2017 INTERNATIONAL PHILLIP ISLAND CLASSIC Race Three! Peter Hickman on the Harris Yamaha

In 2017 I was drafted into the United Kingdom team to contest the 2017 AMCN International Island Classic at Phillip Island on the Australia Day weekend (January 27-29). John McGuinness put me forward for the ride, to stand in for Ryan Farquhar. I had never been to Australia before, let alone Phillip Island!
We had a huge team all put together by Roger and Pat Winfield running their Harris Yamaha's from the mid 80's! The team consisted of myself, Jeremy McWilliams, Conor Cummins, John McGuinness, Glen Richards (honorary Brit and on a Harris Suzuki!) and James Hillier.
This is race 3 from the 4 races of the weekend, there's a big grid and I had qualified 6th. Learning more about the bike and circuit lap by lap (also learning how to get the thing off the line!) you'll see me carve through the pack and improve race on race if you watch them all!!
The races were great fun and I really enjoyed being in Australia and riding at this iconic circuit, even if I was only there for a week!!!
Fingers crossed I get to go back sometime!
