These are actually tiny adults playing children. I’m looking at you Mary Martin.
You’re right 😂
I recognised Lilla Crawford right away, she is indeed from Into The Woods!
And from the who was show
The Black Friday one is a StarKid musical! It’s the second one in a trilogy, called the Hatchetfield trilogy. They’re all sort of horror-thriller/comedies. The whole cast is super talented, and they have their own yt channel. They do parodies and original shows and they’re amazing, you should definitely check them out!
Joshua Colley is incredible! His performances of The Confrontation as Valjean and as Angelica in The Schuyler Sisters are just brilliant!
Aidan Gemme in Finding Neverland is also well worth a watch, particularly the song When Your Feet Don't Touch The Ground
'What if tomorrow comes' is from the Team Starkid musical Black Friday. They post their original musicals for free on yt and they are amazing! You should really check them out. Maybe you've heard of Darren Criss, he is one of the founders.
Oooooh I’ll check it out, thank you!
Watch TWISTED. it's one of my top favorite musicals of all time. Brilliant.
@@nickhiggsthesinger Start with their very first musical, A Very Potter Musical.
Black Friday is apart of three StarKid musicals that are all set in Hatchetfield and are all related. It’s in this order The Guy That Didn’t Like Musicals, Black Friday, and Nerdy Prudes Must Die.
I was so excited seeing it featured! Such an amazing musical! My favorite Starkid musical is “The Guy Who Doesn’t Like Musicals,” but Black Friday has some amazing songs!
great video! these Matilda videos make me so sad since I’ve played Matilda before and I miss it! I do remember the still and quiet theater after “everything everything issssssssss”
The kids are very talented but you also need to have a musical director who knows how to bring out that talent, I've been involved with a few shows where the director / musical director totally failed the kids.
When I was stage manager for a production of Les Mis in 2018, our musical director took our Gavroches, who thought themselves mediocre, and by the end of rehearsals the 2 kids were the stars of the show. 25 shows over 5 weekends taking turn about.
Love that you included a Starkid show!
I’ve never heard of it until now!!
If anyone is interested, there was a documentary type show with that particular cast of Annie (starting with the casting process and going through rehearsals, etc.) can’t remember what it’s called. I will have to look it up.😊
Edit: OK, I just looked it up… it’s from 1997 and it’s called: Broadway’s New Annie The search for a star
Thank you so much for this!!! I will check it out
I actually saw Lilla Crawford on Broadway as Annie, and her performance was indeed amazing to see in person!
Yes yes absolutely check out Black Friday and the rest of Starkid! The only thing I'll note is that Black Friday is a sequel to the show The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals!
I am in a musical theater company call Center Theater Company and it is split into different age groups some of the youngest kids are in preschool and they are very talented we are in North Carolina and are putting on the little mermaid it started out as a small company in Covid and now has grown so much.
So! I actually was in the last call for Debbie, and read a lot with Billy at the time (which was Tom Holland!) I am now an accent and dialect coach and would love to share more 😊
I actually smashed my nose on the last read with Tom Holland, which was why I definitely did not get the job! X
@@daisytrains4663you’re so lucky!!
Yes! Def react to Starkids... I am sure people have commented but for Black Friday... Start with "The Guy Who didn't like Musicals" then go into "Black Friday" and end with "Nerdy Prudes Must Die"! Its the Hatchetfield Trio!
That's Elliott Hanna in ''Billy Elliot.'' He is on the DVD release. (The DVD does not play on American DVD players, but it can play on other devices. I had a PS3 when I bought it, and it plays fine.)
I got my Copy from Apple. 1080p but wish there was a 4k version
Tom played Billy but that is Elliot Hanna in Billy Elliot Live
Lilla and Anthony (along with Gaten Materazzo and Joshua Colley, not featured in the video for some reason) were my idols growing up. They made me think I could do anything (and I could not. Let’s get that fact straight)
I’ll get to them in part 2 🙂 Any specific recommendations?
@@nickhiggsthesinger There’s the “All For The Best” video with both of them, Joshua singing “The Confrontation” from Les Mis. I can’t think of anything more right off the bat, but there’s a TON for Joshua online from the last 10 years. Gaten not as much since he spent a good chunk of his childhood in Stranger Things.
I love lila! She's now on the new pretty little liars show, I was so happy to see her acting.
Tom is in the finally of past and present Billy's. Tom was already playing Spider-Man in 2015 (this video is Live from the 10th anniversary of the show). Tom was Billy 2007.
STARKID!!! BLACK FRIDAY!!!!!!! I'm so thrilled this was included! That kid was amazing
Im pretty sure Black Friday is a Starkid musical
He should watch some Starkid musicals!!!!
👏 exactly 👏 this 👏
It is NOT just talent. It is SKILL. One is a blessing, and inherent quality... The other is WORKED for.
The amount of times people tell me im talented (brag, but most people dont have an ear/eye for what talanted/skilled really is tbh. Cant really discern good, from GOOD if yknow what i mean) but the truth is i am of midling talent and a whole lot of singing, practice, and playing around to get where I am. Im not trained... I havent got great skill... But i have still worked hard.
I agree so much with that comment. Skill and talant are differnt.
ugh i love elise blake as matilda
You need to listen to the "If on you would listen Reprise" the one with the spanish sub built in the video, that girl was going off
You should analyze Fun Home. The Keys song is amazing.
"Ring of Keys" is awesome. A lot of truly great performers, but Sydney Lucas at the Tonys was extraordinary.
Pls react to the young Alois Mühlbacher
New subscriber here. So happy I found your channel. ❤
Thanks for subbing!
We just did Matilda and it was so incredible to be apart of
Back when I still did musical theater (more than 10 years ago now) we were all seperated into age classes. My group was then between 12 and 15 year olds. When our recital was coming up and our teacher was going to pick the songs we were going to perform, he first had us practice 'Food, Glorious Food' from Oliver Twist, but as we were a few weeks into practicing, our teacher decided it didn't fit the vibe of our group. So then he switched it up and gave us: Revoltin Children from Matilda. It was the best thing ever and we had the best time of our lives performing that number. So whenever I see the movie or musical, I am reminded of that performance we did 😂😂 (Ps. YAY! Starkid in a video!)
After two years of preparation, including ballet, tap and acrobatic lessons, Holland was finally on stage - first as Michael, Billy's friend, and then as Billy in 2008.
It could very well be Tom Holland.
We do about 6 shows for each show we do and in our yearly community show the Christmas Carol we do 12 and we are each year in our local parade
pleaseee get into starkid musicals theyre so great
Im only 14 no singing lessons and i can sing i dreamed a dream
You should DEFINITELY do some reaction videos of the musical Twisted. A wonderful show by starkid. Watch anything of them. Their shows are hilarious.
Thank you so much for the suggestion!! Do you know where I can watch them? Are they available on UA-cam??
@@nickhiggsthesingerYes! They post all of their shows for free on UA-cam (in good quality)
Lilla Crawford is a powerhouse. I absolutely love her interpretation of Maybe, other kids just can't get it quite right emotionally for me.
The little Annie is actually in the who was show!
Josh Colley!
Is there no video of Tom Holland as Billy Elliot? He starred in the role from 2008 through 2010. Don't quote me on that, though. The only things I'm sure about are my soprano saxophone and judo. With those, I'm sure that I still have a lot to learn.
Ouch, ouch, ouch. My leg really hurts today. I broke it in February. Well, I didn't break it. One of my judo students broke it for me. An orthopedic surgeon had to put it back together for me. Still, while I was watching this video, I wasn't aware of any pain. So thanks for the short reprieve.
I think this is the most tangent-filled comment I've ever read and I love it 😂 Also hello fellow sop sax player!
@@bicbiro1116 Hello. How long have you been playing the sop?
@@HahnJames Alto since 2010, sop since 2014 :)
Plenty of interviews on UA-cam with Tom dancing
You should listen to Joshua Colley!!!
Part 2!!
You should watch Joshua colley as valjean wheh he was 12
Hi Nick - I would like you to listen to the swiss singer Nemo, who just won the Eruovision Song Competition with his song "The Code". I am wondering what you say about his amazing performance.
I'm always a fan of singing kids when they're really good. Billy Elliot is one of my favorite musicals. Elliot Hanna's version of Electricity is not my favorite though.
Nick kinda looks similar to Colin from Bridgerton!
Thank you! What a compliment
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Please explain the difference between singing in a musical versus Pop singing..
lilia was otherworldly
You gotta react to Ellie rose pulsifers Annie songs, that girl is insanely talented!!
I was looking for this comment. Love her so much, too. She’s just amazing. Her brother Ben is also very talented.
Kenzie goes to my theatre and Ellie came to visit during mean girls. Such a fun and sweet girl to be around. Love the entire 22-23 cast of Annie!
This is true I know a 13 year old who can sing defying gravity in full voice.
must remember hor-DUH!
It’s Sadie sink
Lilla Crawford
11:15 Excuse me, sir. The movie version of the musical Les Miserables is amazing. I love everything about it. If I sound rude, I’m really sorry. I’m not trying to. I just hate it when people don’t like or hate on certain movie musicals.
Les mis was not a favourite of mine, but we all have our own opinions! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
@@nickhiggsthesinger Do you like the 2004 movie version of ALW’s Phantom of the Opera?
Most of the time it’s WAy too over the top for my liking but there are very talented kids that know how to build and improve on their talent in a productive way
....as someone who was so obsessed with Matilda the Musical at age 12 that I still have most of the songs (from the cast recording CD) memorized at age 19, the movie was pretty mid, because I had different expectations, especially seeing Newsies and Hamilton on Disney+
(I'd still recommend for people who can't see the stage show, but they're very different)
I’m not a fan of Matilda.
Well. I really wanted to hear the kids but got 98% commentary. And you didn’t link the video itself
Yes, he did. It's in the description, though low down. This is a reaction channel though, so not for those who may want to listen to the music alone.
