    Hi there. 351C engines built in 1969 were "M" codes. They were 300 bhp with an 11:0: 1 compression. There are no 351C cobra jet engines available in 1970 for Mustangs, that I could find in Ford Stats or other places. Hope this helps and check that Vin#. Cheers from Dearborn, Mi.

    Well that's a boss 9 scoop not a shaker and yes all 70s had rear maker lights. It was state law in 68 for all cars to have front and rear. And every 70 I've seen has them including mine. Unless its custom quarters or shaved. And the deluxe Interior was available in many other models. But you were right about most the other stuff

      I have had 1970 and 69 mustangs for years it all started back in 1978 for me 1970 is not a boss the scoop is from a cougar my 70 has custom quarters on it so no marker lights on it

    A lot of your information on these two cars is just flat wrong. Not all 1969 fastbacks had the simulated quarter scoop. 1969 Boss 302 Mustangs did not get the quarter scoop. The 1970 Mustang is quite possibly a small block car from the factory as it doesn't appear to have the shocktower reinforcement plates that the big block cars and Boss 302's got and it has the small factory radiator. You could get a shaker scoop on any Mustang with a 351 or larger engine in 1970. The exception being the Boss 429.

      All fastback plain Jane and all 69 mach1 did get the scoop if you listen and read my title of my video I clearly stated that I never said that 69 boss mustangs got the scoop

      @@The1965catalina in your video you stated "all 69 fastbacks, only fastbacks had that quarter scoop and Mach 1's". Last I checked a Boss 302 is fastback Mustang with a unique engine. Also, the export brace on the 1970 does not denote a CJ. They did not come on CJ Mustangs. They only came on Mustangs being exported (hence the term export brace) and Shelbys. They are one of the most reproduced aftermarket Mustang parts and have been added to thousands and thousands of Mustangs by owners over time, and still to this day.

      Ahhhh ok Thank You! I live in San Diego CA & I've been searching for a 69 Mach 1 & 69 fastback for years to restore. My Grandfather use to work for Ford in the 40's & I would help him in his own personal garage with restoration. If you know of anyone who has either one of those great machines of history, if you wouldn't mind letting me know! Thank You again Sir!

    It is a simple matter to identify those cars... by the VINs.
    1969 (the 5th digit/letter identifies the Engine that came with the car):
    F=Engine Code((F-302cu V8 2B, G-302cu V8 4B Boss, H-351cu V8 2B, L-250cu V6, M-351cu V8 4B, Q-428cu V8 4B Cobra Jet Big Block, R-428cu V8 4B Cobra Jet Big Block Ram Air, T-200cu V6, Z-429cu V8 4B Boss)
    1970 (same 5th digit/letter):
    F=Engine Code((F-302cu V8 2B, G-302cu V8 2B Boss, H-351cu V8 2B, L-250cu V6, M-351cu V8 2B, Q-428cu V8 2B Cobra Jet Big Block, R-428cu V8 2B Cobra Jet Big Block Ram Air, T-200cu V6, Z-429cu V8 2B Boss)
    Relying on parts to identify a car is never reliable, since anyone can change a part. What I noticed was the paint ("grabber" blue) that is on the passenger fender (with the "Boss" decal), also on the panel below the rear window, on the passenger side roof rear panel, the rocker panel below the door, and on the hood and headlight mouldings. This would indicate that, unless someone went to a lot of cost and trouble, that the '70 is most likely a Boss 302 Mustang. As for the Export Brace, the same brace was used from 1965 until 1970 and they all were one piece (ford part number C5ZZ-16A052-E ).
    These cars are worth restoring back to original, but to do so you need to know for sure what you have. From just your video, I would believe that you probably have a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang in Grabber Blue. But, as I began this reply, it is a simple matter to check and know for certain (without speculating or relying on installed parts) what the car is and what factory equipment was installed.
