Whatever crap that developer is going to build in its place won't have anywhere near the durability, quality of timber, or craftsmanship of this mansion. I could understand if it were falling down, but this thing looks almost move-in ready. I'm sure it cost more to demo it than to get it spruced up and up to code.
More so in Europe, they value their history and historical buildings and strive to preserve them. Not so in America where Capitalism and Greed rule the landscape. Homes that were once on the historical register are bought and torn down and simply removed from the list, like "so what?". Capitalist Greed is clearly a mental disorder.
This historical gem should have been preserved. This should NEVER be allowed to happen. The cold-hearted greed of these developers needs to be reined in --- NOW! We must STOP the destruction of our heritage.
It would be a dream come true for me to live in this fantastic historical home. I am so upset that it was demolished, and I mourn the loss of all the wonderful places that face a similar fate.

@@bethmann3283 nothing that I could find. It's hard to get that info sometimes. I wish it was easier. From what's inside I believe that they were older in age and just wanted to move on. The land is now a bunch of overpriced houses.
@@AbandonedSteve Those old antiques would have been bought up in my area! Maybe the prices were too high at that estate sale. Or maybe just for some weird reason no one saw the sale advertised or all the people who were going to go to that sale got sick!
What a shame that the house was demolished. The beautiful double wedding band quilt in the upstairs bedroom I hope someone saved it. It’s worth quite a good chunk of money. Saw lots of valuable items as you did your walk. The French doors also were worth saving. Thank you for sharing your findings.

Yell all you want. You have a right too. The previous owner probably had it for sale for a new buyer and the developer most likely told them I will give you cash for the entire thing. Most sellers will take that in a heartbeat. The area this is located in is pretty populated and in demand. When they see a house for sale with 20+ acres, they want it
That's pretty depressing. Such a neat set of houses. Hell, I'd have been happy in the guest house. All that wood paneling was so nice. And that really neat stairway. There was all kinds of old and now rare stuff in there. There was a good bit of furniture that would have been quite pricey in its day, and would still pull a good price. Probably a lot of interesting books in there as well. But it's a real bummer seeing a gorgeous set of really neat homes like that and knowing they were just rolled over for a bunch of McMansions, or whatever.

Moved overseas recently Gave away tons stuff thrift store, habitat for humanity Nothing antique, but clean, usable Do you think they would allow wrecking crew salvage as they wish last minute, or does.that cross boundaries?
My dad worked for a realtor restoring homes and cleaning them out before they renovated them and as far as I know they were allowed to take what they wanted this should be a crime if these things were part of the demolition and just pure sinister. smh
the cottage had some victorian European china when you first walked in, along with the Franciscan, by Hall on the shelves nearby (fall leaves on the pieces)-most of the stuff is 50's-70's French Provincial/ or colonial ( saw 3 hanging mirrors-all Mahogany, with the center barley twist finials)-and last, but not least ( on the blue mattress twin beds's), a chrome plated 1920's coffee urn-looks to be Universal (Landers, Frary & Clark)... I probably would have just backed my truck up and...well, you know...-)

The sheer artistry of all the interior finishing...the columns, that massive mirror upstairs, actually two one built-in and one huge one in the first b-room; the french doors, numerous elevation transitions, the windows, the knotty pine stained dark in the 'little' house. all fantastic! My God. Builders today who throw up sheet rock, making everything square and boxy don't even know how to craft a home of this complexity and character anymore. The architecture & finishings are what MADE this amazing place. My heart breaks it is gone! It was very well cared for, too. 😭

It was totally unnecessary to destroy this beautiful and awesome home and make no mistake it was a very well loved house at 1 time!! Some people just have so much stuff and when they go older and downsize, they don't have the room to take it. Most likely why this became an estate sale of some sort
The developer evidently had no sense of value or worth of this old house or furnishings, architecture nor anything else but big buck. What a shame too he could have sold this old house instead of destroying it for a bunch of sorry made newer houses, apartments or condos. Says alot about the developer and other developers as well. I don't have much regard for them.

I find this totally reprehensible and unforgivable of whoever was the "genius " who made the decision to destroy this beautiful home and I am sorry but I hope that failure is in their future endeavors and SHAME ON WHOEVER DID THIS AND MAY YOU REAP THE KARMA YOU DESERVE!! there should be a law not to down a house thats can still be lived in. and go after these homes that have 2 boards holding it up that still stands all across the USA but no they want homes that are in good shape so they can take them down. sickos.

Some people just have so much stuff and when they go older and downsize, they don't have the room to take it. Most likely why this became an estate sale of some sort

The developer evidently had no sense of value or worth of this old house or furnishings, architecture nor anything else but big buck. What a shame too he could have sold this old house instead of destroying it for a bunch of sorry made newer houses, apartments or condos. Says alot about the developer and other developers as well. I don't have much regard for them.

If you watched the video, these buildings were part of a school. Here is the school registered at this link. On that page go check out the address and put it into google maps. Guess what you will see, new construction and no more house. Heck go on street view, set the date back to 2019 and compare the long driveway up to this house to the current street view. That is all I can provide, if that doesn't float your boat, go find another channel to harass. The reason you are seeing this house was ONLY bc I got permission to film it.
