True, no copyright 'in' JA, however most of these producers licensed the music to UK labels like Island, Trojan and Pama records and now UMG (the Universal Music Group) owns all the rights to Island, Trojan and Pama records so there is a copyright on pre-1990 JA music, just not on the original JA vinyl pressings.
There was no copyright needed when it comes to this version. Duke Reid produced the original "Everybody Bawling" version and this Version together with U-Roy.
Al Capone tried to copy daddy Roy's style but didn't have any good lyrics, u Roy transcend reggae music and inspired generations of deejays.. Can't compare a Bentley to a Honda accord !!
@@kingstonban you will be saying how great he was when him dead, imitator or not let’s all appreciate them.. Daddy Roy I Roy Big Youth Alcapone Scotty Charlie Ace Sir Harry... all inspired many generations not just Daddy U Roy alone. Remember when I Roy was selling more than Daddy U Roy??
@@kingstonban I was fortunate to see both URoy and Dennis Alcapone live one after the other on the same bill in London back in the 70’s. They were both fantastic with their own style and with obvious great respect for each other. Both masters in their field as Sound System Pioneers.

Daddy u Roy is the king, Dennis alcapone was just an Imitator
Alcapone was still good in his own way. U think U Roy would’ve been able to carry the DJ business alone?
