Prince was a gifted musician..able to play several instruments and gifred music composer...like the Great Mozart!!! Prince rest Easy Brother. ❤
Purple Rain was a movie starring Prince. This is the title theme. Look it up.
You should check out the entire movie. He's playing a character.
1984 Purple Rain.The movie,The Album,The year Prince became a legend💜💜💜💜
From the movie Purple Rain ☔, wish I'd seen him live,, good performer he was, ☔🎸🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥
The movie "Purple Rain" is a must see ❤
Prince was a generational creative talent. He could play around 20 instruments, write music, and even wrote and directed movies. He did my favorite Super Bowl halftime show of all time XLI in 2007. It was raining and EPIC. The day they announced he died, I wept. I don’t do this for famous people very often, but I did. RIP Prince Rogers Nelson.
"ONLY" the usual instruments of rock: guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, piano and drums. For example, if you search for list of instruments used in "For You", you'll only find these and drum machines. He was absolutely able to record and mix by himself at the studio.
His talent is GREAT enough by itself as to put some weird and stupid legend upon it. HE was MUSIC.
The video is from the movie Purple Rain and is best fully understood in that context. The song itself is amazing. He really was the rarest of talents.
It still amazes me that reactors can’t tell the difference between videos and movie clips
@@elizabethfranco1284 that's because younger generations only (mostly) watch videoclips with 2000 dancers, cars, girls in bikinis and nonsense stuff. It's quite hard today to find musical videoclips with creativity or with some story behind.
Love your quote: No wonder you guys hate today's music...
As others stated this is from the movie Purple Rain. Another artist from the movie you might want to look into is The Time.
Please do "When Doves Cry" next. It is also from the movie. Love it!!!
" Raspberry Beret " is a personal favorite and Prince was a genius class act.
Prince was so talented. A musical genius.
One hell of a Guitarist! Dude can shred!!!!!
Love that melody in COMPUTER BLUE 🤘🏽😎
It’s a movie scene, he’s dedicating the song to the father character in the movie. Great movie you need to watch it to get the full context for this scene. One of my fave songs ever.
You need to watch his Super Bowl halftime show in the rain. Best halftime show ever😊
I was at a George Thorogood concert last year, wearing a Rolling Stones "1978 U.S. Tour" shirt, and a guy came up and said "Hey, that Stones tour was the first time I saw George Thorogood!". Apparently George was opening for the Stones on that tour.
He then said "Yeah, Prince was also an opening act, but he got booed off the stage!".
Six years later, the Purple Rain album was released, and Prince was on top of the World! 🤙😎
THE MOVIE!!, A MUST WATCH!😘
"Little Red Corvette", "199p" and other hits are a must - he was a true musical genius and astounding guitarist. I still get goosebumps listening to this.
Watch the movie Purple Rain. This is the studio version used for the movie. Saw him live when i was 20. Watch his Super Bowl performance and the George Harrison Tribute with Petty, Winwood & Prince. SPEECHLESS!
I begged my Dad for tickets to the Purple Rain tour and I was 14 and it was Restricted to 18 years and older. My girls and I dressed up and got in and the rest is history. RIP Prince. Peace out ✌️ ☮️
Prince was a great performer. You should check out his live performances. He covered "Creep" at Coachella and covered "Motherless Child" at another performance -both epic. His live performance at Syracuse is great too. He did "Lets go crazy" and "Purple rain" there as well. Worth checking out.
One of the greatest musical geniuses ever.
💜
Do Prince-Little Red Corvette official music video
From the movie. Back in the 50s - 1980, music videos were not a thing at all (nowhere to watch them, no MTV ect.) So a lot of artists would do television variety shows or movies to get their image out there. Nobody even considered making music videos before 1979's Friday night Videos (show on after 1 am on Friday nights ONLY) Noone even thought of making videos until then. Some bands would film themselves performing in a studio or radio station and use that film to sell concert tickets in the local markets, but music videos just did not exist until then.
Definitely watch the movie.
U Got The Look is one of my faves. Kiss by Prince is another great one 👄
It isn't a live performance, it's the studio audio in a scene from the movie.
There must be some good live videos out there. I recall seeing him play this for an awards show or something, and he was playing some incredible guitar!
You should definitely check out his live performances... 🤙😎
The entire album is Fire
LOL I love how you often say "lady gentleman" when you're trying to "ladies and gentlemen". It's like you're calling us all Lady gentleman
Would love to see you react to two of my Prince favorites -- also timeless classics : When Doves Cry and 1999 . And recommend you check out Purple Rain, the movie. It's a good one. When we lost him, we definitely lost one of a kind. I miss his presence among us. RIP, Prince.
Prince wrote the song.
This is from the movie Purple Rain!
This was written by one of his female guitarists. Wendy....of Wendy & Lisa.
💜PRINCE💜
Please, keep going down the purple rabbit hole! Give "The Cross" live in Dortmund from him, so good. Give it a go...you won't be disappointed 😊
8 years & it still makes me cry...If you want to see his amazing dance skills, watch "Baby I'm a Star" (from the Movie)
This is a clip from the movie Purple Rain.
The movie is astounding - love this song so much RIP Prince - I believe in the movie he had just found his father dead from a self inflicted gunshot - it's the movie s tory, not real life. You NEED to watch the movie.
I love your reactions. Please more Eighties the best❤ Prince was a genius. The movie "purple rain" is soooo good ❤❤❤ legend
Huge classic video.
He said in an interview that this was semi autobiographical
Love me some Prince! 😍
Oh my! Hold on to yourself. This is A CLASSIC. Prince is a MASTER GOAT. Saw it at a drive-in!!!!! And my little sister FELL IN LOVE AND SAW HIM IN PERSON 7 TIMES. She's now 56 and I'm 60. He was a Jehovah's Witness, and whether you believe or not, I believe he's with Jesus now. We will meet him in person.
Man you gotta see him do "the cross" from the sign of the times shows.
Might be one of his most powerfull live songs ever. Doesn't hurt that Shiela E. Is absolutely killing the drums!

Song is great already... but when u watch the movie... u will understand why the ppl are emotional... #the80s
Prince was an amazing talent I just wish that he would have chosen a different genre for his music. His Super Bowl halftime performance was one of the best ever IMO.
Just curious, what do you mean by ‘you wish he would have chose a different genre for his music?
@@tracyface69 I’m more into Rock Music. I’m 62 years old and have been collecting and listening to music, mostly rock since I was about 8 years old. I am a connoisseur of Rock Music. I own over 6,000 albums. I just did not care for most of Princes music, but hey, it’s his music and his career, he’s welcome to play whatever style he wants but I personally think he could have attracted a larger following if he would’ve leaned more into the rock music realm. That’s just my personal opinion.
I believe at that time... he mixed a lil bit of rock, pop and r&b... he never hid his talents... he shredded for sure 🎶🎸
It's autobiographical, as far as I know.
Ace, just too much pausing and talking man...can you cut it down a lil???
Make yourself a strong drink, sit down in front of a big screen TV, crank up the volume and watch the movie !! It’s fantastic!!
