Here I am sharing how to make DVD Rose.. Plz check out the full video..
Materials Required
1. Old DVD
2. Scissors
3. Marker
4. Candle
5. Hot Glue Gun
6. Sharp cutter
Procedure of DVD Rose tutorial
1. First take an old DVD and separate the DVD using a sharp cutter as shown in the video.
2. Now with scissors, cut the DVD in to small parts like this.
3. Then draw a petal shape on the DVD piece with a marker.
4. Cut all the DVD parts to make the petals shape.
5. Now show each DVD petal over the candle flame.. Then bent it slowly as shown in the video.
6. Do the same steps for all the DVD petals. Be careful while doing the same..
7. Now cut one centre and bend it as shown..
8. Now you can attach each DVD petal one by one to the center piece with a hot glue gun..
Wow.. Now your DVD Rose is ready..

One of the best CD DIYs I've seen yet! VERY cool!! I impulse purchsed a box of 3000!! Yes, that's 3 THOUSAND, unused CDs with just under a 1000 of em DVDs, at a yard sale for 10 bones!! LOL. You can imagine my husband's look when he saw this BIG ass box in the garage with more of these things than we saw or used, in our lifetimes. HA.
The DVD CAN be separated just like the CDs. The great part is...depending on what they are, some are purple like this. Some are almost a translucent silver! And others are like...am ocean green. BEAUTIFUL colors. And they're badASS when heated. That crackling ya know? I made a divine wall sculpture. VERY mid century modern is. But without that 5grand price tag and ya can NOT tell they're repurposed CDs & DVD.
Anybow, I have a metric assload left. Of course. Lol
Now I know what to do with several more dozen of em!!
I have a couple dozen glass tubes (the glass baking tubes from the vintage 'Bake-A-Round' baking pans. Also mid century..) Maybe a tiny string of LEDs running through em in a glass tube. Cement bottom. Be GREAT deck decor.

I would try using a heat gun rather than a flame to prevent soot. Very lovely otherwise.

@@racheltiffany9892 I bought my heat gun at Walmart for $5 and I even have one that I found at Walmart for $2 and a pack of glue sticks were $2 so they aren’t very expensive at all unless ur looking at the suped up fancy ones which trust me are pointless a cheap glue gun does exactly what expensive glue guns do

I hope your protecting your lungs the fumes from adding fire to your petals are probably not s good for you. I know its faster and obviously affordable using the flame, however just a thought and not sure how much safer it would be because of the heat maybe a craft heat gun on a stand to soften . I have a few heat guns my craft one only cost about 10 canadian dollars and would do the trick I think. I have a CD DVD project I am going to try soon so I will give the heat gun a try ill leave the outcome for you. =)

Nice work! But, can we use old CDs also.
I suspect this IS a CD she's using. Either way, you can indeed use CDs AND DVD. With either one...you'll have a clear piece and tinted one. The tinted ones are always this purple, a liquid looking silver (those are VERY cool) and that sea green color DVDs usually have. You'll see lots of folks say you can only do THIS^ with CDs but that is SO not true. Lol
And...a bonus!? Was for me anyway...if you get them close to flame say...on a gas stove, by just saying them directly on low flame? They crackle. And it's AMAZING looking. LOL
Ps. If you use gas stove top, wrap tin foil around your burner grate before you start. Save yourself the headache of cleaning melted plastic off of iron if it gets too hot....lol
Use some leather gloves, the thin kind for gardening .
