same. my least fav part is that he plays no role past this point except to add one more to the ensemble of Moriah stand users that support Josuke and the gang.
Oh hell yeah. This is my favorite Jojo episode, maybe my favorite anime episode of all time. Only through the buildup of part 3 where every stand user of the week is an enemy, and the continued trend in part 4, could they believably set off the immediate suspicion of Tonio that this episode needs to work. And yet... this isn't a bad guy of the week show any more, it's a slice of life. I love how this carries on the assumptions of the previous part to do something unique and special and expand the world--Stand users don't have to be fighters, they can just be people with an abiding drive to do something in their life. It truly exemplifies the Jojo's spirit of each generation's will being inherited and added to by the next, and is something that's only possible with the unique Part format. Absolute masterpiece right here.
In the manga, his name is Tonio Trussardi; his name is after the fashion brand of the same name... His stand's actual name is Pearl Jam, after the band of the same name...
"Maybe he has really good aim, and he wanted to put it in the door frame." That's exactly what it is. It looks weird to us westerners, but it's part of the "rough cook" trope that exists in Japan, about this guy who knows the kitchen so well and can handle his knives with masterful skill. You can also see it, as part of the greater homage to Japan that that movie is, done by Hanzo (to his son) in Kill Bill Vol. 1.
Araki said to himself: “Why can’t stand users just be normal?” And he decided that the readers probably wouldn’t expect that, and chose to play with their expectations.
This is legitimately one of my favourite episodes of jojos and a perfect example of why part 4 works, still exited for whats to come when certain plotpoints become releveant, as im sure literally everyone in the comments is also waiting for haha.
This is one of my favorite episodes, I remember reading it on the manga and laughing my ass off, loved the exaggerated expressions on Okuyasu's face, also I love Tonio's accent!

This is my favourite episode of Part 4. But yeah, why does almost EVERY stand user in this part come off as a complete psycho? I guess that's Jojo's for ya.
Lmao I saw Abi and Imon licking their chops when they saw Tonio. Tonio's cool though. Tonio's stand is to literally an ability that gives health benefits to any food he cooks. The flavor is just a bonus as a result of Tonio being a good cook!
Pearl Jam, Tonio's Stand, is the one Stand I wish existed in reality. It'd be so useful; a few moments of discomfort in exchange for not only amazingly good food, but also full recovery from any physical ailment? Sign me up. I do love that Araki does the dog bit, too; absolutely making a joke about his own trope. And yeah, Old Man Joseph's on his way.
