Cd projekt red did much better job.Slavic vibe is one of the things that i miss with tv show.
Maciej Dabrowski
I agree the games did Slavic influence better, but the Slavic influence is more about the environment imo, the Witcher has more far reaching influences than just Slavic culture, the monsters in the lore are from all over the world in terms of folk lore, like a big example are djinns which are completely Arabic, I don’t recal Slavic djinns ever lmao. If you haven’t, read the books and you’ll see what I mean, there is medieval folk lore from all over the world populating the continent, not just Slavic.
The biggest complaint I have about the games is the first two games story wise are weird as hell, the whole amnesia thing was just a cop out to get people into the world, but in terms of characters and story it doesn’t make much sense, like the fact characters like vesemir, Dandelion, Lambert, eskel, etc didn’t tell Geralt about yen or ciri makes absolutely no sense at all, triss is a little more believable because she was always weirdly obsessed with Geralt but there is no chance in hell the triss in the books wouldn’t tell Geralt about his adoptive daughter he loves to death, she is no where near that selfish, that being said that’s why the the wild hunt is my favorite of the games, it’s the only one that feels like it could actually follow the books, I enjoy them all but if you’re a big fan of the book series the first two games make absolutely no sense at all and just kinda feels like cd projekts weird triss loving fan fiction.
@@jazzyb3424 That's so true. I watched the show and then went and read all the books. Skipped straight to the Witcher 3, which I'm playing rn, and tbh you're right about the weird Triss obsession lol. For me, Geralt and Yennefer are great together, so the possible romance line with Triss feels like an odd fanfiction
@@jazzyb3424 Why would it need to follow the books? Face the facts, the games are what brought this franchise into the limelight and turned it into a mainstream phenomena. If they didn't exist at least 80% of its fans, and that's really low-balling it imo, wouldn't know or wouldn't give a shit about it, regardless of how good or not the books are. Even my friends who don't play any games say that the Netflix series is adapted from the games because they haven't heard of the books. Even if they're not the original authours I think that CDPR has more than proven themselves that they can handle writting about the world of The Witcher judging by how the games, especially the 3rd one are considered one of the best pieces of art of all time.
@@iKloudz because you did not play witcher 2 where Triss is the main love in Geralt's life.
That's because Netflix Want's it to be the new GOT.
The song the vampire was singing can also be known as the monster's lullaby. Listen to the lyrics of the full song and you'll see. It's can be said some monsters sing it to their children to warn them about their version of the boogeyman (witchers).
The name of the song is "Lullaby of Woe".
@@horusli4874 Yeah, forgot it for a bit, but I like the unofficial name better.
why does everyone keep perpetuating that monsters sing it to their young to warn them of witchers. the reality is that witchers are pariahs in the witcher universe and are only tolerated when needed. regular people sing that to their kids. witchers are seen as monsters.
ytaccno3 didn’t the vampire say folk have forgotten about it? I wouldn’t be surprised if monsters did sing this song to they’re young, that would be that more awesome if they did
@@lorddeath6300 she lives amongst people my lad. also if it was a song that monsters sang, why would geralt say "haven't heard it in a while"? did he often sneak on monsters putting their kids to sleep? also, why would monsters have things like orianna in their minds ("got other things on their minds" "things like me"). the entire exchange is a reference to the happenings of blood and wine. after detlaff fucked shit up people's attention and hatred in beauclair shifter from witchers to vampires in the region. hence why they don't often sing a song demonizing witchers anymore.
You're badass when the MONSTERS sing a song about YOU ;)
Geralt = Fantasy Doom Guy
Joel senju fact
@@joelmorningstar3645 nah, at least geralt has to upgrade and struggle against monsters, while DOOMGUY just goes fuck this shit, fuck this, FUCK THIS!
I was late to the Witcher party, started playing W3 for the first time only a few weeks ago. Brilliant game. As for the trailer it was amazing, the quality that was produced in the final product to the point that you can actually see the witches exact moment of death in her face, it lasted a spilt second but it's there.
Please Do reaction for Killing Monsters trailer you'll love it
"Wha..what are you doing?"
Geralt: "Killing monsters." Love the way he says that. And with just two words he tells you what kind of a character he is. The trailers for the game were awesome.
And The Trail!
@@bettygeorgieva7751 Lambert actually makes fun of Geralt in the Witcher 3 for saying that
@@Zonedoutallthetime I only just played that mission the other day, thought that was hilarious

Killing Monsters next. I had chills when I was watching it for the first time. As a polish person I recommend you to check "original" polish version just to compare the voices. Polish Geralt is more natural. It's - Wiedźmin 3: Dziki Gon - Zabijając potwory
Now that's an interesting idea! Didn't realize there was a polish version!
@@geek-out By the ways in polish version in The Witcher netflix show Geralt is dubbed by actor that was casted in polish adaptation in 2001. So that's a wink to polish fans.
I love English Geralt. And yes, I've heard both.
I’m a 3rd gen Polish American and I’m bilingual but I prefer Doug Cockle a lot more but they’re both great!
in the story this takes place later later on in future seasons in the show.
Everytime I see this trailer I feel sad for Orianna, because in their eyes the Witcher is the monster who hunt them down for coin.... she knows someday he will come to kill her! :(
bruv u find out in blood and wine she use to feed on children (drink their blood)
The Witcher games captured and depicted so well that many monsters are just humans who have been cursed and are suffering from their curse. Love how the trailer captures that tragedy.
But that monster is an actual monster? Yes many monsters are cursed humans and many humans are monsters, but I don’t see how that correlates to the trailer coz Orianna is actually a vampire
They DID put the opening cinematic from Witcher 1 as an episode, tho. Which ALSO is a brilliant cinematic, especially for it's time.
Stefan Eriksson that’s not true at all lol, the opening cinematic from the first game is just them recreating the striga fight from the first short story in “the last wish” where Geralt cures king foltests daughter of a curse. The show doing it is just them adapting the short story, and the fight plays out exactly like that in the book so both the show and game got it from the writing, the show didn’t get it from the game lmao.
It's very nice when someone knows and understand the witcher novels. Its not ab a war, politics, intrigue- this is a background. Its ab geralt and his relationships with ciri and yen. Netflix doesnt get it, they want new got.
I just wish I could play that game over without knowing anything
And here you can see a man of culture
Sounds like the song is one written by "monsters" :P ...of the boogeyman that is a witcher.
Show runner has said that she won’t be incorporating anything from the games. At least not yet
She sure did but one can hope things might change since the author of the books and the game development company fixed their drama and relationship/deals after the Netflix show came out.
Richard Vang not to mention they all help each other out, the games wouldn’t have existed without the books, the show wouldn’t exist without the games, and the release of the show has put sales for the games and books at an all time high, it’s a stretch but I wish for them to adapt the wild hunt after the main series is done.
You and me both! The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt was an awesome story! If they do pull from the games I'm hoping they don't just pull the story. The music was also amazing! The netflix music is good but the game soundtrack is epic.
Richard Vang I think hearts of stone would be amazing television as well haha
That was Orianna from the Blood and Wine expansion. I don't feel sorry for her at ALL! She ran an orphanage where she would feed off the children in return for her protection. Glad that Geralt killed her.
Turtle Sushii if I lived in a desolate medieval fantasy world full of monsters I would tale that a million times before being an orphan I crookback bog lmao. It’s the lesser evil my friend
They didn't take this scene for one small reason... Based on BOOKS, not GAMES. From the games they could repeat only intro to The Witcher 1 because it is like in books.
The Witcher potion is deadly to normal human.
ah the black blood potion
John, Did you get to know the witcher first from the game or from books?
Greetings from Poland.
Much love from Las Vegas to Poland!
So I was first exposed to the Witcher from the Witcher 3 game. And to be honest, the 1st half of the game was overload because they just dump you deep into the lore. The story only became enjoyable because between each gameplay session I would go online and read about the history of the characters, and the books. Kind of wished I read the books first and enjoyed the slow burn of learning of each character to appreciate all the details of the game.
you can also romance yennefer and Triss and yeah long story short it blows up in your face bro !
The Witcher 3 got cross over with Soul Calibur VI and Monster Hunter World
Im the #1000 like 😮😮
Winner! You win a free year supply of Drowner Pheromones!
As has been already said, Netflix series doesn't compare really in any way to books or the games. They use similar names and some similar elements while they've also changed and added alot of their own nonsense. Granted, it's not as bad as some other adaptations of other games/books and it is "watcheable" (to those who want to), so to say but it still isn't the "real Witcher".
Play the game.
Love watching normies get introduced to this awesome universe, its like reliving my experience
please Do reaction for Killing Monsters and dlc ;)
Netflix's witcher is bullshit... Indian Yennifer - misscast, Triss - from netflix old woman - misscast, Fringilia Vigo - black woman - noncens, Vilgefors -- mexican, if you have a books you must read it first, than you can find suitable actors. i'm not racist, I just want the actors to match the description in the books
If you want to enjoy The witcher, read books, then play games and never touch that tv show.
The books and games don’t compare to the Netflix series.
¿Sentir pena por una feminista? Cero.
The Netflix series doesn't even compare to how it should have been and the actual Witcher theme.
It's too safe and has boundaries... Season 2 needs to be more bold, crude, clever, shocking and as you stated... Haunting. The Witcher is brutal, the life n people are awful.
More Sparticus: Blood and Sand mixed with Game of Thrones & Lord of the Rings in there.
This aged like milk
Nice one, I would recommend a reaction for "Priscilla's Song" scene in W3.
00:38 If you're interested in a cinematic that was actually put in the show, watch Witcher 1 cinematic intro. It's much older but you will recognize which one it is 🤗
the best game that ever seen!!you should learn , netflix
yeah, i dont understand people giving netflix witcher a 10/10. Never have i felt in the whole show like watching this game cinematic.
Gorgon have you guys ever actually read the books though? The games mess up and retcon lore and story points constantly, I still love them though but to act like they are the perfect adaptation of the Witcher is just dishonest.
I don’t understand people acting like you can’t think the games, show, and books are all good, they can exist together and they all help each other out in sales and popularity, is all symbiotic.
@@jazzyb3424 its not about lore, its about the atmosphere and yes ive read all witcher books and the show does a bad job at capturing the books too. it couldnt capture the humour, the grittines and how cruel the world is. its a 6/10 average show at best.
Gorgon I thought the atmosphere was good so idk, definitely a lot more true to the books in some parts than the games were as well, it’s all about difference of opinion tho, the show was a solid 8/10 to me, so we won’t agree on that but what we can agree on is that the show is increasing popularity of the books and games which as a whole is good for all Witcher fans.
@@jazzyb3424 an 8 for me is westworld, firefly, cobra kai, the sopranos etc. unfortunately its not on the level of those. Bad writing, stupid costumes and that cgi dragon omg wtf was that, that looked more like a flying dinosaur. Only good thing was geralt and yeneffer somewhat. I wanted a dark gritty world and character building with dark humour thrown in to it, which the books were, which i didnt get. we got some generic b movie type fantasy epic, with too much magic, boring dialoges, boring monsters.
The reason why they didnt do that is because the witcher series takes place like 8 years before the witcher 3 game
4 minute trailer better then the entire tv show....
The game really has good music, I recommend that song that Priscilla sings I think its called The Wolven Storm
They did recreate the intro cinematic from the first game in the show. The battle with the striga.
That's because it happened in the books.
If you liked the show and played the games, I would definitely recommend recommend reading the books because the show changes a LOT of the lore. Not saying the show is bad, its a great show that I like even with the changes. But just know that the games are FAR closer to the books than the show is.
The show has potential but has some issues like pacing and writing the relationship development, really hope it improves with the following seasons
It didnt @@eireyouok101
The games are 100 way better than the netflix series. Way better.
I have to say that your sound mix is just perfect, I could hear all the clip sounds clearly, great job. Also "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - All Trailers (1080p) " would be a good one to watch!
Him: not for kiddies
Me: *cries in 15 year old
Yennefer and geralt are adoptive parents to ciri.she loved geralt more than yennefer.but ciri never called him once "father"but she called yennefer mother many times. The true mother and daughter love.Novels ciri have a name "cirilla of vengeberg"
Trailer "Witcher 3 Killing monsters" is also good
You should do a playthrough of the game together.
Actually, the game doesn't look much worse than this...
After watching this, playing the game and reading books, only then do you realize how bad Netflix show is
@6:10 It's not that Witchers won't kill humans, obviously if you get in their way or try to attack them they will ruin your day, but it's against their code to take contracts out on humans specifically. In the Witcher's world, a lot of people mistrust them and unfortunately there's no shortage of idiots who end up dead trying to kill 'em, thus it turns into a vicious cycle.
The only sentient like intelligent creatures he kills are evil monsters and humans who are killers/rapists/etc. He'll kill stuff like beasts clearly, like nekkers and stuff, but he draws the line at intelligent creatures that don't do any harm. Like he doesn't ever really kill dopplers, he doesn't kill dragons, etc.
Honestly for me the romance part of witcher book so much more entertaining lots more females and actually more people who he probably would have been better off with than triss or yennefer
With this trailer, CD Projekt Red has officially reached Blizzard level when it comes to CGI trailers! :D
This is not an opening cinematic, this is more like a kind of teaser for the Witcher 3.
Speaking of games with a couple of years to its name with magnificent opening cinematics; Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. If you haven't seen it, you really should! That is a series that is way overdue in getting a remake and revival.
Oh wow. Talk about a throw back. They totally need to bring that game back!
React Witcher 3: Killing Monsters, best cinematic ever :)
Netflix sucks, Books rule
The setting of Witcher 3 happens after all the books, they could have done this in an episode but it would have gone against what they had said they wanted to do. With regard to sticking more to the books. It really wouldn't have mattered tho since this cinematic doesn't have and timeline context.
Shes the same vampire that ran the orphanage in blood and wine
I love cucumbers
Geralt is kinda redefining what a monster is. Some monsters are less monstrous than humans, and some humans are monsters to be slain.
I am in a split of what vampire Oriana is. I am stumped between Alp and Bruxa. Im leaning more towards Alp
Definitely a Bruxa, don't think alps can go invisible like that
@@Zonedoutallthetime from my understanding between the two, their abilities are similar. Only Alps are more deadly than bruxe
A Night to Remember was not a cutscene in the game. It was only a trailer. A very good one, but still not in the game. In fact the monster from the trailer only appears in the Blood and Wine expansion and isn't even someone you have to fight.
This release cinematic is set after blood & wine and it's actually Geralt following up on a promise depending on which path you chose in B&W.
@@broutefoin except in Blood and Wine, she's a high vampire instead of the Bruxa she's depicted as in the trailer (meaning the fight would not go as well for Geralt as it did in the trailer).
@@johnbabin2269 The game also says Katakans are higher vampires in some quest (the oxenfurt drunk, the serial killer, the sleepy boi in the sewers) and lower vampires at different places, the distinction between higher and lower is muddy in the games.
The wiki (and narrative designer for W3) also classes her as a Bruxa(just chalk it up as her being a very old and smart Bruxa). The game kinda fucked up with bringing Regis back because of the whole "only higher vampires can kill another" shtick, Which to me means there should now be 3 classifications for vampires for a whole host of other lore to make sense (not just this instance), True vampires, Higher vampires and lower vampires.
Ubisoft uses to be a killer trailer maker, check out the Assassins Creed trailers, Unity is my favorite.
And Lulu is right, he drank the Black Blood potion, in case he is bitten by a vampire, the vampire gets really sick.
I haven't read the books. I've only played the third game. I'm thinking they're saving vampires for later on since the show follows the books
Well to be completely honest, the events of this trailer happens after the main game, but i suppose there is a lot of open time in Geralt's life they could have fitted this in instead. But remember that the right for the games and the TV-series are held by different companies.
I completely agree with you. I went with Yen on my first playthrough beucause i felt they completed each other, but of course, you can always make a case for Triss too... I feel like playing it again now.
The biggest problem the show did was try to make the first book which is a collection of stories. Also Ciri and Yennefer are not the focus of the first book, so the show took liberties making them seem like main characters when they had yet to reach that status.
I know it's just a detail but in the thumbnail you put a water hag when the mon ster in the cinematic was a bruxa 🙂
Story in the game is better than in the movie
Netflix doesn’t want to include game content. Just the books.
Really? They said this?
John X Lulu Geek Out yes. They felt that the books would be easier to adapt (edit) to TV vs the game. My suspicion is they think the books will have greater appeal vs game content.
I highly doubt it, considering Geralt is no other than Herry Cavil, who's a serious fan of the game, they just mention something like that because of the rocky relationship of the author and CDPR, the Netflix adaptation has many references from the games(bathtub scene, for example, that's signature event in the games, and the Dwarfs, those dudes appearance and speech is ridiculously similar to the games ). Also, the author and CDPR seem to have fixed their differences so I expect Netflix shouldn't have problems sneaking a few easter eggs from the games.
Dailandemon sure they can throw in a little scene from the game. But the games are interactive. The books are not.
@@PeaceNGrease what I mean are scenes, it has nothing to do with interaction, movies and books are not interactive by default.
Watch witcher 1 cinematic intro. You'll recognize it.
It is a different pendant because in the books it’s A medallion shaped like a coin with a wolf engraving .. in the games it’s straight up a wolfs Head ... I like the games better
Ahhh, I thought netflix just made it look stupid. Now I realise why it looks different, and I feel stupid.
You should watch cinematic intro from the first game
Best game I have ever played.
Best cenematic video game thrillers
(1) Witcher 3 killing monster
(2) Assassin's Creed (All parts)
(3) Batman series
(4) COD
(5) Battlefield
(6) metal gear solid 4 and 5
And many more
Actually... I mostly agree with this! Good taste!
Read The books
You forget sir that Triss was a staple of the first two games, while Yennefer was a memory. The first game is the foundation that the series rests upon since it shows you why things start to fall apart. The second shows you the start of the fall. The third shows you the ensuing chaos.
Yeah but these are based on the books where Triss is kind of an afterthought….CDPR even said Yennifer was so important that they were afraid of doing her character wrong (because she’s a fan favorite) so they decided to wait.
Ooooo I LOVE that John did mention The Witcher 2 trailer as being arguable as which was the "Best" because I am deff on the Witcher 2 side if we are talking the assassin on the boat one.
The cinematography in the Witcher 2 trailer was simply breathtaking. OK, gonna tee it up for Lulu to watch!
The Witcher 3 Game does deserve all its praise... in fact the only Witcher game I didnt finish was Witcher 1.. because I reinstalled the system. But these days Im actually thinking of going back to it to finish that one as well, even if now the graphics are bad for today.
Wish they remake the 1st and 2nd game. Update with new graphics and mechanics. I can't go back to play the 1st game because it was pretty clunky with it's progression system. But man... I want to play through the story!
@@geek-out Yea true, it looks pretty bad now... its an old game. Maybe someday they will remake but.. for now, we are probably going to see in a few years from now that is... The Witcher 4, and it will be probably with a different Witcher, because they pretty much ended Geralt's story... but Im sure he will be featured there somehow too, hopefully with the rest of the guys, Yen, Triss , etc.
Personally I would have preferred if they didnt make Cyberpunk 2077 at CD Projekt Red, and did Witcher 4... but I will take what I get so I did preorder Cyberpunk. =)
This wouldn't work in Te Witcher Netflix show because chronologically, this is at the end of Geralt's career.
And now it is clear how far from the original Netflix went...
please do reaction to : Warriors | Season 2020 Cinematic - League of Legends (ft. 2WEI and Edda Hayes)
The reason netflix can't recreate this yet is because it hasn't happened yet. This actually takes place after The Witcher 3. The vampire is named Oriana, and you meet her in the final expansion of the game, "Blood and Wine". She helps you, but you discover she's a vampire that feeds on the blood of children and you vow to kill her someday. The "A Night to Remember" trailer is the day he comes to kill her.
Geralt: "Ill come back for you one day. You realize that, right?"
Orianna: "Hmm. Then I shall keep an eye out for you."
this not a trailer but an epilogue.
