Sean Patrick Flannery said in an interview that when he moved from TX to CA he became a waiter at TGI Fridays and he absolutely loved it! He totally dug it! Met a lot of cool people and he’d do it again in a heartbeat
I love these kinds of period pieces as my own Dad (b.1901) came of age in this era. I still have photographs of him dressed that way, with cars like that. He grew up in Philly that had its own underworld, not quite as infamous as Chi-Town. I still have my Dad's hip flask that he carried during Prohibition..... filled with "lemonade", of course!
Same here, My friend August Caccavone was born in 1926 when Prohibition was a thing and later fought in World War II with the 7th Army in Europe as a Sgt. Since one of the gangsters is using a Tommy Gun in the episode he actually carried the weapon as squad leader and lead a platoon through southern France and Germany towards wars end
I always heard the ice cream trucks playing this song for 6 decades now.....I finally know the name of this tune. Do your ears hang low, do they wiggle too and fro. Can you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow? When I was 6 in Honolulu, I was selling popsicles to my neighbors out of my tricycle ice cream truck. 😂❤🎉
First, what a cast! Sean Patrick Flannery, Jeffrey Wright, Nicholas Turturro, Keith David, Jane Krakowski, Saginaw Grant, and more. As usual, the writing is excellent, as is the direction. It's just a great romp through history. I love these shows!
The great Jeffrey Wright. I remember watching this when it came on TV. Harrison Ford had the beard because he was doing The Fugitive at the time. I never forgot the jazz version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I loved it when I heard it then, and I still love it now. So joyful and uplifting.
This was one of the great episodes. Alas there weren't enough of them. I wish they'd kept going so we could have met Abner Ravenwood and young (very young!) Marion, and maybe even the young Rene Belloq.
❤FANTASTIC ❤ Mr. Lucas. I love the way you tie these characters together with history. I'm just loving these Indie Chronicles. And then I'm 72 and I still listen to the Blues all day long on KRSH FM here in Sonoma County, CA ❤❤❤
43:33 and 47:00 Indie playing that mini-sax is just about all I remember from seeing this series when I was younger, but *man* is the music clear in my mind.
I think if I was a teacher, I would play a lot of films, that way I wouldn't have to actually do my work, lol. Kind of like parents who don't want to deal with their kids so they plant them right in front of the TV.
I discovered this movie in a save-ons video section right around the time I was heading into middle school. I had joined band, and when it came time to pick our instruments, chose the saxophone because it’s what Indy played
Not to the amount it may seem, the thing is...Chicago wasn't segregated ... wasn't segregated since 1790... A coat of sugar is no warmer when its tossed in with a coat of gun powder by someone else. This era has short and sweet and long and sour moments, but it is nothing like people deface and insult it into being. The north was primarily non racist.
At first, I assumed that Harrison Ford portrayed the role of a different character who is a skilled saxophone player whom young Indiana Jones (Sean Patrick Flanery) meets when I had seen the VHS promo of The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, but after watching this, I now realize that certainly wasn't the case.
ThankYou For This..Ive been wanting to see this again for a long time..ddnt even know what It was Called or tht It was Indy..i jst wanted to see The Twinkle Twinkle Sax Progression Story but The Rest Was Cool Too..Good It Was To Save A Native American Pipe..
I gotta download this episode, I just bought the dvd box set before Lucasfilm edits or destroys the canon. I heard the box set doesn't have this episode.
@@Waterford1992 that’s honestly a good choice mine’s the peacock’s eye. My least favourite tho is the 8 year old Indy one’s idk how you could choose any of those over this one, especially when it has Harrison Ford

This was an awesome film. Love how they got the original Indiana Jones to start and end the film.

Great memory! Probably wasn't in that period that caused W.C. Fields to remark, "Stopped into Philadelphia the other day . . . but it was closed."

The Harrison part takes place seven years before Crystal Skull! I kind of wish Solo had been told this way, with Harrison Ford bookending the film.
7 years before Crystal Skull.
this happened in 1919 after WW1., Crystal Skull happened in 1953

Same here.
That piano player really reminds me of Forest Whitaker....without the messed up eye.
Mark Curtis Believe it or not that’s his younger brother, Damon Whittaker
I thought he was born with a good eye and something happened when he got older
At first I thought that was Forest Whitaker at a young age.
Good to see Harrison Ford at the end
Great jazz in this; love that early stuff, before it drifted into swing . . . as usual, a great cast of actual characters!
It's too bad they don't keep good stuff like this! Now we have shit like real housewives and the masked singer.
Thankyou my fav
I’m excited that the 5th Indians Jones will be out next year

54:25 why did Indiana Jones who has heard more gunshots in his young adventures than most people ever will in their lifetime not recognize a gunshot
What a powerful rough episode. A real sad shame that the US used to be like this and still is to some degree 😔

The Elliott Ness character, what a wuss, lol. This was the guy that would take down Capone.
He’s not a gunslinging sheriff he’s a common agent and a damn good one
Rip Elliott’s car and license
Did George Lucas have blackmail on Harrison Ford? How did they get him to do this?
What the hell are you even saying? Lucas and him are buddies, scrub.
Despite hating to play Han Solo he enjoyed playing Indy very much
Harrison had the time to do this while filming The Fugitive.
