For the reason 096 was OP, you forgot one reason, he would enrage for 30 seconds for the 1st guy and than 5 seconds (I think it was 5) for every other person after, which had no cap, which means if a spawn wave of 10 people looked at him that means he would be enraged for 1 minute and 15 seconds.
I remember the old 106 pocket dimension system where if someone found the exit to escape, they could leave a item and it would be the same entrance for the entire round, thus making 106 almost useless as everyone had the same exit point.

One thing I remember about old SCPs is that they had a chance to win because the skill ceiling hasn't been reached by many and people were actually scared of the game
That is very good point that isn't really talked about. Especially with guns, sure the guns probably lured people in who enjoy gunplay, but back then aimgods weren't as prevalent
I think that's the main reason why people dislike new SL, the devs like CS:GO so they keep trying to treat it like CS:GO. Hubert himself has said in several interviews that CS:GO was his main inspiration for several reworks (guns, new MTF model, surface if we ever get it). The problem that arises from this, is that SCP:SL IS NOT CS GO.

I remember coming across this game when it was actually unplayable. Still in development. The only thing you could do was spawn in as the characters and that was about it. Deleted the game, but some months later, it grew a massive following. Crazy to see.
Youve inspired me to make my first SCP-SL video! thanks alot now i got to wait 100hours for it to get uploaded. Keep up the good work with your fun content.
i remember a time when the "armory" was an empty box with a bunch of ammo strewn about on the floor. dont know whats up with this newfangled table but at least the janitor has somewhere to put it now.
I find the specifics of older SL to be abusable and broken oftentimes, but the wacky chaotic nature was always entertaining. The modern version attempts to deliver a more coherent and fair gameplay experience, while the other is riddled with memorable moments. Theres people who prefer and like the new direction, but it makes me sad knowing they basically abandoned the original ideas that made this game stand out in the first place. Old sl isnt better because it was balanced. It was better because it was all about fun.
I get why they removed 012, but man that was some of the most fun Ive ever had in this game trapping scps in there was the best. The best was when you trapped them with you and you just made from of them for a while. Also pback in the day most servers didnt have auto nuke and wouldnt say when you were the last one alive. I know I'm a little late to the party but man did this bring back a huge wave of nostalgia. I want to say I've played SCPSL from the very beginning because I 100% remember the cafeteria and old doctor(?) room. #1 thing I miss the most is probably the old SCPCB noises (I miss the grinder door sounds). MTF only had two roles, Private and Captain iirc and the privates couldn't open the exit gate doors with their cards so if the captain was AFK, the wave was just stuck outside. People stuck in the pocket dimension all had the same exit point so if you got stuck in there with a group of people you would just take turns dropping an item and taking the chance to get out. The 2 939s could talk to any player nearby by holding down the radio button so they could try and get into 914 but most players would get to close to the doors and their head would poke through giving them away. Thats the early stuff tho. At one point there a pressure plate in 079's room that would killer players randomly and because Ragdolls were frozen after a certain amount of time ragdolls would alot of the time freeze in place. Two of my favorite screenshots are a chaos agent stuck floating in the air like he was falling and two d-boys in glass room stuck plastered against the windows. Its too bad they got rid of 012, Merchant in there was cool. Friendly fire being on by default on official servers made the elevator a deathtrap with how money people would suicide with the grenades on wave spawn.
