Lug Via 2 VS Lug Via Tote

- In this video you'll see the Via 2 and Via Tote side-by-side. At the end of the video I have included some "on the body" comparisons with other bags. These bags can be found on Lug's site, Luglife.com. You can also find them on QVC if you're in the US, and Amazon!

I adore the Via Tote so much that I bought a second. My husband loves them as well. When the Via2 came out I bought it mostly for the color I wanted. I have used it a few times and saw some features of each that I preferred. But today I used the Via2 for cross-border travel and gained a new appreciation for it. The RFID shielding was moved to the inside zipper pockets. Either of those (clear or privacy pocket) are the perfect size and shape for passports. I could fit our family's 4 passports in either one perfectly. This is a great improvement over the original, which only had RFID shielding in an external pocket, which is not where I would ever keep a passport. In addition, the redesigned grip handles are big enough for me to slip my sweatshirt or light jacket through when it is on my back. That is so handy! I couldn't do that with the tote's smaller handles.

I have the via 1 in the grey fog crinkle fabrication and I prefer it to the puddle jumper style pockets of the via 2 … that front flap pocket on the original via has a magnet in it that clicks gently to close, and it is more convenient to have a larger pocket than the two small ones (IMO). I also wish they’d bring back the crinkle nylon… it was my favourite! I also just prefer the look of the via 1 over the via 2. I use it as my gym bag, and love it so much I bought my husband the same bag in the crinkle nylon walnut colour to match the lug cruiser that I got him as a carry on back in the day! We use them all the time for weekends away and then the combo cruiser and via as carry on items when we go on longer trips. My via looks as good as it did when I first got it, the crinkle nylon has held up really well (like I said, I use it regularly as a gym bag). 😊
Call me a classic lover. I still prefer the look of the via tote. But I also own the large via for travel and I lllllovvveeee it a lot as I find it so functional so I figure I'd love the via tote
Another fantastic review! I was on the fence because I do truly love the large flap on the Via and the insulated compartment, but I think I'm going to be happier with the organizational features on the Via2. And I'm loving the brushed black! Very chic-looking! And great comparison to some other bags as well so we can really see how it fits in to the Lug family size-wise.
I was just about to buy the Tote when THANKS TO YOUR COMMENTERS, I leaned that the Via 2 had just been released!!! I've been giving it test drives before our trip to the Florida beaches and I'm very happy with it. Especially love that the handles on the 2 fold down flat like the Canter (my first Lug). Ordered it in Botanical Black from QVC. Hubby does not feel that the pattern is too feminine for him to be caught dead in! 😄
Leslie Druschel this is all so awesome to hear!! 💗 Originally I had offered to let my husband have my Via 2 since the bags were similar enough for me to not need both, and then changed my mind when I realized how much I liked it. 🤣 I might have to get him his own.
I'm favoring the tote. The via 2 looks just like a puddle jumper and We already have 3 of those. I do like the way the handles fold down on the via 2 though.
Michelle Marsh yes, I prefer the newer handles, also. I think the flap and the insulated pockets were part of what made the via unique, but at least we still have the tote and the travel around if we want to pick up more! The Via 2 is kind of a hybrid.
Lug Nut TV Interesting - I prefer the handles that snap - easy to pick up! But I like the front pockets of the Via 2.

Kristin U it’s a possibility! The puddle jumper will definitely be able to hold more, but if you have the shoe compartment full it will alter the main compartment’s capacity a little bit.

I’m staying with my Via Tote. I do wish it had the anti slip lay flat handles of the Via 2 and the anti slip grip on the backpack straps but otherwise I much prefer the look and the insulated pocket.
Jennifer Lantz I can go either way with the insulated pocket, I came to realize, but I really do love the little ID windows on the Via Tote!
I love my Via 2 much more and gave my original Via to my daughter. ☺️🇨🇦

Creative Momma i prefer the PJ pockets because i really love being able to compartmentalize. I am not a fan of flap pockets because depending on what you put in it, sometimes the flap doesn’t shut flush. The insulated back pocket was useless because it didnt have a gusset so if i had something in there bulkier than a cheese string it pressed against your back. Also , the warmth of my back would warm up the food. And of course, all the new colours and prints are a bonus. I am not sorry that i bought the Via 2. ☺️🇨🇦 oh, yes and the no slip on the handles is fantastic.
I had the original Via Tote bag, but I found it too heavy compared to my other Lug bags. I really liked the design though. Thanks for another great video!
I have the Via Tote and am fine with it. I don't see the need to get a Via 2. If I used it more I might change my mind, but I'm happy with what I have.
Gwen Lobo It is a great bag!! Considering the bags are the same dimensions, if you already know which features you love you might as well stick with it!! 💓
I have the via tote and am using it as a diaper bag. I prefer the tote because the longer pockets are better for stuffing with wipes and diapers in the front for easy access and toys, baby clothes and food pouches in the cargo pockets inside. The small pockets on the outside and divided inside pockets wouldn't work for all I need to carry around for my baby
Letitia C it does make a GREAT diaper bag!! Most of the time if somebody asks for a diaper bag recommendation, that’s the one I see pop up most often in people’s answers.

I bought the original Via Tote when it was initially released and love it! I’ve been amazed how perfectly it fits my work gear.
I have a basic drawstring bag (I think it came with shoes) that I folded up and put into the backpack strap pocket. I can still fit the straps in. Very compact, and I have a backup shopping bag, just in case. I always use a separate wallet, so one of the clear ID pockets holds an envelope with emergency transit fare; the other holds a few sweetener packets (since no one ever has monkfruit). No space wasted!
Still awake as I had to watch your video Jessiee. You really did go into a lot of detail comparing these 2 Vias. Many thanks as the measurements of each & every pocket was great to know. I currently own the Via 1 and I have no plans in the immediate future, to purchase the Via 2. I do like some of the 2's features such as the back zipped pocket over the 1s insulated pocket that I don't use. Also, the 2 has a clear pocket that I prefer and I understand the hidden part is RFID protected? You look great wearing both bags and all the other Lug bags you wore comparing them to the Via 2. I don’t have a via. I like the via 2 because it comes in floral multi.
