  • The long pull butterfly shooting can burst at a faster initial speed and may have a more graceful posture. However, the band always scratches the cheeks and makes many shooters very painful. In fact, a simple trick can solve this problem as I introduce in this video. 😄

Yeah, to tweak the pouch is always a good method to avoid cheek slaps and fork hits - but you also made an interesting sidenote in one of your other videos (about long draw): don't let the cheek touch the band BEFORE it's fully stretched. That note helped me a lot to feel secure again- after a painful shot :)
    Thanks a lot 👍😎🤙

Thank you so much for the tip about the thumb! I'd quit trying butterfly because of burnt cheeks. I watched the video last night and assembled some bands. This morning I'm on target and no burning. 👍

I've tried butterfly but was never any good at it. Thanks so much for the Intel. I will give it a try.

Thanks for the tip! I only tried butterfly style once and painfully removed about 1cm of beard! I shall cut a new set of bands and try again! 😁👍

i would have thought that was bad advice but you shoot so well that i'll do anything you say

right? thats what i was thinking cuz that seems to literaly be how you would get the speedbump affect

@@richyoung4051I thought the same thing. I would really like to know the “science” behind this technique. It seems counterproductive but it obviously works!

This surprises me (though it obviously works for you). This tweaking method is something I associate with pfs-style shooting, to get the projectile to go over the fork instead of hitting it. Do you have the same aiming point on the target while tweaking, as you have when not tweaking?

I also thaught the style was only useful for pfs, but I tried it on a regular fork and discovered on of the greatest tools for slingshotshooting
this technique cancels the possibility of a forkhit (if you use it right, if the tweak is directed in to the fork that's were it will go)
And for some people it can be really helpful to hit small targets at distance (I used the technique to hit a small lighter at 30meters with a 4,5mm bb)
*the reference point can be the same if you adjust the bandset to it

This type of shooting would be considered semi butterfly right? I have seen people full arms open, which I was told would be full butterfly (the actual most graceful posture to be hold)

In Butterfly/Albatross style shooting, do you WANT to touch your cheek, as a reference/anchor point?
    Thank you.

Band touching the cheek helps keep the shot steady

Awaiting your email response to the GZK website store - my query about a stainless steel slingshot in which the web page it is on, says "SHIPPING: Free shipping", but at checkout, a $16 shipping charge pops up.

Thinner bands may work better with a shorter cutting
