Some question people ask are the same as your other assumptions videos. UA-cam can be a job but Karli you have dedication putting out video for us to watch and putting your effort to edit them. I get what you're saying about doing the work and getting paid being a job. In reality, UA-cam is self-employment. Self-employment isn't a job despite the task of any job being done. The only way UA-cam is a job is if you physically work AT UA-cam, which would actually be working for Google. Same with business ownership. Some claim self-employment and business ownership are the same thing, which is false.
Self employment is absolutely a job. Now, it can be an unsteady income but you for sure can put in the work to make it more consistent and earn a good income. I understand what you are saying, and you're not completely wrong, but self employment is and can be a job. For example, my boyfriend is self employed but makes a consistent income because of the job he has. Personally, I think being a content creator on UA-cam is a job once you hit a certain point, which I believe Karli has. Another example would be cab drivers, they are self employed but put in the work in order to make a steady income and pay for everything they need. Self employment can be done is so many different ways.
Well, you're wrong. There is, AT LEAST, ONE 'job' involved when self-employed, just as there is when one is a business owner. This does NOT change the fact that self-employed is just that, just as being a business owner is just that.
FYI: No, cab drivers are not self-employed. They work for a cab company. The cab company owns the vehicles and they are marked vehicles. However, driving for Uber/Lyft is self-employment. Drivers use their own vehicle and the only marking is a sticker of the company logo.

@@BrianJoslyn I used cab drivers as an example of self employment because I know someone who was a cab driver for years. He had to buy his cab and file as self employed. Now, maybe not ALL cab driver are self employed, but there for sure are self employed cab driver.

@@BrianJoslyn Actually your WRONG. UA-cam is absolutely a job. The more you put into it the more you get out of it. Look at some successful channels and look at the not so successful ones. You have to work and that work translates into dollars. Oh by the way, if you want to talk "facts" as you stated, I know several cab drivers that own there own cabs who are "self employed" and work when they want to, so your facts are way off budz. They simply use a cab companys dispatch system to get there fares and pay the cab company a percentage of what they bring in. Being self employed isn't a job? I don't know who made you the almighty one but you don't know wtf you're talking about.

Anyone can go get a job at McDonald’s. Just because anyone can do it, doesn’t make it not a real job. Not everyone is able to do UA-cam and be good at it just like not everyone is good at being a waitress or a babysitter.
