  • This is the twelfth installment in a micro-series diving deep into my collection of minuscule synthesizers and samplers. Each episode will explore one tiny synthesizer.
Put on your safety glasses! Today we look at the PO-16 Factory, a Pocket Operator spawned from the collaboration of Teenage Engineering and Cheap Monday. This was one of the first set of Pocket Operators, and acted as the melody maker, alongside the Sub’s bass and Rhythm’s rhythms. I just recently picked it up, as I have always been interested in its glitchy sounds. It certainly delivers the grit! It plays like a higher pitched Sub and has the same set of crunchy fx. I look forward to putting it into the PO lineup and creating some new multi-layered PO glitch-hop tunes.
Let me know if there’s any synth you’d like to hear more of, and I’ll add it to the short list for future episodes. Also please let me know if there’s anything particular that you’d like to learn more about in a short tutorial or demo. Thanks for watching; enjoy!
