+1 .. Could listen through these cheap ass earbuds of the wonderful ATC SCM50 all day.... R.I.P. Billy Woodman the ATC Acoustic's founder, and creator..
HyperColours - No, they're not. The decision to have the midrange/tweeter 'out or in' is dependant on the placement of the speakers, normally how far apart they are from each other. Where the speakers are closer together it is normal to have them 'out', as here. When you to place them further apart you would have them 'in'. Ultimately, you should always listen test them both ways when introducing them to a new listening environment to see which sounds best.
I had the Scm 100 active towers , normally the tweeters should be on the inside .There are no strict rules of course. Nice Speakers units but simple cabinets using 18mm mdf with some boxey colourations . now i have meridian dsp 8000se with berilium tweeter fantastic build very smooth and powerful bass no colouration" Wilson" like but . I miss the clarity and sparkle of the ATC dome mid range unit thats why it is so good in the studio you can hear more detail in the recording .Not always welcome on average recordings though.
The smaller models miss bass extension, but the active models from ATC50 and up do not lack for bass in fact they have some of the highest quality bass available on the planet simply by choosing to use a large woofer in a large cabinet. For proof, listen to this track from 6:00: ua-cam.com/video/06m_Hu4DglA/v-deo.html
These are the reference speakers of What HiFi magazine for more then the last 10 years. The only thing that beat it for people who like realistic sound, is the active version with built in amplification.
@@Gregdsilva915 Agreed, all other speakers seem like compromised toys compared to the ATC models from 50 and upwards. As ATC have all the key engineering design elements covered: quality soft dome speakers to prevent harshness, true three way system to cover each core element of the frequency range thus allowing male vocals to sound clear, reinforced front baffle to prevent inter-speaker interference, wide front baffle to allow a thumping bass drive to added rather than one of more undersized tinny sounding ones and of course active speaker to drive that bass and ensure perfect time phase alignment between speakers.

Proof about this High-End? Why are speakers and amps designed so beautifull (B+W the snail things) like coming out of a fairytale world? Because the content is not serious, so they have to convince you with colours and shapes and colours. Like the Indians who were robbed of their land by giving them mirrors and beads..........
It is possible to make a cheap system (amp/speakers etc. etc) But what the industry does is to make quality way too expensive, and below the real normal quality there's a lot of mediocre product deliberatly designed to make you spend money, make you insecure (you socalled need golden cables and spikes) and so you spend some more. Then there's this con-job called 'High-End' believe me High End is the even more overpriced shit for billionaires (who also are so stupid to spend too much money because they too are made insecure). Stay away from speakers that cost you more than € 1000,- per speaker, they are the overpriced ones. And stay even more away from the speakers and amps that you can buy you a car. I claim that there are no decent speakers that cost 10.000,-/30.000,- or more. It is nonsense. And it is a scandal that real hifi is either unaffordable or it just doesn't excist. Look at the BBC speakers...that is quality...yet almost extinct and in resurected form unaffordable for the vast majority of willing consumers. What else? is all industrial stuff that at its best sounds 'reasonable' . This stuff (DALI/B+W/Dynaudio etc.,) should not be costing more than 500,- pro set. And still it is not that good. So we are duped and led to believe we get good audio....its a shame. Young people don't know what good hifi sound is so they fall into the traps of big bass speakers and sounds etc. They don't know so they don't protest.

Верно,у меня тоже 50,только не башни 50 psl
way too expensive for ordinary people who hanker after a good sound. love it, but can't afford it as millions of us!!
The left one is on the right and vice versa! lol

These ATC's sound really great....
Good
Seems weak in the bass response, maybe just the recording, idk. My experience with ATC is they lack bass extension

the singer is inside
Crispy and fast
ATC50 befor 20years now have one hole
Good stuff.
I’m not sure if it’s the master recording but the speakers beat everything I heard and that’s a lot maybe not enough

Really clean you can pick in between the musical space so important and so often overlooked. Love these

Klingt alles leicht übersteuert und voller Raumechos. Und der Bass groovt nicht.

I think speakers are expensive (12000€) cuz they are active speakers, but what you said it's interesting
