Hello... I want to buy such an A8 3.0 TDI... Car mechanics is my hobby. People say, run away from that car, it's just an expense. As far as I've looked, the biggest problem may be the timing chain and the repair of the automatic gearbox. There is a repair kit for the air suspension, which is not too expensive. I'm mainly interested in the state of your mileage and experience...😁
Hello, you need to have (a little) money in your back pocket, in my case both front door locks are broken, the battery was broken from the start and two things on the intake were coked up. But if you can do everything yourself, it's within reason, maybe 300-400€ in total without the battery. You're right about the timing chain, you definitely have to pay attention to that, but the engines are actually really good and robust, even the automatic transmission and the air suspension don't cause any problems. Such cars are often portrayed as unaffordable, which in my opinion is not true, especially the 3.0 liter diesel is affordable and maintainable. The quality of the interior and the driving itself is much better than today's cars. I can definitely recommend the car and the performance is more than adequate. Of course, the S8 or a W12 or the V8 models are expensive. Personally, I wouldn't want to finance them either. :) Greetings
@@MRFastGuy1 Thanks for the answer. I have never driven it, but I believe that it meets all the criteria and more, the aluminum body has a big advantage - it does not rust, but it is a little more difficult to repair in case of an accident. The quality of the interior is also at a high level. When I find the right piece ,of course only 3.0 TDI I will buy it😁 Greetings👋
