Would it not be better to use a blow lamp as then you could have WELDED ALL the components TOGETHER in a solid block. For goodness sake take up plumbing not radio -- Peter G8CVF said that !!
That mod all is does is makes it wide band, when you can press 3 buttons on the front panel to get the same result. And sorry to say this but the soldering is very poor.
Mike Lee I tried to use the button method, but somehow I got into something that I cannot get out of. the display can read A B or C with 4 digits behind I can change the abc and use the vfo to change the numbers, but cannot get a normal frequency. Any suggestions" I have done both resets.
Ok, but listening to the CB on SSB, while watching, made it annoying.
And the mod goes what? would be nice to know what it does...
+peter baker This mod opens up transmit from 137-174 MHz.

Is that your idea of a proper soldering iron for precision work??
You don't hear the CB chatter in the background? That says it all. Lol. KE5JPS
No more warranty 🤣🤣
You hold down the right two buttons and turn on the power and it will open up the TX. No tools needed.
And you would have to do that every time you turned on the radio this way it's permanent
What buttons???
Anyone else waiting for the magic smoke?
