Kevin was such a well written character. I hate how they ruined him by establishing him as a creep that chases mentally deranged women in the final season.
They ruined him way before during his break-up with Robin, an understanding, forgiving, kind guy suddenly dumps her for not having baby.... seriously 🤷, they could've come up with better plotline instead of such illogical character development.

I really was rooting for Barney and Robin, but Kevin was my very close second favorite Robin's significant other and this speech touched my soul. Truth is, I ended up married someone like Kevin, and it works out till now.
I do think that this part and the moment when Barney tells Robin that he likes her because she is as messed up as him was the definitive proof that it was never going to work between them, it was not about love, I'm positive they loved each other in their own and particular way of doing so a great deal, but even this random guy Kevin was able to offer her something Barney could never do, I mean, when he was faced with the same question he gave a totally different answer that was more proactive than Barney's, and Robin realized it, henceford at the end of this chapter she decided not to go back with Barney.
