Daisy State Park, Arkansas! (Fire Starting with a Ferro Rod)

  • Looking for a great place to camp? Check out Daisy State Park in Arkansas. Big, shady campsites with great views but also one (1) important issue that might be a problem for some. I grill up some cheeseburgers on a 14” Weber Smokey Joe charcoal grill and demonstrate how to make a bushcraft campfire with wood shavings & sparks from a ferro rod.

WOW! Makes me want to go camping, however my idea of camping is the Holiday Inn. JK!
Thank you so much for sharing. I remember another trip you went on, I want to say you guys were tooling around the paths catching all the beauty of nature!
(Maybe it was your anniversary or your wife’s birthday)
There was a lookout point and it was raining or cold? But I may be confusing that with a documentary I saw- don’t be too rough on me if I’m wrong. lol
I enjoy all your recipes too!

I’m going to give your sourdough a go.
I baked a lot during covid and there’s nothing like fresh baked bread in the over and a fresh pot of coffee brewing.
I like your recipes because you make it seem so easy. Much appreciated.

Beautiful area with lots of shade but the heat gets to me at my age. I love my Smokey Joe. It's perfect for one or two people and lasts forever. You're the guy we'd all wish for in the wilderness or stranded on a remote island

How lovely to get sway for a few days. Been watching the nomads since last year. They are always out in the desert, it’s too desolate for me. Brown everywhere. So how many snakes do you encounter? Are ticks a problem? I love to see the topography of new places!.you video your community, downtown, I will watch! This was very nice.

It's the ticks that would worry me more, but that's cuz I'm a city dweller and snakes are uncommon. I'd set up.a canopy of some sort if the wind isn't strong enough to pull it down.

This makes me want to go camping!! I only ever went to KOA campsites when I was young. Havent been camping at a national park but it looks nice. I liked to see how you built your fire, definetely learned something new. Nothing like a campfire to put you in the camping spirits and also the smokiness factor to add flavor to food.
