Thanks for the video. The ip address 192.168.1.100 belongs to what?. I was thinking this ip should be the public ip of the exchange. Ie the external domain should point to the nat ip of the exchange
Hi Collins, what he created there as the "Internal Relay" is for devices such as a multi-function unit that can maybe scan directly to email. So you can configure that connector to just authenticate by the IP address and then you don't need to do extra configurations with authentication on the devices. You can use this one connector and add multiple IP addresses of the devices you want to enable email relay for on the premises.
@@pamiparocks I think the picture is getting clearer now. In the exchange, I can add the ip address of the smtp relay server as smart host while I publish the smtp relay services on the internet
Your explanation is confused...... show. How to get our exchange server domain name can be able to send and receive emails to internet gmail yahoo....using smart hosts or 3rd party software..... using public IP..........your explanation is not clear

@@pamiparocks thanks for the explanation. I am sorry to say that I am totally confused .If you can break it down a bit so I can understand.

While you creating new receive connector why you selected Front end transport role and why not hub transport?
Because that listens on port 2525 not the default SMTP port 25
