Saw both Pontiac shows, the first was the best show I've ever seen hands down. Wasn't even mad Jake didn't sing at all. Life will Never will be the same, ever. At one point it was as if the whole crowd were marionettes_ dance safely

Been following them since 2017...Westville Music Bowl run was my 25th Umph show, not including the countless couch tours...I'm well over 50 shows! They seemingly get better every time. 2 more shows coming up in 2 weeks, lets go!
Cats are stone rock steady, serious & precise clearly indicating it's all about the music...brilliantly transitioning to & combining numerous genres effortlessly. These serious guys are a brutal force to be reckoned with. Clear indication of a band that uses their heads for something other than HATRACKS.

There is a lot of great music under the "jam" umbrella my friend. Don't discredit the entire genre or you could miss out on incredible gems like Umphrey's!

@@zeldaworld7 many uploaders take care not to bloat their uploads w/ ads and the best ones even place them skillfully, like in this case, between songs might have been nice. Guess it depends on whether the one in charge of the upload cares about how it affects the viewing experience for all viewers, not just the ones on red or who use adblock.
Well it was good while it lasted. But these guys can't play anymore. You guys were on fire in 2004-2010. Then the decline happened with "Death by Stereo". and now were left with this. So long everyone, I'm off the bigger and brighter things
Sounds like they play just as tight as they always have. You may not like the newer songs, but they are more talented now than they've ever been. That's what happens when you practice anything; you get better at it. I really had a blast during the 2004-2010 years as well, but UM was never going to be a band that didn't evolve. Who knows, they could move into a completely new direction by next year. It's not like they pulled a Phish and started cranking out garbage for a decade, to the point that half the setlist are shitty songs. Even the UM songs that I don't particularly care for have great jams that are original to each performance. This setlist is mostly songs from pre-2010 anyway.
lol pretty sure we're all pretty involved in getting smashed, movin n' groovin while UM melts our faces... not sure why there needs to be much more crowd involvement but mkay Mr. Bieber-Boomer

They kind of fall in that same category as Phish where they're a prog band masquerading as a jam band.
Really like this more "jazz infused" set. Also, when Jake sings it always reminds me of Zappa. Umphluv forever!
