You can blame the Wings missing the playoffs on any one game. I choose to blame the one against the Kraken with the most obvious stick on the ice to prevent a goal that gets ignored by the refs and then Seattle goes down the ice and scores
Wings took a step forward this season and surprised many. They may have overachieved but it feels like the worst is behind them. Larkin is legit, Raymond had his breakout and is just beginning to hit his stride, and Seider continues to show he’s a tier 1 defenseman. With a top 3-5 prospect pool they’ll be in the playoffs, making noise, soon enough. All that said, they could take a bit of a step back next season depending on in Kane goes and how the next group of rookies that gets called up adapts to the NHL. Still, the future is very bright and a second Red Wings Empire is just on the horizon
As someone who paid attention to the Kraken UTree, Hakstol was the exact opposite of Sutter in that he let the players govern themselves, perhaps to a fault. The problem was that the leadership structure on the players end became a mess, and Francis didn’t do enough this past offseason to sustain success. Hakstol was just a portion of the problem, but he was the obvious fall guy.
Tree, at 17:27, you nailed it. The Blues should have kept Pat Maroon. Maroon is a hometown boy. The first and only St. Louisan to win The Cup for his boyhood team. The first and only St. Louisan to eat toasted ravioli with marinara from the Stanley Cup. The first and only St. Louisan to win THREE Stanley Cups in a row!
The Flyers collapsing to close the season was very disappointing but let’s face it: We would have probably just gotten swept by the Rangers just like the Capitals did. At least we showed some growth, our young players are developing, and we’re going to do all we can to get Matvei Michkov in Philly as soon as possible. I like our future.
I'm not so sure about our goaltending though. Before Hart got arrested we had a legit goalie tandem which is my theory on why we won so many games during that time. Sadly, Hart was a sexual abuser so he was arrested and we had to overuse Errson to the point of him running out of gas. Our other goalies sucked.
The Flyers definitely have a bright future, especially after the season that they had this year. Yes, you may have missed the playoffs and went on that losing streak, but that's pretty much irrelevant compared to your other seasons you had so far this decade, so consider it a W. Next year, I expect Philly to be a playoff team around second or third in the metro division
@@thephoenixxm4160 Let's give Fedotov a full season before labelling him one way or another. But yeah, it looked to be a good tandem with Hart and Ersson together. Irrespective of whether he's a sexual abuser or not, the whole business has tainted Hart's image for the foreseeable future. There will still be someone who will take him on whenever that may be. Either way, this team definitely was more enjoyable to watch - it's amazing what firing Chuck Fletcher would do.
Any series would have been better than that Caps series though. Caps knew from the jump they didn't belong there and were going to get smoked. Ovechkin looked like he just straight up took an on ice vacation the entire series as well. He was public ice skating, not playing playoff NHL hockey.

The Coyotes is a weird one. An Inept Team with great Logos and Jerseys. No rivals really so other fans never hated them. Good Merch Sales because of their Logos being cool, but quite possibly the worst ownership in Sports History.
I can't believe I'm excited for this hockey season for the Flyers. Granted Carter isn't coming back (Probably for the best) but now Matvei Michkov is coming to Broad Street earlier than expected!
i feel bad for arizona losing their team to incompetent owners. however utah finally gets to exist, huzzah. i hope they learned from the kraken about how to brand a team. they did a good job targeting unique colors and an interesting logo and name combo. and if arizona can get the yotes back later aswell then all will be fine. i just cant stand the thought of an nhl without those cool ass jerseys.
The way it ended for Detroit was just so painful. Those final two games against Montreal sitting on the edge of your seat in full panic mode the whole time, only for Raymond to save our ass both nights, were so intense. And for it all to come crashing down because of a lousy empty net goal in another game, after the Flyers may have well been robbed earlier in the game, just really hurt bad. I know we did it to ourselves playing like shit without Larkin, and not beating the Capitals a week prior when we had the chance, but to come up short because of a faulty tiebreaker rule and one little thing not falling our way sucks. At least the Capitals got what they deserve for it being swept. And we're still on the rise, we'll be back next year with our talent in the minors coming up. Just have to learn from this and grow as a team.
Honestly, the whole Hocky Canada situation is wild. The fact it took this long for charges to be brought on these players is shocking yet not surprising.
The Devils would have still made it if they had competent goaltending. I think Tree has a soft spot for us and that’s why he’s so angry, he did the same thing for the Sharks as they were circling the drain.
I can tell you that not even Montreal fans know of the true potential of the Montreal Canadiens right now, precisely because of injuries. For a good chunk of the season they were effectively out of an entire second line due to this problem, how do you expect to keep up with any team in these circumstances?? They're far better than that, it's just that nobody really knows how much better.
If anyone is curious about which team doesn't have a Stanley Cup 4 team out of the Eastern Conference, don't have one are: Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabers, Ottawa Senators, and the Columbia Blue Jackets and 7 out of the Western Conference are: Minnesota Wild, Seattle Kraken, Winnipeg Jets, "Arizona Coyotes", Nashville Predators, Vancouver Canucks and the San Jose Sharks 🤔
"How long will Columbus fans tolerate this?" It's a question I asked myself when Phoenix was announced to be leaving. We have a loyal fanbase that put up with a lot of bullshit, but it can't last forever. It never does. If the current trajectory continues, I expect us to be on the chopping block for a relocation some day. It sucks.
The Art Modell rule will slow relocation down if it ever comes to that. One thing that is lost on many is that Columbus is a very fast growing city. Many, many people in the building are new to the city, and see it as one of the only things to do in the city. They aren't necessarily "fans."
The completely unjustified tragedy to one of your own players and his brother during this offseason since this post was made makes me fear that they'll go down the path of the Thrashers soon and probably move up to Quebec to become the new Nordiques. It genuinely sucks that all of this happened to you guys, but like you said, the current trajectory can't last for them forever. If it happened to us in Arizona, it can definitely happen to you guys out in Columbus. And the worst part is I doubt the NHL wants to return to Ohio if relocation does happen to the Blue Jackets. Seriously, it'd be on the same path as the Hartford Whalers at that rate: cool name taken out in one of the worst ways possible. :(
As a Ducks fan, these last few years have hurt hard. My hope is that this new season will be far better, especially with the rebranding going back to wild wing.
Now that Alex is gone, the hope is someone like Mat Ishbia takes over their operations going forward. And in Mat's case, he actually looks to give a damn by comparison to all the rest of the past owners of the franchise! (Seriously, one of the big reasons why the Coyotes didn't stay in Phoenix related to the fact that the now-former Suns owner didn't want to share the arena with the Coyotes properly. Everyone else just exacerbated that problem to what apparently became the nth degree when it was all said and done. Mat owning both teams would definitely help cause a shared arena plan to work out in the end in Phoenix.)
I like the general plan and direction my Blues are taking but man would I love if Brady Tkachuk has enough of OTT and demands a trade. Couldn’t win the sweepstakes for his brother but Brady would look great in Blue
I’m fine with my ducks tanking all these years. Keep loading up on talent and trading guys who have no value when this team is competitive down the road.
For the Wild, I was pleasantly surprised with how well we did this year. We weren't even eliminated until the last couple weeks, and that was with the injury trouble. Faber was amazing and Rossi was promising. Next year, we probably won't win a playoff series, but I do expect us to at least make it back there.
What's exhausting about being a 5th Liner here in Columbus (besides, yknow, EVERYTHING) is that the Monsters are *incredible*. Jet Greaves just played an absolutely insane game to move them to the next round of the Calder playoffs. I don't know why it doesn't translate. Maybe we should swap coaches.
The footage of Arizona players arriving in SLC last 10 seconds of the video. I was there in the stadium really for that event. Booing and yelling insults. Just cause I now have Pro NHL hockey literally 11 or 12 minutes from my house...doesn't mean I am bandwagonning. I stay loyal. #Let's Go Preds #NashivillePredators Meanwhile my coworkers are shocked at my behavior ( NHL bandwagoneers who never even been to a hockey game or even known how to play till it was announced we'd get one)
7:26 were not. Davidson needs the boot. He groveled back to us in the forst place. Buying out johnny hockey is too costly so thats out. Laine were probably stuck with on the books too. Our youth have contracts up all at the same time with not enough money to please them all. Tale as old as time.
As a CBJ fan, Sisyphus had it better than this team. At least he could push the boulder to the top of the mountain before it rolled back to the bottom. Columbus at most barely makes it halfway before the boulder rockets into the air, comes plummeting down, bounces on top of them and crushes them a couple dozen times, and then gathers mud on the way back down that hardens into rock, making the boulder even bigger for the next go-round. Deleting the franchise could be considered a mercy killing after twenty-four years of misery and futility.
Yeah I couldn't take it anymore after the Babcock fiasco. If the Jackets are in the playoff hunt when football season ends, I will watch. Otherwise nope! Tired of this crap.

Tree has a beautiful place, glad to see him living well in that RayCon ad💜 good to see hard work pay off
The Coyotes is a weird one.
Anaheim makes me cry so much!
Hopefully Cutter doesn’t get bored in the next few seasons and force a trade to play with his hero Sidney before he retires.
"The Sharks answer to Dick Tarnstrom" lol. God, I've been waiting forever for someone else to reference that guy again.
I almost go Yinzer mode when tree does a hockey video.
Damn, a Raycon ad. Thats a blast from the past!
i feel bad for arizona losing their team to incompetent owners. however utah finally gets to exist, huzzah. i hope they learned from the kraken about how to brand a team. they did a good job targeting unique colors and an interesting logo and name combo. and if arizona can get the yotes back later aswell then all will be fine. i just cant stand the thought of an nhl without those cool ass jerseys.
As a redwing fan our goaltending is definitely our need for the next season
Looking good, Tree! The free time from no Penguins playoff games really paid off!
(cries in sad Blackhawk noises)
Washington passes Detroit only to be swept to the pits of hell in the first round
Not mentioning Lucas Raymond break out season during the wings section is disappointing
No one cares about him
@@GooseGumlizzardwrong
Raymond's been a beast. I just didn't know where to really put it (along with Seider's continued emergence).
Honestly, the whole Hocky Canada situation is wild. The fact it took this long for charges to be brought on these players is shocking yet not surprising.
The final nail in the Yotes coffin in this video: a goal against scored by Matthews, assisted by Knies. Coyotes ForNever.
Notice that other than being terrible, injuries were the main culprit of a lot of these teams not making it
The Devils would have still made it if they had competent goaltending.
Leisure Suit Larry reference... Gold!
As an Oiler's fan besides bringing suffering and misery to the LA Kings nothing brings me more joy then seeing the Flames return to poverty status.
Don't be too confident. Cup or bust this year. I'm rooting for you guys but your team doesn't make it easy
"How long will Columbus fans tolerate this?"
It's a question I asked myself when Phoenix was announced to be leaving.
The fact you referenced Leisure Suit Larry is insane and hilarious 😂
its good day when utree upload hockey video
shouldve said the blackhawks story was "connor bedard, and everyone died"
Apparently Celebrini has ties to the Sharks from youth hockey, and the idea of someone with potentially some excitement to play in SJ makes me happy.
His dad works for the Golden State Warriors, I think as part of the medical staff.
As a Ducks fan, these last few years have hurt hard. My hope is that this new season will be far better, especially with the rebranding going back to wild wing.
If Meruelo gets another shot with an expansion team in Phoenix, youre right back to square one on why the Coyoyes left in the first place
Wouldn’t it be apropos that Utah makes the playoffs in first year
And then Arizona just sits there and screams WHYYY
Pouring one out for Arizona hockey. RIP.
Thanks for Dadonov Ottawa, he's been a staple for the Stars
I like the general plan and direction my Blues are taking but man would I love if Brady Tkachuk has enough of OTT and demands a trade. Couldn’t win the sweepstakes for his brother but Brady would look great in Blue
@UrinatingTree or someone else, where can you find the music from NHL2000 at 13:30? I can’t find it anywhere on Spotify for example…
John Hynes will hold you back. I know from experience.
@UrinatingTree
What song did you use for Arizona in this video?
What's exhausting about being a 5th Liner here in Columbus (besides, yknow, EVERYTHING) is that the Monsters are *incredible*. Jet Greaves just played an absolutely insane game to move them to the next round of the Calder playoffs. I don't know why it doesn't translate. Maybe we should swap coaches.
Bard Larsen says hello
3:29 Jurassic Park Rampage Edition. Takes me back to the very depths of my childhood
The second round is pretty good so far this year
It's a bloodbath, good entertainment for a neutral fan ngl. Since Nashville got bounced in the first, I embrace the insanity.
#Let's Go Preds #NashivillePredators
Meanwhile my coworkers are shocked at my behavior ( NHL bandwagoneers who never even been to a hockey game or even known how to play till it was announced we'd get one)
Just a patient Hurricanes fan waiting for our video on Sunday/Monday!
RRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I dont know how to feel as a sharks fan like you said the team is recognizable yet the future is bright
7:26 were not. Davidson needs the boot. He groveled back to us in the forst place. Buying out johnny hockey is too costly so thats out. Laine were probably stuck with on the books too. Our youth have contracts up all at the same time with not enough money to please them all. Tale as old as time.
Red Canyon F-Zero for the kraken.
Once again tree giving F-zero some lovin!
Some day he’ll play Kraken of the Sea from Earthbound for them
Thought this would be the year for my Sabres finally , but ofc not loll, hopefully Lindy Ruff can light a fire and get this team to the playoffs.
I have no real complaints about Ruff in NJ, he’ll get you back there I think
Bro, I’m a die-hard, fully dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan and I don’t understand why you’re not taking the opportunity to riff on us right now
LOL. Me too! Been a Cardinal fan since 1963, and it’s NEVER been this f’cking bad.
The White Sox need a video first
Probably because baseball is about as exciting to watch as the fireplace channel. 😁
@@flerglnergl first of all, that fireplace channel is amazing. Second of all, if baseball is dull then hockey is just mindless full contact figure skating that involves grown men spastically chasing a rubber disc like a fumble in the Fiesta Bowl.
@@professionalamatuer8064 Hockey has more action in the first 20 mins than baseball has all game. They could use MLB as a sleeping pill in hospitals. 😁
We almost bullshitted our way into a playoff spot? Almost like another one of this city’s godforsaken franchises.
I love how the Blackhawks got the NFL on Fox Injury Theme. Seems fitting.
I laughed way too much at the : ''Sorry Sens fans, this clown train doesn't have any brakes'' with the circus music in the background. On that note, isn't that wild that the Sens had a 1st round pick docked for forgetting to send in upgraded paperwork, but actively hiding for a decade a player being sexually assaulted, nan, that's cool, here's a 1 million dollar ticket.
The Blackhawks deserve their failure for what they did. This scandal will never go away, not even if they win another cup.
@@Fuyu_Arashi99 i know, but that's my point.
Forget to send a fax on July 1st : 1st pick penalty.
Cover up a sexual assault of a black ace prospect during playoff run : . That's cool bro, keep your picks.
I can endure...I saw Cups in 2008, 2013, 2015. May God grant I live to see one more...Let's Go Hawks.
Please tell me you're doing a video on the dumpster fire of the new Arena Football League once that mess is all said and done. It is already real close to a Bishop Sycamore/Albany Empire-tier trainwreck!
Oh it's coming. It just needs a bit more time to cook.
As a Sharks fan, *life is pain* but let’s gooooo we got first pick! There’s a minuscule hope we start a good rebuild!
Man I miss Pavelski… And Thornton… and Marleau… actually just send me back to 2016 where I was happy.
As one of the few Ducks fans left in existence, this season has been a level of depression I didn't even know was possible. Losing out on Bedard was absolutely devastating. We really needed him.
As a new-ish Ducks fan, I can see a lot of upsides in the pipeline at least. This season didn't go well, but it's bound to go better sooner or later.
I like that NHL 2003 music in the beginning
leasure suit larry reference 👌👌👌
"Everyone died...The end" 😂😂
I see you played FF7 Rebirth by adding Aerith’s Theme. Nice touch
RIP to Johnny Gaudreau.
Indeed. Taken away from this world alongside his brother way too soon because of a stupid drunkard. :(
You can always tell when there is no NFL to cover by noticing that tree is NOT ignoring hockey.
16:11 when someone asks me what’s the fourth biggest city in france
I went to my first AA meeting for help told them the jackets are my team , they put a tap in just for me
RIP Johnny Hockey
Indeed. :(
