The buddies use Maxwell's bikewash as the centrepiece of their magic show. They go in one end and are transformed when they come out the other side. They use Maxwell's bikewash bubble machine to create bubbles and pretend it's a magical bubble machine. Troy believing the machine is actually magic takes it and races away across Wheelford with it. Ricky chases him to get it back and the two bikes have a bubble dual. Troy soon realises that he didn't need to take the bubble machine to be part of Ricky's magic show.
The buddies have made balloon lanterns for the Lantern Festival. Ricky really wants Hank and Helen to come to the festival with him but they are really busy with their rescue work and can't be certain they can make it. Toot has the Zoom family balloon lantern and holds it while she and Ricky wait for Hank and Helen. Every bike can make one wish on their lantern before they release it into the sky. All the bikes in Wheelford get ready to release their lanterns together but Toot releases the Zoom lantern by mistake and then everyone else releases their lanterns too. Ricky didn't get to make his wish so the buddies all help him in an attempt to get the lantern back. When the lantern is returned Hank and Helen make it back to re release the lantern. Ricky got his wish Afterall, to watch the lanterns with his mum and dad.
