Double clicking in the log file was the big "Aha" moment. Not obvious at all. Was trying to map my nanokeys to Key commands but kept receiving error DATA cant be blank. Thank you
Not sure if you're checking these any more, just found the software and it will really fit my needs to convert a spare launchpad pro to button box for sims and other things but I have an issue with setting button colour, it doesn't seem to work.
I go in, set send midi as active, use the Launchpad config system to set a LP Pro button to a strange colour, set it and save but the button is still unlit on my LP and even if I press the button it stays off.
I've got it set to Live mode and I was hoping to be able to have the buttons be different colours for different commands that are set in it. Is that something that's actually possible (seems so from watching your Train Sim vid) or am I trying to solve a problem with no current solution?
Is it possible to use midi key2key for the faders? I'm very new to this program and I don't have an akai (novation Launch Control XL). I've learned how to connect the buttons to hotkeys of various programs but I can't figure this one out
Hi, thanks for the tutorials and software they are super! I am using my APC Mini with Assetto Corsa Competizione and using MidiKey2Key to use it as a button box to change controls in game. I was wondering if you had any knowledge on if the leds on the apc controller could be used to show the status of shared telelmetry data in the game such as rev counts, fuel, tyre pressure & temps etc? Thanks again
MK2K cannot do this. Ot only can read status data from train sinulator. It is possible. There are addons which read telemetry data from AC nut it would require a lot of coding in an extended version of MK2K to access the data.
And anotherr time for iracing. And another time for project cars. And another time for raceroom and so on ... They all an individual method to access the data.

Thanks for the tutorial! I'd like to map my APCmini to Ableton so that each key has an on/off LED setting (separate from behaviour of all other keys) so that, for example, I can map an effect to each key, and know whether that effect is on or off by the LED colour. Is that possible with MidiKey2Key?
I do not know exactly, what You want. To send commands to ABleton, MidiKEy2Key is not needed. ABleton knows the APCmini. Reading back custom states from Ableton is not possible with MidiKey2Key - such is only possibe with Train Simulator, because it has the ability for reading out data via an API.

Is it possible to do this with the APC40?
Coloring the lights on APC is really handy. But - it there a chance for "toggle light" function? Let's say, I got logo or lower third in OBS. I want to toggle it with APC - it's easy, key pressed on APC will trigger the shortcut, in OBS I can set the same shortcut for showing/hiding the layer (if you set same shortcut to both show and hide layer, it will work as toggle). But In MIDIKey2Key I can set the LED to off only with another button, not with the same (toggle), so I will need two buttons for hiding/showing desired layer and get visual response on APC.

Can I change with this program the cc notes on each button so that I can remap it to control another midi hardware device?
Cx and nites are two different things. Yes, You can change MIDI envents to others . But You cannot take the Data2 byte to You new destination.

Nice Video! I want to use Arrow keys using my MIDI keyboard, I tried it as well, but it is not working in my desired program(Ableton Live). It is working in text editors and other programs but not in ableton. Do you have any suggestion?
Unfortunately not. MIDIKEY2KEY uses 1 of 2/3 possible ways to inject keypresses. Ableton seems not to respond on these. Does Ableton not have a built-in Interface to control it via MIDI, like Cubase has? Or Mackie Control, which is a standard fot this?
@@77558 I am using Launchkey Mini Mk3 and there are ways to control Ableton Live using it, like recording and launching clips, editing diff parameters, etc. But I wanted to add arrow keys on custom page for navigation. And MIDI mapping interface can only map buttons that are available on the screen in ableton.

Hi, I would likento change the Channel of the 5:33 because it is sending notes on Channel 1 and I want to use 2 Akai APC mini controlling the same software to have more faders and PADs, is it possible with this software or any similar?
Sure. You need a basic understanding of MIDI. 90 is the channel number 1. 91 is channel 2 and so on in HEX. After 99 comes A0. Understand?
There is a small drop down control named "MIDI Ch."
Using 2 controller with one instance of MK2K is also possible when You use a MIDI Thru connection on one APC mini or a MIDI merging device. Or you would need 2 MIDI interfaces or an interface with more than one MIDI-In. Or use a virtual MIDI Cable software.

If does work with the launchkey. Check the manual of the launchkey how to use the different user-modes.
I've got a launchpad mini, how do I do the same as this?
The launchpad has rgb LEDs. To set certain colours there must some more bytes to be sent. I figured this out (based on the MIDI-manual of the launchpad of novation) and sent another user, who asked me, a mesage how to do this.
