Gabe is such a badass. It is nice to see a local drummer getting the recognition he deserves. I first met Gabe at a Kennedy Veil show years ago and have been keeping up with him ever since. It is nice to see him climbing the ladder. Keep it up dude!
Nice. Reminds me of Gene Hoglan, I saw him at one concert and he was losing sticks left and right. I was really cracking up, because usually you can see a very quick look of surprise on people's faces before they recover - but he didn't even blink. As if it was just another day for him, and throwing sticks at the floor and ceiling was part of his technique. And maybe it was, because his performance was completely flawless for 2 hours straight.
I've never heard of this guy, but immediately I can tell he is legitimately a good drummer. Great technique, playing very tight (not sloppy), nice and relaxed, not all stiffened up. And a very smooth recovery when the underside of the ride snatched his stick away.
I'm not a drummer so I don't know what it is - can't quite put my finger on it - but something about the way this guy plays caught my attention real quick. His playing fits the song perfect...........
Sick Drummer stepping up the video game on this one. I,m diggin it. That mask is so gnarly too, like can you just look at where you are blasting at? lolol
Not really. This is around 210 bpm. You almost have to get that much height to play a blast cleanly at that speed. But make no mistake, this dude is indeed sick.
It's cause he's using axis pedals, and if you're not using triggers then you really need the height to get enough leverage. I find it easier to play faster with higher battons than I do playing with my friends triggers that are low and like 2cm away from the kick drum lol
His swivel technique is very different than George's from what I've seen. Gabe's feet are pointing down about 20 degrees or so, where George has his feet pointed up to the sky at about 20-30 degrees. Gabe also seems to have his foot near the middle/top of the pedal where George plays very high up from what I've seen. Thoughts? Can anyone explain the difference?
Ok the song reminded me of some other song which very closely resembles this one...almost like this one has picked up from it...listen to machine head old...you'll find the resemblance uncanny
this videos makes me think that if you don't play blast beats you can't play metal at all. is like every metal band nowadays plays djent or black metal

Same here man now he is one of my favorite . And plus great great guy
he makes those blasts look so easy ! what a machine this guy
It's only around 210 bpm. Blasting at that speed isn't hard. Keeping them even is, but that speed is slow.
After watching dominator, nothing is fast anymore.
@@blackhatch46 Try george kollais(nile) and( origin) drummer...john longstreth and martin jovanovic(ex-belphegor)
That recovery tho
Yes, it was very nicely done.
1:20?
yeah lol Twan
+Twan flying stick 🚀

Gabe is such a great drummer and also a very very good man
The precision is amazing. The fact is, playing at 200 or 210 bpm is significantly harder than 220 or 230. This guys owns it. So consistent throughout.
jeez guys how about the whole concert? This is the best I've heard them mixed live plus sober enough to play super tight.
Only Abbath can make teleprompters metal, holy fuck
So weird you mention that I didn't even see it. I saw it as I paused the video and saw your comment hahaha.
The cameras can be setup to lock the viewer into just the drummer world. Not my preference.
I've never heard of this guy, but immediately I can tell he is legitimately a good drummer. Great technique, playing very tight (not sloppy), nice and relaxed, not all stiffened up. And a very smooth recovery when the underside of the ride snatched his stick away.
what a fucking snare sound
you got that right
Awesome video, amazing quality. Keep em' coming!!!
Omg, what a perfect recov of stick!!!!
hell yeah! more from this show!
That was the most casual lost sick recovery I've ever seen
Holy shit this is awesome. I watch it like every week!
This video is Perfect !!!
Really solid technique!
The Best Drummer+Guitarrist Abbath
another one good drum beast
He's also got one of the best Dimmu Borgir covers on YT. Great player, awesome recovery.
quality video!

Love that swivel technique..
That blasting was amazingly good
It's time to count to ten!!!!!
Them blasts are so sick.
Fucking effortless, wow. Abbath gets amazing drummers.
Thanks 👍😘🇸🇪
as a guitarist I would just like to blast like this guy
its the best thing if you want a good night with live music
Dat swivel technique is beautiful
Masterful strokes
Amazing rebound control on those fullstrokes
Gabe is sickkkk
Gabe is a beast.

he looks so relaxed. great technique.
that save was pure class,
Sublime.
Sick Drummer stepping up the video game on this one. I,m diggin it. That mask is so gnarly too, like can you just look at where you are blasting at? lolol
Yeah, I'm sure there are eyeholes that he can see out of, but the mask is so awesome. :D
His stick height is so insane omfg

Anyone know what hi hats he is using, they sound amazing with the snare
Old school!
Check out his main band. The Kennedy Veil
haha, i thought he said its time to count to TEN, hahaha. i fckn thought they were gonna count that high. lmao
COUNT TO FUCKIN' TEN DAMMIT..............
haha epic! Count to fucking 10 Denver!
Damn I didn't know this guy ... His technique is awesome...
Now that's what I call a great example of swivel technique ! :)
what ride is that, cant tell ,i LOVit
Looks like a saluda. maybe a mist series
storm black sounds is fuck*** amazing...Sabian icredible highness

Jason Damico not super sure but this dude looks better... I can say that at least. He is very natural.
Anyone know what sticks he's using?
fucking awesome
That recovery
is that a ZILDJ. ride cymbal?
Why his stick made 3 hits, but only one sound
So glad they finally got a better drummer.
That left hand reminds me of Tony Laureano. Similar technique, stick height and that amazing consistency.
fuck hes good... like reeeal good
This guy is only like 25...Jesus
I love Gabe and I love this channel but not showing the solo in the video when it was played is super bad haha
Fuckin nice!!
Ok the song reminded me of some other song which very closely resembles this one...almost like this one has picked up from it...listen to machine head old...you'll find the resemblance uncanny
Trick or treat
Abbath is probably the most extreme and brutal Black Metal can go without Satanism today.
I want that mask!
Is that a teleprompter for lyrics? Lame
Yep
Gabe seeber with abbath! A fuckin good combo! \m/
Why's that Iame?
abbath don't remembering stuff is normal. he's got more crazy things on his head
Needing assistance to sing the lyrics he wrote himself.. Just rehearse and learn the words.
I'd recommend some Oil of Olay for that skin condition
That stick fumble though lol
ok did not notice but his swivel is fucking up the timing little bit don't get me wrong he is a great drummer . LOVit
Does Abbath make all his drummers wear that mask?!
look left and right man, you might like it :), so fookin good tho,,
this videos makes me think that if you don't play blast beats you can't play metal at all. is like every metal band nowadays plays djent or black metal
that stick recovery is the work of the devil
Just now I could see he lost his drumstick ahahah in 1:20 I guess
Bad stick... The Drummer did a great job
That basic drum beat he plays during most of the song doesn't really fit.
Yep!that's what makes it sounds cool
agreed
The mask is lame. The drummer is good. Real relaxed.
You lame butch
This is a poor imitation of KISS...
That’d suck to have to wear that mask.
