    How did I not know you were in Fernindina Beach? I am in Baker Co. west of you. Looks like a road trip soon to see what we can do for my legacy SxS shotguns. This yr is starting off good!!

    I bought the Passing choke last year and liked it. I almost feel like I wasted my money buying the Decoy and UFO chokes now because I used the Boss ammo and liked Boss ammo enough to want to order the other chokes from Muller. Now I find out that if I intend to use Boss ammo I should have purchased the chokes from Boss and not Muller. The Muller choke is better than my original Benelli choke so I bought the others. I guess if I stick with Boss I will have to buy more chokes....
    Question - I intend to try Kent 2.0 next season. Will the Muller choke work better than the Boss choke using the Kent?

      Why. You just said you liked it. They you say you have to do something different than what is working already…

      @ I would think that all that trial and end result ended with a better outcome. Otherwise why do it and specialize in a particular ammunition.

      @@jimdrechsel3611 cause these are averages based on barrels and ammo from dozens. Here let me use a car analogy. Superturbo makes a turbo that’s this size called the extreme 2000. Works better than the rest for 1500-2000cc engines to make 5-700hp. But. Remember better than the rest. Get 12% more than the competition on car x. Gets 9% more on car y. And 3% on car w. But still better. Then here comes wow cars and they want superturbo to custom make them one. Now superturbo made the extreme 2000 for all cars with 1500-2000cc engines in mind. That’s a huge gap. (.719-775 bore diameter….). So super turbo fine tunes the wow cars custom turbo and we’ll look at that it gets 17% better than the next. Cause it’s made for this amount of airflow. At this speed. At this atmosphere. For this cc. With this amount of back pressure. Etc etc etc. that’s the reason some ppl say oh the muller didn’t work as good as xyz in my rig. Cause yea maybe 1/15-20 times with whatever shell it might not. Cause it’s been made for an average over a bunch of stuff. But being able to know what shell the person will be putting through the tube takes a tremendous amount of that average away. Now the only variable is what barrel diameter and length will criobiox etc choke be put in. Cause you know what shell it’s going to use now. It used to be for a large average of barrels, and shells, for say decoy choke. Now it’s down to barrels with this system. They aren’t available but I’m sure they will give more specifics about distance when they are ready. But that’s the point. Knowing what shell it going through the tube is tremendous.

      @@jimdrechsel3611 I imagine that he probably gets most of his returns in let’s say the benelli/beretta choke. And that’s cause so many cheap guns use that system. He’s mentioned it before too. So when he makes that one it’s probably mostly tuned to the .719-.722 inch diameter which those two manufacturers use. But when you buy a cheap Turkey super force x5… and it’s maybe way bigger than .722. That choke isn’t tuned very well for that. But in like say a rem choke. I don’t think very many aftermarket manufacturers ever used that system. So the decoy in rem choke is probably very finely tuned cause he used rem bore diameter. Knowing that it would probably only ever go on a rem barrel. .725-.733ish. Which is great for that choke buyer. Small average when it came to barrels during design.

      I’m sure that I’m starting off better than before. I would think the only way to know however is to buy the other choke designed boss and pattern the shot.
      If I do settle on Boss I will buy the other choke to maximize my chances. Duck hunting is too much work to skimp and reducing cripples is always a goal. Not to mention my dog would approve.
      If I get good results from cheaper shot I won’t bother with the boss choke.
      Thanks for the explanation.

    I don't have a muller choke for my SB eagle, but I have 2 muller 2 for sporting clays and they are awesome. For my Ceasar Guerini...

    So the Boss choke is superior to your h2o chokes when using Boss ammo? Go with that choke instead of the h2o if I’m only using Boss shotshells?

    With the Boss Warchief choke what is the intended range? For example you give 35 yards for the decoy choke & 50 yards for the passing choke.

      This doesn’t make things clearer. I would like to try the chokes but with no idea what the intended range is on these it just sounds fishy.

      @@korykoehnen4720there’s nothing fishy about using the right pellet size for its intended distance. If a boss shell is small pellet, no it’s not going to come with a long distance full pattern choke…

    • @MrT13
      @MrT13 20 днів тому

      @@korykoehnen4720in other words, no the boss super something with 2/3 pellets is not going to come with a super something choke that’s a 25 yard choke… it’s already clear with the information he’s trying to teach all of you. Small pellets close, little bigger mid. Little bigger or still small but heavy for far. And the choke will match the boss ammo for its intended use. Don’t over complicate it with numbers that vary from barrel to barrel therefore don’t matter as much as the taper before it. If it’s the close boss, it’s supposed to be used with a close choke. And that’s what the name matching one will be. TSS is not going to come with a decoy choke…

      @@MrT13 I didn’t hear him say that though.. He said the taper and constriction matters less than the geometry… okay sure but the “ideal” pattern is different depending on the intended range. He doesn’t talk about the intended range or patterns at different ranges. It’s fishy…

    Jimmy. Mention Drylok 1.25oz #4 2.75” more so people will try it. And they’ll keep making. I got cases so I don’t care if it gets bought up. You mentioned Remington as the only one at 1275. But we know Drylok is a fantastic patterning shell. And at 1300 in 2.75” it’s just as true as the heavy 3” stuff too. Remington no longer makes the one you mentioned. So mention this one and keep it alive please.

      Drylocks are one of the worst shells ever produced.

      @MrT13 3 дні тому

      @ lol well they are the last factory 2.75” that offers 1.25oz of steel, going 1300fps. In both #2 and #4. And they always go bang and pattern great. So I don’t know what there is to hate when it’s literally the last relatively cheap thing to check all the boxes. Funny everyone loves boss cause it’s heavy and slow. Exactly what everything used to be… and Drylok is the last one left doing what the favorite new kid on the block is doing… somehow gets a bad name. Oh and 1-3/8oz in 3” also lol. But ok do you I guess. I just don’t understand. Everyone says xyz is amazing, I say well they are still doing it too. No no those are really old though lol. Ok I guess

    all this talk about intended range and what size pellet for what range is really making my tummy sore from laughing. There is no guarantee on pattern with the ammo or the choke no matter the brand. all the box or packaging says is basically what is average expectancy. To know for sure you need to pattern your shotgun with the shot and choke that you will use for your hunting situation.
