- This project is a lidded box made from a piece of wood salvaged from the firewood pile: gambel oak (AKA oak brush or scrub oak.) Gambel oak is classified as a white oak.

Thanks Huw! I got the idea from another turner I watch (I don't remember who, as I watch so many). The premise was: you will rarely, if ever, have the joint stay seamless, ...so you will always feel it, ...so make something on purpose to feel.
@@PiedraDesigns I've seen quite a few people use this technique but never tried it as only ever made 2 boxes and they are both sold. Cheers, Wes. Huw
