      +Sir Alfred XI i don't think (even though i really want him to) Porter Robinson would do a video. His music is so unique and he is still building his style, i think he will probably think people will steal his ideas and stuff. A lot of people learn from these videos.

    This is pretty basic stuff the guy is talking about. Something you would probably learn within the first 5-6 months of using Logic. And he is using Logic 9 (though nothing wrong with that). What, most of us "producers" watching this would like to learn/know is how did he get his first major placement or indeed even management...especially with this skills-set. I know twice as more talented producers out there who are struggling to get their first beat/instrumental/song even heard by a DJ/A&R/publisher. So what made Tiesto play this in the clubs, even before it was released ? Now that would be a really interesting story we like to hear and the tricks to learn as "producers" !!!

    • @paulryan8764
      @paulryan8764 9 років тому +2

      MB TV Yeah thats a great point, as with everything marketing is an incredibly important skill. They're are some incredibly talented producers who are virtually unknown whereas if you look at the big guys in the scene they are ok but nothing out of this world, its all due to successful marketing so maybe you should start reading some marketing books

    Amazing video, I really enjoyed following each and every one of your step by step explanations! Simple and easy, even for the inexperienced ones like me... What a really good tip to handle many of your drum samples (@16:30) in such a way to easily find the right one that fits with the rest of the track!!! I'll try to implement that in my workflow, hoping to get better and faster results on the drum parts of my tracks.

      There is no "best" DAW. I use Ableton Live 9 myself but that's just because it has a workflow that suits me. It's not like Ableton will allow you to produce a better track than you would in any other DAW.

      ***** 1. Can you prove that bullshit?
      2. So what if you have done 8 years of this and that, have you done 11 years of it?
      3. Just because you are a mixing engineer and master tracks occasionally doesn't mean jack shit. You could be god and it wouldn't change the fact that you're wrong... like really wrong.
      4. The amount of mother fucking grammar issues in that wall of text makes me even more sceptical of you being what you claim you are. As a "professional" you should be able to represent yourself a lot better than you are currently doing so.

    How about the basic mixing techniques? Like having the KICK on MONO and phasing and stereo imaging?

      I only know what reverb and compression means. Reverb is used in a track to make sure that the certain sound you are making sounds more open so think of a circle, the circle is the sound and if you want your sound to sound more "open" you make that circle bigger so the sound goes around the room more and have a bigger sound. Compression is used to tighten a sound and not have it sound sloppy. It is a bit confusing but the more you watch these videos the more you will understand it

      +Jude Kim Reverb is an effect used to make a sound feel like it is in a room or a large hall, its like an echo but much more controlled. It can be used to fit sounds in a mix. A bus is a mixer channel that has other mixer channels routed into it, it is usually used for mixing and effects purposes. Sidechaining is a technique where the volume of something drops when another is playing. This is used most often on kicks and bass where the volume of the bass goes down when the kick plays to stop the frequencies of the two clashing and to give the song a bouncy feel. Compression is a technique where the volume is automatically changes by a compressor depending on its settings. kicks and snares can be made louder by compressors. To understand these terms better I recommend googling them and finding tutorials on youtube. All the best!

      Chuck Bruneau worry about peaking in the actual plugging themselves though, you don't want that

      There's a reason why people use effectix glitch.It gives cool effects without doing alot of automation.
