    Without wanting to be unkind, or like a pseudo psychologist, because i am neither, it really is time to face the truth about your wardrobe, i think it's time to stop pretending you are looking for a solution and saying you don't know what to do, you're a sensible, educated woman, you know you just have to put it all on hangers, rails and in drawers, you are putting off doing the room by looking for a solution that you already know, please just put it away or throw it out, otherwise the only way is to admit you like it like that, if things feel too precious to throw away then ask yourself do you treat other precious things this way x

      No...I think Nadia has ADHD. She cannot focus long, gets lost in thoughts, cannot sort through or organize. Her brain is misfiring and this gets worse with menopause for all with ADHD but especially those undiagnosed

      @@sarahpenna262 that's so wrong. For some people the issue is too hard to face or there is a mental block. Classic case of hoarding/neglect tendencies. It's a real mental illness. Not fair for people to say 'just tidy up', 'just buy some wardrobes'. If it was that easy don't you think that would've happened by now.

      I am a college professor who has studied learning disabilities. Nadia exhibits all the signs of ADHD. Mark has similar issues but his are more about frenetic energy. Nadia should be tested for ADHD. There are many ways to address it behaviorally. It is true that some issues are habits ...like her room. However, since her issues with keeping the kitchen organized are similar and the cupboards show the same disarray, one must consider the clutter as part of the ADHD disorganized mind and distraction.

    Right where do I start, I love you guys honestly do but seriously it’s a team effort everyone needs to pull together. And Nadia please buy some wardrobes for your clothes. Stop shopping for the sake of shopping, before you buy head down to the charity shops and give away things you don’t need or use. The more stuff you buy the more chaotic it will look. Create an nice ambience and please keep your toilet bathroom clean. If you guys are finding it difficult get a cleaner in once a week. 👍🏼❤️

    Whenever I am cleaning/sorting a space I always start by completely taking everything ( absolutely everything) out of the space. Somehow makes it easier and you know you have to sort it all then. I think leaving everything in and starting to sort makes it feel much more daunting.
    Another top tip to stay on top of everything (once it’s sorted) is to live by the Boy Scout rule, leave everywhere better than you found it. So every room you spend time in you leave a little tidier/cleaner. I am talking seconds but amazingly it works. 💙

  • @jmu1966
    @jmu1966 3 роки тому +31

    You just have too much stuff. Get rid of half of it and sort out ways of storing everything. Then pay someone to follow you all round picking up and putting away 😂. Seriously though you need to start seeing yourselves as tidy people then the habitat changes that you need will follow. If you just tidy it wont change in the long term if that's what you truly want xx

    Absolutely loved this vlog 😁 I’m just like Nadia. Makes me sad when people comment that she is lazy or it’s lack of effort cos from my experience it isn’t that. Nadia works really hard and does all the cooking - she’s got lots of amazing qualities - this is just her struggle (we all have something). I’ve recommended it before but for Nadia and anyone else who has this struggle - get the audiobook ‘how to manage your house without losing your mind’ and/ or the author has a podcast ‘a slob comes clean’ - it’s fantastic and will really help!!! Totally different to the usual advice!

    The biggest problem seems to be buying items that you already have. Don't buy more food items until you've eaten the last of one item. It will save money and time. Also, as a reformed messy person, my therapist showed me that I wouldn't continue to do a behavior unless I was getting some type of reward for it. The mess allowed me to make excuses for being late, not being able to find something, etc. I would just say I have add or something like that. If I truly wanted to clean up my act in all ways....I had to actually do it and work on it. It's a patterned behavior just like other things. Just like Mark has to continually work on staying sober and keeping a good mental health...Nadia you will have to daily work on this in order for it to get better. Clutterbug is a great channel on youtube. She also did a TEDtalk that was fantastic and helped me understand clutter so much more.

    You need a massive skip and a massive clean out, the majority of things you prob don’t even use, less things easier to keep on top of it, it’s not all on nads mark lives there too so should also help to keep on top of it, then as soon as you see an area getting bad work together to clean it up before it becomes a tip again, teamwork!

  • @donnaleifels3856
    @donnaleifels3856 3 роки тому +3

    Lisa you are so right the only thing that can be done , is Nadia has to do the cleaning herself that is the only way it will stay tidy.

  • @Miss1Trisha

    I feel Nadia seems genuinely overfaced in this vlog, and just doesn’t know how to approach getting on top of things. Has she always struggled with tidiness and running a household? what might seem straight forward and simple to some, can be very difficult for other people, so it’s unfair to judge. From what is said, Mark, Maddie and Kiki don’t seem happy with things as they are, and seem to get frustrated. Perhaps Mark, the girls, Dina and Lisa have used the time that Nadia has been away to do a big deep clean and clear out??? If so, I am sure she would be SO happy to come home to a clean and tidy home, and have the sense of relief that she isn’t going around in circles never being able to get on top of things. Even though Nadia laughs it off, I do think it bothers her, she seemed genuinely embarrassed and fed up with it all. I was 1 of 5 children, and growing up we each had age appropriate designated chores to do, and we knew if we wanted our pocket money etc it would be on the basis we had all pitched in to help. I feel this helped me in adult life when I had my own place, and the same for my brothers and sister. In a busy house like theirs it can’t all be done by one person so Perhaps Maddie and Kiki and Mark and Nadia could all have designated weekly chores, and if everyone pitches in and does them without fail, no excuses, bit by bit they will get on top of things and it will become the norm. Otherwise I think a cleaner at least twice a week is the only other way to tackle it? Dina was such a good help and super organised, and I think it was completely understandable and relatable what Lisa said about unless things were kept clean and tidy going forward it would be a waste of time sorting stuff out. I did feel from what Mark was saying and then getting Lisa to repeat saying to Nadia on the vlog were in fact points he has been making to Nadia himself for quite a long time???? I do hope you find some resolution soon, because I think it would benefit all your mental health, I wish you all the best with it 👍🏻😀xx

      @Miss1Trisha 3 роки тому +4

      Mary Doe hi there, do I take it your comment is aimed at me? Thanks for your ‘concern’, and in response I would say that I am blessed with a very good life thank you. Lovely family, lovely home, great friends, comfortable lifestyle and good health. I am left wondering if perhaps you are not so blessed? To feel compelled to leave mean hearted remarks, when you could have simply scrolled by, is possibly indicative of someone who is not perhaps very happy with themselves or their lives. I wish you well.

    I did find this amusing but I can see how this has happened. It's not fair for people to say they can't understand it or 'just tidy up'. For some people it's not that simple and the hurdle is just too big to face, especially if you aren't that way inclined or you have a mental block. This is how people end up becoming hoarders and filling up their houses up. Lisa is right though, it doesn't matter how much they help to organise all the stuff if the will isn't there to keep it tidy or the 'mental block' isn't dealt with, there's just no point.

    Sometimes to get at the root issue is the best way to inspire oneself into a habit shift that is not based on willpower, shaming oneself or fear of rejection. I found this article you may enjoy because it centers around clutter and mental health. Maybe it may inspire small changes? Even just committing an hour a day to organizing a part of a room could add up to big changes in habits and feelings of empowerment. And set a timer. When the time is up. Just leave it until the next day. Then the feelings of being overwhelmed don't stress you out. Nadia could do a 30 day clutter challenge. That could be fun to vlog. And then interview her after to see what insights, feelings, aha moments she had. article > makespace.com/blog/posts/clutter-infographic/

    Is this another prank on Lisa, or an avant- garde art project to see how people will react, because this video has certainly prompted a lot of reactions 👍! Too funny.

    I HATE TO SAY IT. BUT CREATIVE PEOPLE SEEM TO BE MESSY AND LIVE IN MESSY HOMES!!
    THEIR HEADS ARE SIMPLY IN A DIFFERNT PLACE AND TIDINESS JUST DOES NOT SEEM THAT IMPORTANT!
    NADIA IS VERY CREATIVE ON MANY LEVELS SO I THINK THIS IS WHY SHE GETS INTO A MESS.. NO EXCUSE I KNOW..
    BUT HELL, SHE'S BRAVE PUTTING IT OUT THERE.
    YOU CAN SEE SHE IS FRUSTRATED ABOUT IT BUT CREATIVE MINDS ARE JUST ON ANOTHER LEVEL.
    AND COME ON...
    THE DIGESTIVE WITH THE SOCK IS THE BEST THING AND MOST CREATIVE THING I HAVE SEEN ALL LOCKDOWN!!!!!!HAHAHA..BRILLIANT!

      Exactly right..its all about what you value..I think a house with love, laughter and creativity is way more important than organized drawers..and ok nadia or mark are not the tidy type, but they bring so much in other areas, nadia is a wonderful cook and Mark's so creative in the garden and in media/directing etc. We are brain washed as a society that if you have a messy home then you are less of a woman somehow and if it's not something that comes naturally..it took me years to finally accept myself for who I am instead of aspiring to be this cookie cutter type of mother/ home keeper. It's hard to shake off that feeling of failure when other woman will rip you to shreds if your not tidy x

    This is facinating, nearly everyone has a drawer with odds and ends and string etc but it looks as if the whole street has emptied all their crap into Nadia's. Fascinating watching what was coming out next. You gotta love that half a digestive biscuit. Love you guys.

      @@sarahpenna262 I don't think it's fair to get so personal about it. Life is full of people like me, who don't hoard, and people like Nadia and family, who do. We're all different and each to his/her own. It's when hoarding becomes a health issue, that people should get concerned.

    I'm laughting...but horrified, poor Nads...this feels like an intervension - is this hoarder's rock bottom, is this the Sawlha-Adderleys version of the David Hasslehoff tape...? Good news is that Nadia is surrounded by people who are organised, and love her a great deal, to the extent that they are trying to relieve her of that daily stress

    My sister in law is exactly the same , I’ve been helping her tidy for years. As a wedding present I spent a week cleaning and painting her flat while she was on her honeymoon, her husbands exactly the same. She does try but like Nadia doesn’t seem to be able to organise anything. TBH mess doesn’t bother her but never being able to find anything drives her mad. She’s the most kind , caring , funny , loving person I’ve ever met and I wouldn’t change her for the world. Just like you Nadia 💕 .
