Nemik...from Andor. Good Quote and a Season 2 is coming late 2023 or early 2014. I'm surprised they didn't talk about how great some of the individual arcs were. Especially Aldahani Heist and the Prison escape with Andy Serkis.
@@TheMysteryDriver I kind of got the feeling they weren’t for me, but you never know. But when 2 or 3 people I like and respect their opinions all say it’s trash, I know it’s not worth my time!
One of my cousins makes fun of me cause I spend more time watching 70s/80s/90s classic sitcoms than most of these current overhyped shows but most of these shows I just found to be crap.
_Rings of Power_ stands as a towering indictment of the fact that *all the money in the world* is no substitute whatsoever for passion and talent. That show was staggeringly, monumentally, jaw-droppingly incompetant, and every single person involved should hang their heads in absolute shame (especially those in charge of signing off on it). What the hell were they thinking? And how could they even _imagine_ that this would go over well with audiences? I haven't see a fuck up this bad (and this expensive!) since... I don't know... Waterworld? Maybe?
Rings of Power had _some_ level of technical competency. Kenobi has equally bad writing with the benefit of being absolutely terrible technically. And Kenobi was just as insulting to Lucas as ROP was to Tolkien.
She-Hulk was the worst. They gained that honor when Jenn lectured her cousin (who had been chased by the government, tried to commit suicide, etc.) about how much worse she had it than him, because she had been "man-splained" a few times.
Yeah, I'm hard pressed to call any show worse than that. Because at least some other bad shows have maybe a couple likable actors/characters (even if they're not supposed to be likable, like RoP's villains!). And also some have good visuals. Not She Hulk. All the regulars were either boring or insufferable. Plus there's no real plot, as the last episode undid the one continuous plotline they had.
'Is there anything worse than dating in your 30's?' Um, yes, half of humanity being wiped out by an alien warlord but, hey, your Tinder experiences are far worse, right? 🤨
Exactly right. She literally had no redeeming qualities nor in any way relatable. She was a selfish narcissist who thought the world owed her a living. Who in their right minds thought she would make a good show character? - oh wait writers that share those exact same qualities. She was a self-insert.
@@gladiatorscoops4907 Yup. To the point in which daredevil was only in the show to have sex with the self insert because the lead writer has the hots for him.
Rings of Power. Not as bad as stuff like Willow or She Hulk in terms of actual quality, but far worse compared to its source material. Tolkien's work is a work of great cultural magnitude and Amazon's disgusting attempt to subvert it was thankfully met with righteous indignation from not only hardcore fans but general audiences.
The "deconstruction" trend is awful. I remember when The ABC Murders came out in 2018, which deconstructed Poirot. As a huge Agatha Christie fan I remember thinking "WTF is this??” It was ahead of its time, because now it's the norm! 😂
I think one of the crew here more knowledgeable about all the recent shows could do an episode tallying all the characters that have been deconstructed
You can only deconstruct stuff once, from them on, it's not deconstruction but it's own genre. Watchmen was a deconstruction of the superhero genre, the boys is not, is an entry in a new genre "superheros bad" I guess.

If Rambo First Blood came out exactly as is ( never seen before ) tomorrow, it would be the biggest hit of the year. When 80s movies look like masterpieces, Hollywood has reached peak failure.
First Blood is kind of an anti 80s film though. Imo atleast. It deserves way more praise. I went into it expecting something like Rambo 3 with a huge body count with a near unstoppable killing machine. Instead we get one accidental death and a PTSD victim snapping and breaking down in tears. That movie came out in the wrong era.
First blood is a cracker of a film - I'd also recommend the book as it's a little different (won't give it away for those who don't know) but a great story overall.
The funny thing is, Top Gun Maverick is not even a super amazing movie. It is great, but it is just so notable because so many popular films have been so bad.
@Brian Babin i said it was a great movie, i just said it is not necessarily an all time great. It just feels like such a breath of fresh air because it is a great movie among a slosh of mediocre movies
Toilet Duck is not for the faint of heart or weak of liver. Through years of training and dedication the Drinker has gained the ability to respawn new livers as necessary. He is an inspiration to us all. Happy New Year! 2022, go away now!
GO AWAY NOW, was the last thing someone told me last night after drinking so much at a new years eve party. I think I'm off to a good start for 2023 🥳😎
I thought Rogue One was the best thing Disney had made with the Star Wars IP outside of the first season of Mandalorian. So I finally caught up with Andor over Xmas and it was incredible, so much going on and you felt rewarded for actually following the plot and remembering characters throughout, that's what a good ensemble cast show does, like early Game of Thrones
Rogue One had literally every protagonist be something *other than* a white male... and every white male was a villain. It was a woke-washed bit of mediocrity.
I was pleasantly surprised (shocked even) by how much I enjoyed 'Andor'... though, I think a much better name for the show would have been simply 'Rebellion', since the show focused on so many different elements and perspectives of the rising rebellion against the Empire... on both sides of the fence almost equally, which was very refreshing.
Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is also great. Nicolas Cage still got it and Pedro Pascal is also really good in it. Good story, good comedy, even some good action here and there. A lot of people forget about this movie and they really shouldn't.
I too am quite surprised there wasn’t more chatter about Unbearable weight… from movie lovers. For what it wants to be it’s practically a flawless film. The actors kill it, the script is smart, the jokes land, the pacing, editing, design are all spot on…
For film and TV, Top Gun: Maverick and House of the Dragon were the top of the pile for me in terms of production and story. Cobra Kai is fun and enjoyable, knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything else, which makes it great. On Games: Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, God of War: Ragnarok, and Pokemon Legends Arceus were top of the pile for what I played. It seemed to be a slow year for gaming, but 2023 looks to pack a huge number of releases in that are going to destroy a Gamer's wallet.
I'm surprised Drinker & Friends didn't mention The Terminal List and Reacher as being among the good series and better offerings of 2022. Only 2 movies out of the whole year made the grade for me: Top Gun: Maverick and The Northman(Norseman). Both were badass. Maybe out of all the Marvel character stuff, Spiderman: No Way Home was pretty decent, but that one was more tied to Sony then Disney. I guess that's why it didn't suck.
@@MrX-zz2vk For me, 2022's best movies were Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. (The Northman's on my Amazon Prime queue - I simply haven't made the time to watch it yet.) I thought Top Gun: Maverick was meh, but then again, I've never seen the original Top Gun.

I was probably more excited for She-Hulk episodes than any other show (except Better Call Saul, a diamond in the rough) for the same reason. Analyzing the bad writing as rich, LA feminist fan fiction was so much fun
I’d not heard of Disparu until this comment and you’re bang on. Super entertaining reviews of Willow chocked full of sarcasm has got me laughing. Thanks John Hughes.
The rings of power disappointment hits the hardest because most of us are LOTR ( books and movies) fans. They spit on Tolkien's grave. Best movies and series to come out this year: -Everything, everywhere all at once -All quiet on the western front -The Norhtsman -Top Gun 2 -The Black Phone -RRR -Better call Saul (season finale) -Severance -Terminal List -House of the dragon -Cobra kai
Thanks for all your videos this year Drinker! As the film industry suffers under the grip of the mind virus it is so very comforting to hear a sane voice speak out and filter through the dross for those little nuggets of movie gold! Lest hope we have more to play with in 2023!

@@Dschinghiss Eh, that movie was at LEAST entertaining in a “so bad it’s good” kinda way. Especially with the scene of that guy dancing lmao Not for these shows or these movies however.
What infuriates me about the stuff we've had this year is that in about half of them, the writers _weren't_ just writing bad fanfic. They had some deep-vault lore at their disposal, and they face-rolled over the setting anyway. In the Halo series, for instance, I remember two things from the show that pissed off the fanbase. The use of Hunters as separate worms, for instance, _is_ kind of supported by the lore: in one of the novels, we see Hunters separated out from their hulking, armored warrior forms into their component worms. The Covenant was using them to work their way into inaccessible bits of Forerunner tech to clean them out. That had to be taught, too: originally, the Covenant wanted to eradicate them as vermin, since the Hunters preferred eating the Forerunner tech itself. Convincing them to serve as miniature walking tanks and not eat Forerunner tech is a big point in Covenant history: one of the Arbiters was described as being responsible for "the taming of the Hunters" in the opening of Halo 2. So, a boatload of the worms infiltrated into a ship's systems, chewing through vital components, would understandably ruin a ship in short order. Injecting them into an enemy ship as part of a boarding action makes some sense, and disassembling themselves into independent worms is a thing Hunters can do. But the individual worms themselves are quite weak. Pistol shots and rifle buttstrokes to unprotected worms from a normal human are enough to take down Hunters if you hit them in un-armored spots in the games. Despite this, a few dozen worms are somehow enough to overwhelm the entire armed, alerted Navy crew and Marine contingent of a UNSC warship in open battle? Bullshit. Dr. Halsey is another example. In the games, she's standoffish and possessive of "her" SPARTAN-II's, to the point that she hates the existence of SPARTAN 3's and 4's, but at the end of the day, it's no big deal: no one knows more about the SPARTAN project than she does, and it's a war for mankind's survival, so anything goes, right? In the show, she's a frigid misanthropic control freak, the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) she works for is a sinister spy agency, and the child abductions they're complicit in are the least of their crimes. In supplementary materials, the show's characterization of Halsey and ONI is... Pretty thoroughly supported. One of the preorder bonuses of Halo: Reach (back in an era when that meant something) was Halsey's personal diary, in a physical book format. In one entry, she reflects on having kidnapped over a hundred kindergarteners for the SPARTAN-II project, and the fates of the doomed flash-grown clone body doubles these children were replaced with. In-universe, flash-cloning is fine for replacing organs and such, but doing a whole person is too tall an order for the tech to handle. Such a clone will invariably die of sudden, aggressive, incurable cancers within a few years. Halsey's response to seeing the ONI surveillance reports on the nearly 200 families she'd just destroyed as they saw their healthy, brilliant children suddenly and inexplicably wither and die was to be shocked at these icky "feelings" she was experiencing, and to stop reading the reports. But taking that to mean that the UNSC as a whole is ultimately no better morally than the openly genocidal Covenant? Go home, Paramount, you're drunk. In broad strokes, these things _are_ supported by the lore, and demonstrate that the writers did some deep dives to find them. A single book, a throwaway line in one game, and a preorder bonus: these details were not easy to find. They frakking _knew_ these things, but then turned around and bunged them into the show in the worst possible way anyway. That is, IMO, the most infuriating part of 2022.
I ate up the lore. Hands down Eric Nylund is my favorite author for science fiction for canon. And I read a lot of SW books when I was a teenager. I rp and tie the Halo lore with Red vs Blue and rp Spartan II. I always rp Halsey and her Spartan’s with the respect and reverence that is shown in Nylund’s books. Especially with the lore that many forget that she’s actually extremely neutral if it helps her Spartan’s and humanity. I never watched Halo because at first glance, I knew it was going to be bad. Especially since I saw all the red flags when it came to how they treated Halsey and her Spartan’s in 343 how this show was heading already. This was before I even saw defense of Chief removing his helmet. That was a larger red flag. The first thing I heard from the show was Chief fucking a Convenant spy. I think I broke my phone with the amount of rage I said to my friend when I told her that. This was before EFAP; this was before Halsey, the Mac Canon, Covenant, the teenage girl hero, and the “happy pill” (I know what it is, but it pisses me off too much to say the actual name). Every fucking scene, just listening to EFAP, fucking pissed me off so much, had so many issues, and was so far off canon and made no sense in any way possible that I could not be pissed off. I had to pause every scene and take a few minutes to calm down because I was that pissed. I stopped texting my friend halfway through because she was so furious she started to swear and rant, which she never does. I have seen worse adaptations; I have seen things that destroy my childhood more... I have never been so pissed off at a series so much that every scene fucking pissed me off so much I had to rant about it.
The halo show legitimately hurts my soul. Like most others I knew it was gonna be bad, but when I got to the part where the rabid insurgent girl is threatening to blame her people's massacre on the UNSC instead of the galactic doomsday cult of Aliens whose only goal is the eradication of humanity I was actually pissed off. Halo has it's moral grey moments, but at no point is the UNSC implicated to be just as bad as the Covenant because it objectively isn't. Not to mention the retarded insurgent girl's plan completely falls apart with just the bare minimum of thought but Miranda Keyes(who they race swapped by the way because of course they did...) acts like the girls got them cornered? The real Master Chief would've snapped that chicks neck like a chicken bone the absolute moment he perceived her as a threat to humanity let alone if it was a direct order. But the part that truly made me check out was seeing a high ranking *human* within the Covenant's hierarchy. The whole Goddamn point of the war is that the mere existence of humans threatens the Prophet's power and challenges their belief that they were chosen by the forerunners, the center of their religion. The Prophet's would never under any circumstances allow a human among their ranks, not even a willing defector. It completely defeats the entire purpose of the Covenant's great journey, which is the pinnacle of their goals and agendas.
I watched BULLET TRAIN last night and that one was a lot of fun. Even though it does move towards the most ridiculously OTT climax I've seen in recent years.
It's a fantastic movie but wtf has happened to Sandra Bullock!? Shes looking more and more like Michael Jackson as she ages and she denies plastic surgery.
@@kmb957 Yeah, it's ridiculous. I don't think even her eyeballs are capable of moving these days. And I don't think botox is technically considered 'surgery'.
Just finished watching Severance. I didn't know what to make of it at first, but each episode drew me in further and by the last few episodes I was *fully* invested.
Bullet Train was fun to watch, but I read the book it was based on prior to watching the movie, and the book ruined it for me. The casting of the movie was so diversity woke that it didn't make sense sometimes, especially the one British and black American "twins." The real villain is the prince, which was switched to a teenaged girl with daddy issues. Totally dumbed down the character from the book.
Best thing I've watched this year (on the Drinker's recommendation, mind you): Arcane. I've never played League of Legends, and I'm probably never *going* to play League of Legends (I'm terrible at shooters) - but HOLY FUCK, that TV show was amazing. I can't wait for Season 2!
My biggest surprise was Nope. I haven’t seen a movie that I’ve fallen in love with so quickly in a long time, but Nope was just so great. Loved the atmosphere, loved the characters, loved how surprisingly scary it was. You can just tell that there’s so much love poured into it.
The cartoons came in clutch this year. Arcane, Invincible, Legend of Vox Machina, Non comic book stuff was good- Northman, Top Gun 2, All quiet on the western front, RRR, 1899 was quite a mindfuck, everything everywhere, House of TD
These guys don't really touch on horror, but things I liked this year: Don't Hug Me I'm Scared - not as good as the original web series, but overall had some great stuff in it. Terrifier 2 - If you like practical gore effects, this really delivers Smile was good, and I like Barbarian too...but their endings made it like the year of the Giant Nekkid Grandmas. X was ok, but I actually really enjoyed Ruby
Bullet Train, Puss in Boots 2 (surprisingly), Elvis, Smile, Werewolf by Night, Fall, and Violent Night are all from the ladder half of this year and are really good, I’m surprised no one in the EFAP crew has mentioned them
Elvis was absolutely atrocious. First movie that I ever walked out of, it was THAT bad. 90% of what I saw, consisted of Elvis' manager (who was, by all accounts, a complete asshole) glorifying himself. I'm speaking as the granddaughter of what's probably the biggest Elvis fan on God's green Earth, by the way.

One of my favourite films this year was Phil Tippett's stop animated nightmare, Mad God. Seen very little else that has impressed me as much as that. Flux Gourmet, Cosmic Dawn and The Northman would be other top movie picks. The Batman and Top Gun Maverick were decent as well.
Reacher was one of the few outliers in 2022 and the complex and interesting characters made me stick around. The storyline was enjoyable too. Watched The Northman because of Drinker’s recommendation video. And it was definitely worth the time. So very few gems in the mountain of shit that was 2022 entertainment
Yes, Reacher was my favorite streaming show of the year. Looking forward to Season 2. Andor was a big surprise also, could of shaved off an episode or 2 but overall solid.
The Northman and Everything Everywhere all at Once, both worked their way onto my favorite movies of all time list. So at least we got those. The two of those and the Lighthouse, are the only movies that stand out to me from the last few years.
Just watched the first three episodes of Andor. Wow, very impressive production and immersive story telling. It's best not to think too much about the fact this is a star wars story, especially as it relates to the sequels. The point is, its made by true professionals who care about their craft. It would be interesting if Gilroy and Filoni could come together and discuss ideas.
I’d love to hear Drinkers opinion on more horror movies. Prey is definitely more action than horror, and i haven’t seen Voilent Night yet. I’d consider 2022 a great year for the genre. Movies like Nope, X, Pearl, The Black Phone, etc have all been a breath of fresh air.
Its been there in some form for the past 12 years or so from what I remember. 2015-2016 though, with Gamergate and Trump, is when it went into overdrive. Those two things completely broke the entertainment industry (along with everything else), as the only thing that mattered was being against all the "bad" things. And if you were/are not okay with everything being turned into blatant political propaganda, then that makes you a (insert ist/phobe here).
so happy Northman got a mention, I got dragged by my wife to it because she love viking stuff and i was blew away and moved by the Northman movie. the cineotography, the music, and raw emotions i dont remember having such an movie experience for a long long LONG time.

The Bear on Disney was really good and different. Highly recommended. I enjoyed the prison drama Black Bird on Apple with two fantastic performances. And Slow Horses with Gary Oldman is worth watching.
It's honestly quite hilarious to think that two years later, we're gonna see a blue Hedgehog and a blue Navi fighting over who'll dominate the box office!😂 EDIT: Oh... well that didn't age well.🙁
I think DreamWorks can be a great contender with some of its animated movies. The Bad Guys was decent but Puss in Boots 2 was phenomenal. So, I have hope for them. Then there is Christopher Nolan with ' Oppenheimer '.
Didn't hear it in the video, but I gotta give a shout out to Puss in Boots Last wish! Even though it's supposed to be a kids movie, I loved it! Would definitely recommend for one of the best movies of 2022, even in the past 5 years. Was very refreshing to see, it was like something back to my childhood!
@@clogs4956 personally i like Gwendolyn Christie as Lucifer way better than Tom Ellis. Merging Johanna and John Constantine so the characters can be played byvone person makes sense when adapting source material. Girls who played Death and Rose Walker were rather good IMO. Lady who played Lucienne was a bit on the wooden side. Desire as a genderless character is straight from comics. As I've said rewriting Brute and Glob arc stung. I can but guess why they did that. The series was cast colour blind but doesn't feel like fulfilling quotas and you may be surprised how much of gay and transsexual themes Gaiman placed in his works 30 years ago.
Worst of the Year overall for me had to be Rings of Power. A lot of other things were absolute crap and a slap to my childhood (Looking at YOU, Kenobi and Willow) but as a die-hard Tolkien fan since as far back as I can remember, that one pissed me off. Best of the year... honestly, I didn't watch too much new stuff this year that wasn't crap. I didn't even get around to watching Northman or Top Gun (I know, I know, I'll get to it eventually). I did like The Black Phone though. I'm not really into horror, but I enjoyed that one quite a bit.

Was it perfect? NAH, there were plenty of plot points, character choices, etc that I could pick apart if I really wanted, but.........I didn't feel the need to! It was so beautiful and fun in the (typical Guy Ritchie fashion) stylized, lots of comical/meaningful/playful call-backs to previous character moments/lines, great fight choreography befitting old-school cinema, etc.........that how could one NOT love it? It was loveable, heartfelt 'gangsta' comedy-in-dark-situations' fun-times that how could anyone NOT give it an easy pass? Here's to you and yours, gents. You're never perfect, your takes aren't always perfect, I'm not perfect, none of us is ultimately perfectly objective.........but you bring a lot of wonderful and useful critical analysis, call out bullshit as bullshit (even if I may not always agree ONE HUNDRED percent), and I appreciate y'all 🙏. DreamWorks came up with some good movies. The Bad Guys was a fun ride. And Puss in Boots is one of the best movies that they have made. It actually resonated very well with both adults and kids with its mature themes. So yeah, a couple of gems in an endless stream of trash.

I was a preteen in the Philippines in the late 80s, and there was a period where I was watching those two and "Flight of the Navigator" just about every other weekend. I still like them a lot- they're just fun movies. I happily haven't heard of any attempts to tinker with "Legend", but Disney wants to remake "Flight" with a girl lead and directed by Bryce Howard. Fortunately, it keeps having problems getting off the ground.
The Northman for film and Andor for TV were the highlights of the year for me. Participation awards for both the new movie and series for Beavis and Butthead!
2022 might have been a crap year for movies and shows but it was a great year for gamers. Horizon, Stray, GoW, Elden Ring, A Plagues Tale Requiem... and so many others. I enjoyed gaming and the rich stories they created and the joy they gave me more than any show or movie released.
I think it’s gotta go to rings of power. It’s a desecration of not only a dead man’s legacy but one of the best films ever. And yet the budget was so damn much.

Drinker, please, the moment you get the chance you need to watch Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. It is honestly the greatest animated movie that has come out in years and it really has the feel of the older Dreamworks classics like the Kung Fu Pandas, HTTYD, and Shrek. Every character is likeable, the humor is on point, the villains are spectacular, the score is amazing, the animation and visuals are gorgeous, and the plot is just perfect. There weren't a lot of people in our theatre and that worries me because I don't want this gem to fail and then we lose hope of quality animated movies making a comeback.
Not sure if these guys have even watched the show but we got season 6 of Seal Team this year which was pretty great. If they have never watched Seal Team they definitely should.

She Hulk was the worst for me. That was absolutely terrible and the lead was so so unlikable
@@gladiatorscoops4907
Yup.
The deconstruction of Darth Vader or the deconstruction of Tolkien - it has been a bad year for legends.
Deconstruction is what writers do when they're out of ideas, or have no imagination.
Deconstructed my ass. They can’t dent such a legacy, no matter how hard they try. It’s attempted blasphemy.
You can only deconstruct stuff once, from them on, it's not deconstruction but it's own genre. Watchmen was a deconstruction of the superhero genre, the boys is not, is an entry in a new genre "superheros bad" I guess.
She Hulk failed to understand about every aspect of coherent writing, human behaviour, actual average women, sanity, compelling characters......
The left can no longer define what a woman is.
Don't worry, She-Hulk's in the same bar as me right now. I'll go talk to it.
Don’t forget the misandry lol
Gau's eyes went stone dead when she gloated that they pre-planned in advance to troll the trolls.
The woman was lying like she looked. The industry is churning out women with 3rd grade levels of aptitude and maturity.

If Rambo First Blood came out exactly as is ( never seen before ) tomorrow, it would be the biggest hit of the year. When 80s movies look like masterpieces, Hollywood has reached peak failure.
I watched that movie again last night and was impressed with how much I enjoyed it.
Im now watching and re watching more films from the 80s and 90s than I ever had before simply because of the dross we are now getting
That's still a damn good movie, and Stallone is actually really good in it.
Having watched Top Gun Maverick again last night, I can say that nothing Disney produces can come close anymore
The funny thing is, Top Gun Maverick is not even a super amazing movie. It is great, but it is just so notable because so many popular films have been so bad.
Why not? Disney did Force Awakens and they both ripoff shamelessly A New Hope.
Iron Eagle 2 plot with modern filming and lots of practical effects

@@phoenixdzk Very apt analogy. I stopped playing at Infinity War. Never bothered to watch anything since.

Eh, that movie was at LEAST entertaining in a “so bad it’s good” kinda way.
Especially with the scene of that guy dancing lmao
Not for these shows or these movies however.
As a fanfiction writer and fan of Halo and more, I very much agree

The story from Horizon makes me want to stick a pencil in my eye, and if I want to fight big monsters I can play Monster Hunter.
Muh boi, Drinky, nailing it at 12:08. I mean, you guys are so right: it's hard to remember all the INSANE amounts of shitty films and television shows in 2022, and harder yet to keep track of those few, gleaming "diamonds in the rough", as it were, but............as soon as you pointed out "Everything Everywhere All At Once", Will?.......shoot, it took me FOREVER to get around to watching that, but it really deserved all the accolades I can recall it getting from not only yourself but many others as well -what a simple, joyful, and very artistically realized delight. I'm glad that in the shitstorm of (generously called) "media" that was 2022, you did not fail to recall that good, joyful, and creative project to our minds 👍.
I also appreciated you guys touching on "Bullet Train (2022)". I just watched that, for New Years Eve, with family and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was gonna be shit, but it ended up being a really fun, silly time, directed by a former STUNT COORDINATOR, of all people (which says something awesome about it), and which felt like a direct HOMAGE to the director Guy Ritchie that I love so very much.
Stay up and stay well, and please continue to stay open-minded, as is the only both rationally and spiritually healthy approach for any one of us dirty lil humans, lol😉.
DreamWorks came up with some good movies. The Bad Guys was a fun ride. And Puss in Boots is one of the best movies that they have made. It actually resonated very well with both adults and kids with its mature themes. So yeah, a couple of gems in an endless stream of trash.
it was a fantastic year for anime
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
chainsaw man (drinker please watch chainsaw man its only 12 episodes for season 1)
bleach thousand year blood war was something I've been waiting a decade for and it did not disappoint!
demon slayer season 2
mob psycho season 3
gundam the witch from mercury
dragon ball super: super hero
jujutsu kaisen 0
SpyxFamily
My Dress-Up Darling
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean
Attack on Titan: The Final Season
entertainment and amazing stories are thankfully thriving in japan there's no sign of that lowing down anytime soon
The original “Willow” film is one of my favorites. I still don’t understand how it and Ridley Scott’s “Legend” don’t get enough love!
The Terminal List is this years Top Gun Maverick of TV shows no identity politics just straight forward action story telling.
But the critics hated it!😂😂
@@TheGava4 Which means it was a good show
@@davidsummer8631 yep
I’d say BCS takes that spot
Fuck, I forgot about that show. Shit was great, seems like it came out so long ago.
Violent Night and Bullet Train are two movies very worth watching!
Re Avatar 2: "An epic is the easiest kind of picture to make badly"- Charlton Heston.
2022 might have been a crap year for movies and shows but it was a great year for gamers. Horizon, Stray, GoW, Elden Ring, A Plagues Tale Requiem... and so many others. I enjoyed gaming and the rich stories they created and the joy they gave me more than any show or movie released.
>She-Hulk in thumbnail
Basically sums this year up, hopefully Clown World Year 3 will do better
I watches the Starsky and Hutch pilot again the other day. Pure class. Not a single scene is wasted.
I can definitively say that RRR is single hand the best of the best this year
All quiet on the western front, The black phone, Top Gun 2 are also great movies.
Happy new year drinker!!! 🎇🍾
I think it’s gotta go to rings of power. It’s a desecration of not only a dead man’s legacy but one of the best films ever. And yet the budget was so damn much.
Criminally underrated film of the year was Bullet Train. Brilliant film 🙌
I enjoyed "Wednesday," except the last episode blew it. Don't think I've heard The Drinker ever talk about it though.
"From" and "chronos" (if i remember right) were actually really great shows that flew under the radar and noone talked about but were actually really great
Was ANYONE ELSE expecting a surprise MAULER VIDEO ESSAY for NEW YEARS?!?!!?
So disappointed not to see a proper new video from the Longman to finish off 2022.. :(
In current year it's easiest just to list what wasn't bad, it's sometimes impossible to find "good".
Gary needs to play Halo MCC, Uncharted and the God Of War franchise. Lmao
The Apple sci-fi show Severance was really good. I’d say best sci-fi offering in a very long time.
Yep. One of the best this year.
Yes he should watch it. It was awesome and underrated.
After the reacher movies I thought the series would be so-so but I’m happy it was solid .probably my favourite of the year
Severance is the best show of 2022 imo.
The Menu was a fun little flick right at the end.
Violent Night: Santa was a Berserker in a previous life. That’s awesome.
Not sure if these guys have even watched the show but we got season 6 of Seal Team this year which was pretty great. If they have never watched Seal Team they definitely should.
I actually really enjoyed avatar 2 🤷♂️
Reacher and Terminal List were high lights for me!
