As someone going thru infertility, I can completely understand wanting one of these dolls. I can see why it would be hard to understand why any adult would want a doll that looks so lifelike. But when you’ve longed to hold your own baby for so so long, I’m starting to understand why some people would buy these. Please don’t judge people for the things that may help them
To be honest I am a man and my wife loves these so I started searching about them to be honest we been married for 7 years and it touches me so deep to see how gentle handling these dolls! Mothers are mothers even if they never had babies! It feels so natural to them and it amazes me to see it and truly makes me relax watching how gentle they get touching these dolls! It is so beautiful to watch a woman just being a mother ♥️

Se non avete figli la bambola sostituera'un bambino vero? Ho capito bene? Io se non avrei avuto figli facevo di tutto per adottarlo, non mi compravo la bambola che sembrano bambini morti. Ci sono tanti bambini che vogliono essere adottati altro che bambole... So'che costano da 1500 a 2000 euro i pannolini i vestiti costosi il biberon la culla il carrozzino ma fatemi il piacere con questi soldi fate beneficenza ai bambini poveri.

It's very normal, don't let anyone tell you it isn't! Better to have a reborn or silicone then a real baby at your age. Believe me people will act like you've lost your mind pretending like it's a real baby or that they are creepy...don't worry about it, yours is the only voice and feelings that count.

It's an amazingly realistic doll. I do find it unsettling though. During my nursing career, I worked 10 years in labour and delivery. Some mothers would come to us because they hadn't felt the baby move in a day or two. Tragically, it was often a fetal demise. This reminded me of 'stillborn' care. Preparing, cleaning, and dressing their limp, still bodies so the family could hold them and take photos. The only difference was the colour. The doll is pink. The stillborn babies were pale or dusky except their lips looked dark red or dark purple against their ashen faces. I know this is just a type of doll that some people like to collect. I just watched it out of curiosity, but it brought back memories of lost babies and their grieving families.

Ma io se me la regalano non me la prendo, ho bambole bambolotti bamboline piccole da quando ero ragazza giocano le mie nipotine. Ma queste mi mettono ansia mi fanno una brutta impressione.
I'm a little freaked out how real she looks, however I am more impressed than anything else, that doll is gorgeous, the artistry and detail in the skin tone, fingers, the softness and flexibility of the silicone. Just Wow!!!

Im the mother of five,the youngest is 52. Even though the artistry of this doll is unbelievable excellent, I can only think of a dead baby. We handled oue 2yr old grandson's funeral, and it was tramatic! This beautiful doll no longer looks like a toy baby doll, but a deceased baby!

I understand many elderly find comfort in holding dolls as they revert back to childhood or folks with developmental issues, but beyond that an adult playing with a doll is very odd. It gives me the willies
Well I don’t “play” with them the way you are insinuating, so I could not comment on that. But also, it’s kind of a neat though to think not everyone loses their imagination and fun because they get old. To each their own ✌🏻

What do you do with them? Do you display them in a case, or have them set up around your home? Do you actually play with them like kids play with dolls - Changing them, dressing them, imaginary roleplay stuff? I dunno much about this hobby (I understand that some folks use it as a therapy and that makes sense) but I’m curious about what people actually do with the dolls they collect!
Nah so they are displayed sort of in a room. They one lays in a soft like baby pillow… silicone can be dented by sharp corners etc. There is a lot of photography in the hobby, and mostly I just enjoy looking at them. I don’t rile play or pretend they are real. It’s an art doll - hard to describe why I want them. I am so wowed by the realism and think they are so cute, so it’s like any other collectible I guess that you just enjoy having, except this elicits the “so cute” response.

They are limited edition and this doll is one of a kind. Collectors are happy for each other when they have purchased a doll they wanted and added it to their collection. Imagine you collected old cars, for example, and won an auction of a sought after model in great condition.

It isn’t just a toy doll. It happens to be a high-end collectible for adults. These are extremely realistic representations of actual babies made of the very best silicone so that they are flexible and have real baby skin tones, veining, and often have hair which is applied strand by strand. They wear actual preemie or newborn baby clothes and are very appealing to women for many reasons which you apparently would not be able to understand, so why did you watch this video in the first place? So that you could make fun of the collectors? I suggest that you go elsewhere for your entertainment if this doesn’t make sense to you!

While I can appreciate the artistry of the doll, it looks like a stillborn infant to me. I hope no mother who had a stillbirth looks at this as it will be very upsetting and mentally devastating. If I’m honest it’s a bit creepy for me.
I did give birth to a baby girl who was stillborn. I actually feel like holding one of these dolls could have been very therapeutic for me. I know they are dolls, but you definitely do have to appreciate the amazing artistry! There is so much judgement in our world. I think if a hobby makes you happy, it's great!

It is so realistic...truly amazing work...but, what is the purpose of purchasing such a thing...for the artistry? It seems grown people have just lost it. If you have lost a child forgive me, but I just think there are real children out there who could use a good home.
I think it is a confusing and bizarre statement for people to see someone who appreciates a highly “advanced” collectible doll and thinks it makes sense to suggest they adopt a human child. Sort of presumptuous and irresponsible, IMO. I’m a doll collector.

I personally think these dolls are creepy, yet incredibly artistic, but it's like ANY collector out there. These dolls are insanely expensive, and can be sold for even MORE $$$. Some people like collecting coins, or old cars, and some like these one of a kind sculptures. This lady said she made a down payment on her house by selling some of her dolls. You're probably thinking of the people who pretend these dolls are their real offspring.
Here's a thought...if you cannot improve the world with noise, remain silent. You've got ZERO idea about these dolls and the important role they fill for the people who love them. Empathy is not your strong suit, huh? You're extremely lucky...those of you who have said these things because you need never watch another video about dolls! What i do when i need to play with a doll is taking my normal doll which i have since i was 4 years old. As you can do the same things with it. We must know and be aware of the difference between a baby and a doll. And if you have the need to play, just take a normal toy

Genuine question; why do you collect these dolls? What do you get out of it? Do you feel differently to this doll as opposed to a 'normal/regular' doll? Do you have children of your own? If so, what do they think about this interest?

Hi Erin. I appreciate and totally understand your questions and comments. While I am sure there are some collectors that treat these dolls as babies for me that doesn’t go any further than thinking this is the coolest freaking expression of the ultimate goal when I was a little kid and loved dolls. Other than that it is an art doll. It was sculpted by hand by an artist, who, then also created a mold from it, and poured silicone into it. That in and of itself is not an easy feat, and has taken many many years to perfect. That artist, then also painted the doll to give it the features that make it more than just blank silicone. About three decades ago certain doll artists started taking manufactured, dolls, and seeing if they could make them more realistic. The art has evolved and transformed over many years. I just love looking at them, I think they are adorable. There is an entire community of collectors, and a huge part of that is photography as well. Realistically, grown women have been collecting dolls for a very, very long time. A lot of that was in the form of porcelain dolls. My grandmother also collected rag dolls and stuffed animals on top of porcelain dolls, and even a mannequin.

This is the most bizarre comment ever, probably. You watched a box opening. Of a collectible doll. Where in that do you see me playing with a doll all day? Do a search. Reborn dolls and art dolls are an entire thing. I am a doll collector, and these are not play dolls. I have a senior level corporate job, own a home, and have a life. This is a hobby.
It's probably not the most bizarre comment as I've seen much worse. However, I have seen others (maybe not this lady) who bath/dress/feed and have sleeping patterns for these dolls as if they were living babies. Perhaps it is my failure to understand but the behaviors I have stated above is what I find "bizarre".
