MY my....I am age 71, and I do think this is the first time I have heard this work. And a wonderful work it is. Thank you for uploading this.
The same for me, Harry ! And I am 75 ! ;-)
@@jclmat: 73 here, I love Respighi, yet I somehow missed this, so it’s a delight to have stumbled across them!
Divine Bach! Gifted Respighi! The 'alliance' is so uplifting and moving.
What a talented composer! I wish he lived longer.
Beautiful, Outstanding !!!!!!!!!!!! ……… tante GRAZIE OTTORINO E ZIA ELSA OLIVIERI - SANGIACOMO
straordinario bach e grandissimo respighi, musica eccelsa
The idea of orchestrating Bach for modern orchestra really caught fire around 1910. In 1914 Stokowski made his first arrangements, followed by people like Elgar, Schoenberg, Webern, Walton, many conductors. Stravinsky submitted his treatment late, in 1956.
Adore it ..I listened million times!🎶🎶🎼🎶🎶🎼💙💙💜💜💕

Pure heavenly music. 2 geniuses!
Sublime!
Holy music from above. Bless You, Maestro!
Bach-Music is the music for the human soul.
Merci beaucoup.
WOW!! Another pupil of Rimsky-Korsakov interested in Bach!! Bach rules.
Incomprendido Ottorino,io t´ammiro
We humans are the only beings who feels divine holiness through music even too thank you for your upload
True Masterpiece!
thank you so much for uploading this wonderful music.
these days im totally enchanted by Respighi
The transcription of BWV 659 "Nun komm der Heiden Heiland"
sounds wonderful - thank you !
Like a true organ! Even the clarinet tune is so precise!
So much beautiful music; and in America people stay so deprived and have no idea.
Jk Stevenson . I'm in America and it is beautiful music.
Wonderful piece
Listening this I feel in Heaven.
Superb! I love these great Bach transcriptions.
I like Bach so much I wanted to name my cow after him, until I realized that he probably wouldn't consider that a compliment.
:(
--Greetings from Texas
you are a funny man,, regards from The Netherlands
bellissimo
Respighi attended Rimsky-Korsakov class in Saint-Petersburg.
Serene and wonderful arrangements. Had a bright moment and
found this on the Naxos Website: Bach - 3 chorales, P. 167
No. 1. Lento assai (after J.S. Bach's Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland, BWV 659) 00:05:39
No. 2. Andante con moto e scherzando (after J.S. Bach's Meine Seele erhebt den Herrn, BWV 648) 00:00:53
No. 3. Andante (after J.S. Bach's Wachet auf ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 645) 00:05:12
Fantastic image you put with it. Well done.
Merci !
Thanks for identifying the painting for us. I am a huge follower of traditional art.
Thank you :). I recognized only one of them. I will look for the original too.
At last you uploaded this wonderful music.. I can 'find it anywhere in Greece..
Adoro
Beautiful, Ferruccio Busoni (1866 - 1924) also made also a beautiful transcription for piano of BWV 659 "Nun komm der Heiden Heiland". How Bach inspired so many other composers with his authentic music. Which are the other 2 chorales ?
00:00 Lento assai
05:26 Andante con moto e scherzando
06:44 Andante
Thank you !
What an amazing orchestration of Nun Komm der Heiden Heiland! It is also wonderful on organ or piano, but this is transcendent and celestial in its effect on my soul. Respighi obviously felt the same to have produced this.
Choräle "Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland" BWV 659
"Meine Seele erhebt den Herren" BWV 648 5:26
"Wachet auf ruft uns die Stimme" BWV 645 6:44
!!!
11:25
I missed the timpani ! Where is that ?! :((
In Bach? Are you kidding?)
@@nss4472 I mean, not that there should be timpani here, but there are multiple Bach's orchestral works with timpani 😅
i didn't like the first few minutes. But i'm so glad i thumbed through some more starting at 5:24
What about the painting?
The author of the painting is the English painter and poet of Italian origins Dante Gabriel Rossetti who lived in 1800
Sorry, I meant I can't..
Muy bello!
