Zanna, I have followed you for so many years and I continue to love your content. It is so wholesome, inspiring, and thoughtfully made. Just wanted to say I appreciate your videos! :)
Thanks for the book recommendations! I’ve read midnight library and thoroughly loved it! Have a wonderful weekend and week!!
I genuinely live in my dressing gown (we call it a housecoat in Northern Ireland) and this has just made me love them even more - STUNNING SIS
I can't think of a better way to start my weekend than with a cuppa + a Zanna vlog - thanks babe! ❤
I feel so excited to read again! Love your recommendations!!!
Ooh I was waiting for the heatless curls 💁🏼♀️ thank yooooou! Now for the rest of the vid 😅
All of your videos are making me want to visit the UK! I’m in LOVE with those countryside views 😍
Zanna - the midnight library is life changing. I’ve had so many regrets or “what could have been” moments in my life. And it’s flipped all that on it’s head. Amazing book
I’m notorious for buying books and not reading them 🙈. I started using audible because I can now use my runs and the time while I’m cooking to listen to books and am totally addicted!
Love Nell Frizell‘s book - a journey that’s equally emotional, hilarious and thought provoking. Enjoy!
I fold my dressing gown tie in half, so the curls get a bit bigger and fuller. For shorter hair like yours to curl the back, angle the tie sort of backwards as you work your way down, so it kind of runs from the front and top of your head down over your ears and finish at the back of your head instead of at the side 🙌🏼 I also don’t do buns, just put the ties on at the end and am really cautious of wrapping it neatly, especially the ends wrapped, so I don’t end up with ragged strangely ends 👧🏼 so handy though, game changer!!
I love your book recommendations. There's always something different in there. Thank-you! 📚
Thanks for the book recommendations - I’m keen to read more this year so will add these to the list!
I love book recommendations, I'm always so overwhelmed when I go into a book shop by the choice.
I love this vlog 🤩 I discovered this hair trick during lockdown and it is a game changer for me. I have two kids and a job so I don't have much hair patience at all. I sleep on my back so luckily for me it doesn't affect my sleep.
Thank you for the book review, I will be taking a look at the essey one for sure looks very interesting.
I am exactly the same with TV or books, can't do both.
JoJo is actually living the dream, what a beautiful home, I can see why she's an inspiration to you.
Finally you looked absolutely gorgeous on your trip out.
Have a lovely week, look forward to seeing your Lake District trip as we're going to Kendal in the summer hols. X
Thanks Gemma! I sleep on my back too but for some reason it wasn’t comfy!! ♥️♥️
For the curls I’d recommend using smaller, thin bands to hold the hair at the bottom of the twist then take the remaining cord and cross it behind the back of your head then bring up to tie on the top of your head like a headband if that makes sense, still not perfect to sleep no but a lot less bulky. I’ve found I’ve got used to the feel of having it in and do sleep fine now.
Yay always here for book content! I really enjoyed Other Minds, being a neuroscientist myself. But I agree that it's quite science-y so best wait until you're in the right headspace :) Related to walking, I'd also totally recommend "Wayfinding" by Michael Bond. It's a book in which he investigates how crucial walking and wayfinding is to humans, and goes into how we navigate, both on a neuroscientific level but also on a societal / cultural level. I enjoyed it a lot!
Still use my Clairol heated rollers I bought in the 80’s! My old faithful! You can’t really sleep in those either but they do hold that curl. Great vlog Zanna. 🦋
The books look fab the 101 essays one has been on my list for ages! The Midnight Library is really good I enjoyed it a lot, and finished it in a couple of days!
I love your book recommendations!! I've been in the library queue for The Midnight Library since the beginning of the year 😅 everyone wants to read it!
Loved it. love the book recommendations.
Thanks for the all plants code, ordered first box so looking forward to trying them.
I also feel the struggle of juggling reading with other things! During the first lockdown i got into a really good habit of reading while I ate breakfast, but now I'm watching this video while I eat instead... so hard to fit everything in haha!
I’m the same when it comes to reading, I get so distracted on my phone that I have no time to read (as in I make no time for it)! I used to be such a bookworm as a kid/teen until the internet became more accessible lol! I love how talkative Bella is! She’s so cute!! ❤️❤️ xxxx
I know the struggle but sometimes I just force myself to leave my phone and laptop in another room and delve into a good book, I never regret it!
yes please share your book recommendations, i have read the why we sleep book as you recommended that and i loved it, it has helped me so much with my sleep. i have also just ordered the 101 essay book so will look forward to that too. also any podcast recommendations please :) xx really enjoy your videos :)
I’m in my 40 and still learning however people see me as a 20 year old so I try and say to people don’t judge a book by it’s cover plus on Father’s Day I done a half marathon in memory of my dad for bhf I was the last runner but still I wanted to finish the run the event people kept the run opened so I could finish the run and what I learned from this is I saw people see me as an inspiration and I’ve never seen that before when people said I’m and inspiration there is a film on UA-cam I’ve done and while editing it I got very emotional and broke down
7:38 This book sounds amazing! I have never read anything like it and I think my mum would enjoy it too so I am writing this recommendation down! Thank you!
P.S. The cover is indeed so nice! A gorgeous design!
The Midnight Library made me look at my life in a different way. I became more conscious and grateful for the small things in life. And Other Minds is just amazing! I love science books and that's one of my favorites. I hope you will enjoy both of them as well :)
I have Red Kites over my work place and they come over my garden also! I live in the Fens so looks nothing like the Chilton Hills!
I love reading and always look for recommendations. I will definitely be picking some of these up! Do you think you could create a master list of your favorite books or books you recommend people to read?
Love the workout
Hey Zanna, I was wondering where your bedding is from? xx It looks cozy and I have been looking to get a new set
What song is being played at 15 mins 30 seconds? Love it 😍😍
Good evening to you Beautiful Zanna 😍I knew once you took your hair out from the your dressing gown band it would come out as lovely &,gorgeous as yourself.. Always such a lovely pleasure to listen & watch you on your vblog. Your sense of humour is to die for😂🤣 Such a Beautiful & Happy soul.. Have a fabbbulos weekend in this glorious sunshine with your lovely man Ant.🌞😎😘❤❤
Thank you Joan, I hope you managed to enjoy the sunshine too! Beautiful wasn't it!
@@ZannavanDijk Good morning Beautiful lady, Yes this weather is absolutely glorious🌞but suddenly now I'm suffering with allergies due to the high pollen😌Tbh I can't wait for the temperatures to start dropping throughout the week & hopefully the pollen count come down.. wishing you a Blessful day 🙏😊🌞❤
SO BEYOND HERE FOR THE BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS - THAT 101 ESSAYS ONE IS A BITTA ME
Have you read The Salt Path? Wonderful walking book
Ooh just ordered 101 essays as it was 99p on kindle woooo
I generally prefer fiction over non fiction books but that fungi book looks interesting - I studied botany with law and one of my botany papers was specifically on 'fungi' and we got to grow mushrooms and make beer in the lab as part of our lab work - quite fun. 😁
We have loads of Red Kites here in Berkshire too. They are so beautiful but it's quite daunting when there are 10 circling you overhead🤣 Did you know their wingspan can be about 5ft?!!!🤯
Have you read where the crawdads sing? X
Miss ur workouts
I've met Merlin Sheldrake. He's a fun guy ;)
1:20 They indeed looked FANTASTIC! Also, you could try to tie them differently to make the back curly too!
Having said that, there is NO WAY to sleep in these comfortably in my opinion ;P Which is a pity!
I used to do that when I was little and my mom wouldn’t want to use a curling iron.
I can't sleep with em like that either, but I don't make buns, I just make 2 "pigtails" and it works even better for me than making buns! And then I can sleep just fine :)
I love reading! I am always interested in what everyone else is reading. Please share your thoughts.
13:55 Do I understand well that you got to know her only when you bought the new house? If so, isn't it amazing how life changes can bring new incredible people into our lives?
Also, living in such a place is totally a dream of mine. I only have to think about an online job for myself which is going to be a challenge :D
Can you give us a new update of you invisalign results. I started it this week because of your results 🥰
What helps me sleep with that method is instead of the buns, wrap it round to the top of your head and make a big bow.
If you like the idea of entangled life but want something that applies it more to our human lives I think you would love Emergent Strategy by Adrienne Maree Brown - she also has a fantastic book called Pleasure Activisim - she takes Black feminist philosophy and combines them with these kind of approaches - I thought of you while I was reading it because you had been reading the secret life of trees!
I have loved your vlogs walking in the Surrey Hills and it has inspired me to go there - I was surprised to see you walk right near a campsite I run in this vlog! 💕💕💕
Ps I agree the red kites are incredible!!! We are so lucky to see them every day
I love reading! Hard to always find the time so I want to make sure what I do read is worth it. Please keep sharing book recs!
