break off before the attachment point at the tube frame, otherwise the impact twists the frame, and cracks the cast metal parts. Especially in drag racing this is a balancing act between the accelerating force and the collision force. Rear axle needs to hold the grip, and front axle needs to be able to hold a wheelie, but at the same time they can't carry the collision force inside the roll cage.
I like the music but UA-cam DOES NOT you won't get paid from them so may want to keep it to where camera doesn't pick it up. Just want you to make as much as possible to be able to put back into the program. Also they will monitor the first 5mins for language. I think it's stupid and part of building cars but for the ads may want to bleep until 5mins. Get your money 💰 pimp. Always support you in the elco or whatever your behind the wheel inn
Well I think I would of just cut driveshaft while it was still in car if that's what you were gonna do anyways! Would of been easier to get trans out.😂
Maybe try to show the issues alittle better kamikaze, like the issue with the yoke on the transmission. Give alittle better look at the issues for the viewers and maybe explain alittle better what you gotta do to solve the issue. Just some thoughts man
You definitely had someone watching over you to walk away from a crash like that without a scratch god bless you brother

Should have just taken the c clips out of the universal joints and knocked out the u joint and then delt with the driveshaft yoke and out put shaft

What car are you going to build to replace the El CO ? You should build a better lighter car. A Ford falcon would be sick
Just curious why didn't you take the clips out of the yoke and take the drive shaft off that way
or al least just cut the drive shaft off
