For example, when one considers the symbolism of the plumb, one could take into consideration the depictions of three columns, with the central path being the narrow path. This central path is dark at the bottom and light at the top. Can one turn lead (in one's pencil) into gold? Can one make the dark light? One is a lighthouse keeper and it is one's responsibility to allow one's light to shine from the highest point. Be brilliant, be bright, be illuminating as opposed to being dull and not very bright.
Let me share a thought with you: I found a phrase that has stuck with me as a direction in life: "Always have a straight spine, as if a lead wire were hanging from the crown of the head through the spine..." But to have the right column you must have right understanding (based on knowledge), right thinking, right speech, right actions, right existence, right effort and right attention, which alone can purify your mind.
What they won't tell you is that the Hebrew word for "plummet" in Amos is inarguably Sumerian, from ANNA, "lead/tin," literally "Sky/Heaven stone." The Hebrew scribes would have been well aware of the placement of a Sumerian termed item in the hand of God.
