Not just the 1990s. Because Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club went and backtracked and Hallmark redid the ones American Greetings messed up, there is actually a Hallmark ornament for every Holiday year.
The Ken doll was accidentally gay. It’s 90’s rave fashion not gay fashion , however 90’s rave fashion was defined by gay men.

Ok so the story behind Magic Earring Ken was while doin market research they found a lot of ppl saying Ken wasn't as cool or dressed lame. So they went to clubs to see what trendy, young men were wearing since the club scene/aesthetic was becoming more popular. These clubs were of course gay clubs of the time but the folks doing research were clueless heterosexuals who didn't know what certain accessories meant. So the intention was not to make Ken "gay" but cooler. I think they did a good job considering how well the sales were lol
"Little girls in the 90s were obsessed with stationary.." ..... Me being a little girl in the 90s who was obsessed with stationary and who owned all those barbies 😳😳😍

Okay but go back and look at pics of Trixie from the season 7 finale and oh my god how she’s grown. Even though the makeup and dress and hair are still the same style just the sophistication, expertise, and glamour she’s developed is outstanding. What a talented woman 😭

Some of the Barbie collector dolls even recently are incredible. I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Athena doll from like 2014??? Resells for $300 right now. I used to also collect a stupid amount of Monster High Dolls. I have dolls from the 1st wave launch and my Lagoona Blue sells for like $500.
Gurl! My favorite 90s Barbie hands down, is Rollerblade Barbie. I loved that doll so much. I used to still have at least one Rollerblade left from her little feet, but I have not seen it in several years. That shit sparks when you roll it! I was like, this Barbie looks dope, and is dope. She had the cutest outfit ever and I remember wanting one for myself but, they didn't make shit like that for little girls.
As a teen in the 90s i am well aware of the “ring” conspiracy. I also know we often gave our class rings to the people we were dating. Since logically the female could potentially rap yarn around the one given to her to allow her to wear it on her finger they were still verg large and masculine. The one girls gave to guys were often too small and girlie so the fad became putting them some sort of necklace/string/chains (ball chains, log chains etc. 90s teens know what im talking about) to allow it to be worn around the neck without all the hassle of size/ comfort etc.
the idea of boys giving their girlfriends their class rings also goes back to the 50s and 60s! there’s a line in “it’s my party” by lesley gore thats like “judy’s wearing his ring”, and they also mention ring wearing in grease. i didnt realize they still did that in the 90s
In the Rappin rockin Barbie series each boombox plays a different part of what must be the most epic bop. They’re meant to be played simultaneously, it’s probably what heaven sounds like.
Movin’ Groovin’ Barbie was one of the first Barbies I ever got growing up. I remember all of Barbie’s friends had that same dress pattern and shoes, but in different colors. As a little 5 year old back then, having a Barbie that walked was the best thing ever. I still have her, although she’s a little rough looking from years of play.
I have a distinct memory of my grandma coming to town and bringing the movin groovin Barbie. I still have it somewhere in my parents house. The walking mechanism never work that great but I was obsessed with the outfit and the boots! I think that was one of the last Barbies I've got.
After watching this series, my love for over priced old barbies is rekindled! I remember just looking at Around The World barbies or other collectible barbies that are all decked out and beautiful. Also, I wonder if Trixie has Oreo Barbie? Cuz my sister got one as a kid, kept it boxed. Because she thought she would be able to sell it. It hasn’t really blowed up, but she’s kinda lit lmao
can we talk about Trixie wearing the same face and outfit as the holiday barbie? Like I'm 99% sure the tule on her dress is an exact replica of the tule on babies dress, down to the silver star burst detail!

I AM HERE FOR THIS. I had a killer Barbie collection in the 90's with many of these, and used to idolize Ruth Handler like Athena. My cousins were so pissed when mom bought me Becky, the wheelchair Barbie.

Oh, so many memories!! On the subject of "Ken with real hair": does anyone remember the Ken with a beard and a razor? We could "shave" him with hot water or something. I LOVED that one - even after the thing stopped working and he ended up with a weird-looking mustache 🤣
OMG YES! As a boy in a conservative family I would never the allowed to have barbies, so when I saw this Ken I somehow convinced my mom that I should get that because was not a doll was an "action-figure" and that would teach me how to shave because the Ken came with a shaving kit. OMG that takes me back so much.
YEEESSSSSSSS♥!!!!! my sisters and I used to share our dolls and toys and I have such a vivid memory of my two sisters fighting over this Ken hahahahha... oooh the 90's♥!!!!
I had that cowgirl Barbie with the stamping shoes. My down-home, dairy-farming, Shania Twain-obsessed Baby Miss Wisconsin ass was head over heels in love with her.
"My body bends so easily in all the hottest moves, and you can stand me up in my suction cup shoes" would have been such a great all stars 3 entrance line
I had shaver ken too! With Old spice!!! I think I actually had two! Loved that shit (fast forward.... basically bullied my bf into growing a beard.... it all makes sense now)
I'm dating myself, but the original Shave Magic Ken was in the late 70's or came out in 1980. He wore some jogging shorts and not much else. He came with a washable magic marker to draw on his beard. There was a little "razor" blade shaved made out of black sponge. You dipped it in warm water to "shave off" his "beard". I think he had real hair too. Super Star Barbie and Christie fought over him. I was already doing the interracial swirl couple then. Hmmm, says a lot about my dating, now married life !!😂😂😂
"my body bends so easily, in all the hottest moves" made me think of Yuhua's "my hot and flexible body allows me to exercise in all different positions"
“If you would like to see more of these videos..” mama there’s 20 more years of recorded history that we need your doll commentary on. What is this? Give us the 2000’s and 10’s
2000s & 2010s barbies are terrible. Early 2000s are okay, but hardly any iconic dolls, and all the 2010 dolls are cheap as fuck and lack any creativity. As a collector myself, we all tend to avoid these doll lines. Iconic 2000s doll: Jewel girl barbie Princess and the Pauper dolls. That’s it. 2010s: NONE.
@@Adv18 The Fashion Fever dolls were iconic as far as I remember, they even had that Barbie Loves Benetton and Barbie Top Model collection which are quite hard to get at a reasonable price, the early movies dolls are pretty well made as far as collectors item goes
Workin out Barbie was my very first doll! I loved her and I'm so sad now that all my Barbies got tossed out when I got "too old" for them. Love that Trixie is living her dream now with this collection.
Trixie, we need this series to continue 🙏🏻 you could integrate a “New Dolls” series where you show us new dolls Mattel has released or you have added to your collection 💕 please, girl!

I think this was my favorite episode of the series because I had several of these Barbies and even the ones I didn't have I remember. I love hearing Trixie talk about and educate us on Barbie!!!
I remember most of these dolls from Barbie magazine and Barbie sticker magazine we had in the 90s, oh how I dreamt of playing with them, the Birthday Barbie, the rappin rockin collection, so gorgeous! Among other white-hair-blue-eyes dolls she stood tall and divine! She was so beautiful ❤️
I’m screaming I had the working out barbie, you singing that song literally gave me a flash back!!! I used to play that cassette all the time rewind it then start it again!! I had forgotten about that till now!!

I remember having a "shaver" Ken, his face was heat reactive and he could "grow" a beard in hot water. Came with a tiny shaving cream.
I had shaver ken too! With Old spice!!! I think I actually had two! Loved that shit (fast forward.... basically bullied my bf into growing a beard.... it all makes sense now)
Yes I had him too! But then my friend suggested trying to permanently shave him with a real razor..
YESSS I had shaver Ken too!
Hmmm, says a lot about my dating, now married life !!😂😂😂
Shavin Fun Ken!
Gurl you whippin’ out movin’ groovin’ barbie gave me war flashbacks of my own childhood I REMEMBER THAT EYEBURNING OUTFIT
"my body bends so easily, in all the hottest moves" made me think of Yuhua's "my hot and flexible body allows me to exercise in all different positions"
“If you would like to see more of these videos..”
mama there’s 20 more years of recorded history that we need your doll commentary on. What is this? Give us the 2000’s and 10’s
Trixie reading the first doll as if a version of the gown, makeup, and hair aren’t currently on her body is just...*chefs kiss*
sometimes i see brian through the trixie makeup & it’s unsettling in the best way possible
Trixie, what about the 2000’s Barbie? Will we see an episode with the 21st century dolls?
2000s & 2010s barbies are terrible.
Early 2000s are okay, but hardly any iconic dolls, and all the 2010 dolls are cheap as fuck and lack any creativity.
As a collector myself, we all tend to avoid these doll lines.
Iconic 2000s doll:
Jewel girl barbie
Princess and the Pauper dolls.
@@Adv18 then at least she can make a video on how awful the dolls are
PLEASE DO THE 2000’S I’M BEGGING YOU THIS IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK
Workin out Barbie was my very first doll! I loved her and I'm so sad now that all my Barbies got tossed out when I got "too old" for them. Love that Trixie is living her dream now with this collection.
I did not expect to be sucked into a time warp when I saw Birthday & Holiday Barbie. I can literally smell the plasticky dress. My entire everything.
Trixie, we need this series to continue 🙏🏻 you could integrate a “New Dolls” series where you show us new dolls Mattel has released or you have added to your collection 💕 please, girl!
Yes
ASAP.
PLEASE do more of these - this series is one of the best things I’ve seen during lockdown (speaking as a completely neutral 90s child and barbie lover)
This exact video inspired me to start collecting all my childhood barbies again. Thanks Trixie!
Omg I'm such a 90s kid... These are the dolls that speak to me the most
The only notifications I have are Trixie and the guy that sells me my drugs.
Priorities.
You are living right 👍🏻
Lol
I love that
But are you sure they aren't the same person. Have you ever seen them together in the same room?
Katya, is that you?
"nothing is more ridiculous than this dress" - Said Trixie, in the dress.
Honestly, these doll videos are the best content on UA-cam.
I think this was my favorite episode of the series because I had several of these Barbies and even the ones I didn't have I remember. I love hearing Trixie talk about and educate us on Barbie!!!
Cant wait for the 2000s, then you'll show dolls I remember!!
😂😂😂😂
I don't think she's doing it since this is the last installment of this series, but maybe if we beg and plead enough lmaoooo
@@elidiac5045 I hope so!!!!!!!!
I’m just going to go ahead and quote Britney Spears and say, “GIMME MORE”
I remember most of these dolls from Barbie magazine and Barbie sticker magazine we had in the 90s, oh how I dreamt of playing with them, the Birthday Barbie, the rappin rockin collection, so gorgeous! Even though I never got those (I'm not even sure they were sold in our country) I had the most mesmerising stunning doll ever: Indian Barbie.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage...”Melanoma Brown”
That's exactly what I thought! 🤣🤣
That really is a good name...
Why is gay Ken the most attractive Ken?
Not a coincidence I think.
WORKIN OUT BARBIE 😭😭😭 still a bop. Trixie we need a full cover moment.
The movin' groovin' barbie hurled me down memory lane. The shoes on that barbie were the only thing I remembered 😂
This series was everything. I'll be devastated if it ends here.
Melissa Mayhaps AGREED. I’ve been checking anxiously every day for a new episode! We need all the joy we can get. 💝
