As someone who's favorite game of all time is DK94, and whose favorite GBA game is Mario Vs. DK, I was ECSTATIC when I heard the news of this remake.
Though I found MvDK2 and Miniland Mayhem to be fun in their own right, they soon dropped off in quality in later installments. I liked the idea of these as spin offs to the MvDK series, but I always yearned for a return to form for my favorite duology.
Here's hoping for that long-awaited 3rd puzzle-platformer in the future...

They made Mario and Donkey Kong on 3DS, which was kind of 3D. But you can't get it anymore because the eShop shut down.
Yes! Or at the very least, a remake of DK94... although admittedly I don't feel the need for it. I'd probably buy it, but the original is already perfect... just not convenient to play. (I emulate it on my Mac... wish I still had my old copy.)
Can't imagine playing a remake of DK94 since the nostalgia for the original is just too strong and it still plays well. I've never played the GBA one though, so I'm looking forward to the remake.
@@Ray_2112 I'm also looking forward to the new MvD GBA remake. As for DK94, did you know they actually had a remake in development for the GameCube? Its so crazy, I only found out about it probably around the time I left my last comment a month ago. There's even a brief clip of it someone took back in the day as proof, but then it disappeared and was never heard from again... was actually a pretty charming 2D cartoon art-style, would LOVE if it got resurrected and released somehow! Look it up!
It's nice to see appreciation for this series. The series has been seen has "bad filler games" thanks to it countless Mini entries no one asked for, and this remake has sadly taken a bit of an icy reception due to the lack of a DKC game in recent years. It's weird to me, because I see endless praise for DK94, yet none for MVDK.

grew up on the GBA game, 94 looks great as well. looking forward to the remastered music and to hear the voice files that got engrained into my mind.
Good video! Yeah I believe Mario vs Donkey Kong is way more important than people give it credit for, and I really hope Nintendo gives it a proper sequel in the same format as the original after this remake.
I played it for a review I recently did on my channel and it still really holds up. Hope they give it a level creator.

Thank you for doing this game justice! This is an underrated gem and honestly while TTYD got most of my excitement, I felt a lot of it for this one too! It's a fun evolution of this plumber's original gameplay, and an incredibly nostalgic one for me.
I'm super down for this game, but now that I think about it... it would have been great to see the original Donkey Kong ('94) remade... oh well, already played that one to death, haven't played this one, so looking forward to it! (If I can stomach the $50 dollars... ugh.)
Fun fact: DK94 almost got remade back in 2002 for the GameCube! Sadly this was shown in a quiet corner of Nintendo’s E3 booth along with a promise of a level editor and then never heard from again.
