- With lyrics taken straight from the Bible (Psalm 37:7, 42:1, 46:10 and Isaiah 7:4) this has become one of my favorite songs I've ever recorded. The beauty of strings coupled with their intensity remind me of the struggle that often exists when attempting to trust God with all the things we'd rather control ourselves.
Even as I type these words, the world outside my home is covered under a think blanket of snow. The schools in Middle Tennessee ground to a halt, most of Nashville did, with roads more treacherous than we're used to navigating. We've been FORCED to stop and to rest. To depend on the provisions we have. To realize that even without school, appointments, sports, rehearsals and quick trips to the grocery store...the world keeps on spinning.
No one wants to be forced to rest, but thankfully, our God has INVITED us into His rest. Through daily sleep, the weekly Sabbath, and ultimately through His Son Jesus. "Come to Me" Jesus said, "all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest...learn from Me...you will find rest for your souls." (Matt 11:28-29)

This song reminds me of Jesus, of His power over our circumstanses. When there seems to be no way, He is the way. If there is nothing I can do when I suffer from loneliness, depression, anxiety etc. I can always just lay on my bed and wait - wait things to pass, wait someone to call me, wait for Holy Spirit to speak to my heart, wait I have enough power to read the Bible for comfort. Wait for Jesus. ❤ He is Hope.

The Lord God of Israel truly works in mysterious ways! He's been taking me into alot about rest the past week, I even saw a sign that said come and find rest. Then today he was speaking about spiritual winter and rest because my dad mentioned the drought was going to cause trees to go dormant early. So I started thinking about the spiritual lesson in trees going dormant (into a state of rest) then the Lord took me into the verse about seed time and harvest summer and winter then I thought wonder if there's a song about resting in the Lord and I find this song with the winter scenery. Bravo to Yah's perfect devine choreography! Also had been in Psalms 37 be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him

I have no income, care for my disabled sister who just had a serious surgery and is slowly recovering. I am constatly tired, and nauseous. My rent is way behind, I am not able to work at the moment, and am isolated. I want to rest but am struggling to break free from a condemnation relationship with God, wanting a Father/son relationship. He is so quiet in theses times. I need His rest. Pray for breakthrough for me and my family. Frredom from fear and sickness, and for peace to take over with healing power. Belssed be the name of the Lord.
