- Got this mac from the VCF Southeast 2023 adventure. This one is in unknown condition but it turns out we run into multiple faults along the way. Enjoy!

So impressive. The quest around the memory expansion board was super exciting ;) Great video. Thanks.
Had the same problem a few years ago - like you techknight i tried other memory expansion cards , then tried them in other machines and concluded the problem of not seeing the extra 3mb of ram was on the board - not being able to read schematics i looked at the board , at the caps that leaked , where the goo usually flows to , at the chips on the board that were connected to memory and started looking for continuity from each pin to a via on a trace coming from that pin - from sheer frustration i kept going until i got to that exact same chip and found 2 broken connections on that chip - guessing the electrolite must have ate the solder between the pin and pad .......... like you i ran wires , 2 of them and it worked - got my full 4 mb ......... delighted your doing vids again techknight
That is a great idea to use those cheap Chinese belts as bumper replacements, I have a bunch of those and will use them for my next project.
Quite the adventure! Cool to see it live another day.
It's not battery bombed. There is that.
I wouldn't give that drive much time before it fails completely (or at least starts giving errors). They're made in a clean room and when you open them they start oxidizing from the moisture in the air. The film and particles that are introduced will keep the heads from reading or cause a head crash.
I would highly recommend that you back that drive up as soon as possible...
These hard drives are not hermetically sealed to begin with. They are always open to the atmosphere with a small pinhole.
Does he still do amplifier repairs?
It's not my day job anymore. But I am thinking about getting back into it on the side
@@THEtechknightI have this kicker amp looks like in your old vids you repaired one exactly I been trying to find someone who can repair it how much would it cost
@@Luiunknown it's not something I can give an accurate estimate without seeing it, also the semiconductor shortage has put a lot of my amplifier projects on hold.
@@THEtechknight yeah I understand and if could would you be near Florida?
